PetStay Highland & Moray Branch
Hello there, I’m Catriona. Welcome to your local PetStay branch for the Scottish Highlands and Moray areas.
Truffle lives next door, albeit, a mile away! I have always loved dogs but sadly don’t have any living at home just now, so going for walks with doggie friends and their owners is the next best thing.
I am delighted I found PetStay and am really looking forward to finding your dog(s) the perfect carer whilst you enjoy your holiday, safe in the knowledge they are well cared for and happy in a ‘home from home’ environment.
At PetStay we offer a loving home from home for your dog/s with one of our carefully selected carers who you get to meet first before you book giving you peace of mind whilst you are away. We don’t mix different dogs from other households and never let a dog off the lead, we have many safeguards in place so you can rest assured your dog/s are safe and are also having a wonderful holiday with their PetStay dog carer.
Please also get in touch with me as I’m now looking for new carers to join my team so if you love dogs, have a secure garden, are at home during the day and want to earn a little extra then give me a ring for an informal chat.

Are you worried about leaving your dog in kennels? Have you ever considered a dog sitting or home boarding service in the Highlands or Moray area?
At Petstay Highland & Moray we’ve carefully selected many caring and affectionate people who will care for your dog while you’re away on holiday. We are licensed and insured to arrange home boarding for your dog while you are away. Our dog sitters in Inverness and the surrounding areas who are all vetted and insured provide a far better experience for your dogs than kennels because we provide a home from home environment, a real alternative to kennels.
Here at PetStay Highland & Moray we offer an outstanding dog sitting service to families who would prefer to have the peace of mind that their dogs are happy and settled in a loving environment whilst they are away on holiday.
We will pair your dog with a suitable loving carer who will ensure that your dog will receive home from home care and won’t miss out on any home comforts they are used to. Our carer will match your dog’s daily routine to ensure they remain as settled as possible.
Since 2005 PetStay have gained an excellent reputation for providing a dog home boarding service second to none, far removed from the experience of traditional dog boarding kennels. PetStay Highland & Moray are now becoming known as your local dog sitters.

Frequently Asked Questions about becoming a PetStay Carer
What are the requirements of becoming a carer?
You must be a genuine dog lover, have experience of looking after dogs and you need to be home during the day so you have plenty of time to give to the dogs you are caring for. You must have a secure garden and agree to abide by PetStay guidelines. You are allowed to have a dog of your own as long as your dog gets on with other dogs.
How are your carers vetted?
If you meet all the requirements listed above, we will come and visit you at your home. We will check the security of the garden, explain PetStay procedures and show you the guidelines each carer needs to follow. If you are happy with everything and we feel you would make a suitable PetStay carer, we would follow up a reference and arrange public liability insurance for you.
How many dogs can I look after?
Our service is on a one-to-one basis, so only dogs from the same household will stay with you. You are allowed to take up to three dogs from the same household, BUT you choose what you are happy with. We will ask you how many dogs you would like to look after and what sized dog/s you would be happy to care for.
Do I have to provide the food?
No, the owner will bring any food or treats for the duration of the stay. Any toys, bedding, medication and leads will also be brought.
Does the dog/s have to be vaccinated?
Yes each dog MUST have up to date vaccinations, have been wormed and treated for fleas. Proof of the vaccinations will be brought to the meeting and shown to you.
What about walking the dogs?
All dogs should be taken out each day for walks. When you have your meeting with the owners all routines, including the number and length of walks, will be discussed. The dog is only ever walked on a lead.
What if the dog becomes ill?
We/you would endeavour to contact the owner or the emergency contact. The owner or the emergency contact would be liable for any expenses incurred in taking the dog to the vet.
Will I be paid?
You will receive a daily allowance, starting from £13 per day.
What happens next?
If you are interested in becoming a carer, please ring us for an informal chat and ask any questions or email us with your details and we will come back to you. You can also use the contact form on the ‘contact us’ tab. If we feel you are suitable we would then arrange to visit you at home.

Thanks so much again for your help Catriona, and to Vicky for having him. All went smoothly this morning and by the time Mike got back to go for his train he got a photo of Luckee asleep on the rug in the sun. One happy dog and peace of mind for us. So thanks again, wonderful service and yes we have your contact details for the future!
This was the first time we used the PetStay service, as well as the first time we’ve left our golden retriever Logie with anyone overnight. We couldn’t recommend this more highly. The whole process from start to finish was really straightforward. Catriona who arranged Logie’s stay was very helpful, and Ann who looked after Logie for us couldn’t have been any nicer. We were very reassured after meeting Ann that Logie would be very well looked after. He went happily with Ann when we dropped him off, and was obviously very settled and happy when we collected him. A brilliant service and peace of mind for us too. Will definitely use PetStay again.
I felt very comfortable and happy to leave our dog at the home arranged by PetStay. I was confident he would be in good hands with Vicky. This was my first time using PetStay, and intend to do so again.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to your organisation and in particular Vicky who looked after our Gordon Setter (Lewis) for a week whilst we were away.
We got daily updates with pictures of our “wee” boy, which gave us a sense of security that he was being (very) well cared for.
I would recommend your organisation and Vicky in particular to anyone who wants to have the security that their precious pet is being very well looked after whilst they are away.Ian
Loch and Tarn
Pleased we have found a place that is local to where we live to look after our fur kids. Regular updates and photo’s was so reassuring. It is a service we will be using again.
We were delighted with our first experience of using PetStay. Our Carer, Ann, made us feel completely at ease about leaving Scrabble, taking the time to listen about his routine and personality. He was completely relaxed and chilled when we picked him up! We have now booked him for more stays with Ann. Thank you to Catriona at PetStay Highland and Moray for organising everything.
I just wanted to say that Janice has done a great job looking after Dusty.
It is a huge relief to know Dusty is so well cared for and happy when I go away.
I did thank Janice yesterday but I wanted to formally record my gratitude.
PetStay Highlands & Moray 5*. What a fantastic service, from start to finish. Catriona from PetsStay Highland & Moray was so helpful, and found us Julie at very short notice. Great communication, friendly and welcoming service. Julie and I arranged to meet so she could meet Arlo. She clearly loved dogs, which was very comforting as this was the first time we have left him. Thank you for looking after Arlo so well Julie, we will Definitely use this service again if we can’t take Arlo away with us
Alfie had a great stay with Phyllis. She was so welcoming and kept us updated on how he was settling in and how his walks were going.
We will certainly use PetStay again and Phyllis if she is available. No more smell of
kennels or pet with lost bark when we return from holiday.
We were very pleased how Timmy was looked after by Mr & Mrs Ross, Alness, while we were away.
Mrs Ross has been sending photographs almost every day, showing how well he was getting on with their own small dog.
He seemed very well looked after when we collected him two weeks later.
We would like to thank catriona@petstay for arranging Timmy’ stay with Mr & Mrs Ross.
Thank you so much for your service. Chris was absolutely fantastic and could see he had taken well care of our Chloe. It was lovely to see her normal bouncy self when we came to greet her and can see she has had no negative impact from being away on her holidays. Ever so grateful and personally would never use a kennel again.
Avoch, Black Isle
Our pup Coco suffers from arthritis also prone to other leg problems PetStay could not do enough to help Janice the sitter was fabulous with her like a home from home. We were very pleased as we didn’t want to leave our pup in kennels as Coco has never been left in kernels, we were worried about her legs how Coco would settle as Coco always one to one stay. Thank you so much yes we would recommend PetStay and will without a doubt board Coco in the future.
Janey & Ewan
We had our three dogs stay with Angela for the first time last week, we usually have breaks that we take the dogs on, but this time was not suitable. One of our dogs is particularly nervous of new situations and strangers, she is a rescue dog. Angela took the time to meet up twice with our dogs, and go for a walk together to see how they all got on. Before we were due to go on holiday our rescue dog Eddie had an abscess diagnosed on her back, had surgery and ongoing treatment with medication and dressings requiring regular changes. We were getting ready to cancel the holiday but Angela reassured us she was happy to look after Eddie and take care of her medical requirements. While we were away we received daily updates and photos of the dogs, so we could relax and see they were having a good time and getting cared for. When we got back although the dogs were pleased to see us, they were in no hurry to be loaded into the car and taken home. PetStay clearly know what they are doing when they find such good carers. We are looking forward to getting away again soon, knowing the dogs will be happy and very well cared for.
Tilly (host dog) and Hardy
The booking process is relatively straight forward. Ann and Ian made Hardy very welcome in to their house and kept us updated throughout his stay.
Bosco & Finn
Chris looked after my two dogs Bosco and Finn for 6 days. I don’t know who enjoyed the other the most. It was obvious that my dogs had had a great time, and I shall be very happy to leave them with Chris – through PetStay – when I next need to.
Juno & Luna with Angela
Our wolfhounds were so well looked after and cared for with Angela. This was the first time we had left our precious pups and regular text updates and pictures reassured us. Thank you PetStay.
Tosca & Maisie
Maisie stayed with Antionette for just over two weeks. She settled well with the family dogs and was well cared for. I had message updates to say how Maisie was which was great. Antionette said she fitted in well, in fact I think she was spoilt! I can’t thank Antionette enough as it meant I could relax while away knowing Maisie was ok.
We very nervously boarded our Newfie Maya with Vicky in Nairn through PetStay. Vicky was amazing, Maya had the best time and we were absolutely thrilled with the photos and messages we received whilst away. Would highly recommend both PetStay, and in particular, Vicky, who went above and beyond what we expected! Maya came home looking fabulous as Vicky had obviously spent a long time grooming her, which I may say is usually an issue. Maya had also been well walked and it was a pleasure to see her so happy somewhere other than home. I can’t recommend Vicky highly enough and would only say if you’re thinking about it she provided a fab service.
Ann & Rodger looked after my dog extremely well, he was made to feel at home and I received a reply to my texts and e mails straight away updating me on how he was getting on. I would be more than happy to leave him there in the future.
Simon & host lab Tilly
Ann and Ian were perfect hosts to Simon our Airedale. Complete success on each of his recent visits. When he came home he was very relaxed as if he’d been staying with his own family. Highly recommend PetStay and Ann and Ian as Pet Hosts.
Our PetStay sitter, Lorna, was obviously experienced in the care of many animals – she has ponies, dogs, hens, a rabbit, and a parrot. All were in excellent health and the huge garden was totally secure. Our big hairy dog is a friendly creature but he has previously come out of some kennels rather thin and unhappy. When we collected him yesterday he was the picture of health and happiness. We are relieved to know that Lorna would be pleased to have him back.
The service provided was very good and as expected. Having met the carers before the event I was very comfortable with the service proposed. The organisation of the service was very well executed and the carers themselves provided feedback on how it was going during the stay. On collecting my dog at the end I was very pleased with how things had gone and have no hesitation in using the service again.
All my worries were melted away when I met Carol who was going to be Rogie’s carer when we were in Australia. We met twice beforehand, so Rogie could meet Larkin, Carol, s dog, and get to know the house and garden. Carol kept in touch and sent photos while we were away which was great. On our return I was met by a very excited happy dog who was obviously well looked after and had a good holiday as well! I was so pleased with “PetStay” and will be using their service again. Thank you so much.
First time we left our little Mia our wee rescue dog so quite concerned. Ann met up with us prior to going ahead with with Mia staying. Very friendly, lovely with Mia made us feel at ease which made us feel confident in leaving her. Asked questions which showed she had Mia’s best interest at heart. Listened to Mia’s quirky ways and routines. Left feeling really good. Such a relief that we went and booked holiday straight afterward. On our return Mia was over the moon. Happy couldn’t walk properly from wagging her tail too fast. So so lovely to see. That, s when know Ann was the perfect person for our Mia. Thank you Ann xx.
Jasmine & Ralph
Our spoilt cavaliers Jasmine and Ralph have returned from their stay with Janice near Inverness very happy and tired from lovely walks. Given that Jasmine is in her silver years and Ralph’s heart problems we were worried about leaving them, but those concerns were unfounded – very pleased with the service
Barney was very well looked after by Trish and Colin. We came back to a contented dog! Thanks to you all, it made such a difference being able to leave Barney in trusted hands if ever we need to use your services again, we would love Barney to stay with Trish and Colin.
We used PetStay for our loving British bulldog coco she stayed with Linda and Iain who welcomed her into there home.
Coco had a lovely time staying with them she came home very happy a little sulking having been left we could tell she was loved in the short time she stayed with the couple. We will definitely be using them again for Coco. Thank you so much for putting us at ease leaving her with you both.
We have been reluctant in the past to go away and leave our dogs in kennels as they had not been happy, so we were looking for something more homely for them. We were delighted with the way they were looked after by their Petstay hosts and would not hesitate to leave them again. This might mean that we are able to get away more since we would no longer be concerned about the dogs when we are away.
Ian & Judith
Just wanted to say a huge thank you to you for organising Bonnies stay with Vicky.
Vicky was great and kept in touch with me and even sent some photos.
Bonnie looked great when I picked her up.
Very happy to recommend your service x
Thank you to you and Vicky.
We can’t thank Phyllis and her husband enough for looking after Robbie. It was our first time using PetStay as Robbie was a rescue dog, Robbie had a great time they treated Robbie as their own lots of walks, cuddles, playtime, one very happy dog (think he would have stayed). Phyllis sent us photos of one happy dog on holiday, can heartily recommend PetStay.
Susan & Neil
“Catriona, thank you for all your help and assistance in getting Otty looked after at short notice. Big thank you to Vicky for looking after our border terrier so well. He’s never stayed with anyone else before and from the first contact until we picked him back up we had total confidence that he was being so well looked after. The communication throughout was comprehensive and we had pictures of him having fun and chilling throughout his stay – these were so typical of him and so we knew he was happy. Will definitely use again.”
Used Pet stay for first time and was really impressed with the care Nicky got from.
Izzy and Brian in Elgin, he was very well looked after would use them again, without having to worry about Nicky, thank you Izzy And Brian.
This is the first time we used PetStay and we felt very comfortable leaving Breagha with Vicky while we were away for the week. We got regular updates, photos and a video which made our holiday. We felt Breagha was with us on holiday. She was well cared for and will use Petstay again as long as it’s Vicky as Breagha became part of the family. If dogs could speak Breagha would tell us that she was thoroughly spoilt.
I cannot speak more highly of Vicky (and Pete) who have treated Barry so very well, it was as if we had never been away when we picked him up. Previously we used a kennel and he would be a little bit unsettled and having trouble getting back into his rhythm after we picked him up, but this time it was the complete opposite! It was amazing to receive so many pictures and videos and to see him completely in his element with Vicky and Pete ensured we could enjoy our holiday even more. The picture we have included here says it all! Thank you so much for looking after him so well, Barry is looking forward seeing you again in October!
We were extremely happy with Zeus’s care in every way and Phyllis was very nice indeed. We’ll definitely choose her next time.
Delighted with Willows care while we were at Belladrum. Kerrie sent me 2 texts letting me know what they were up to and that she had settled in well, and Willow clearly enjoyed her time with the family and their two lovely dogs. Thanks so much for your help and efficiency, we’ll be back!
Zac seemed to have a great time staying with Terri, she clearly bonded with him and he was happy and in good health when we collected him. He had clearly had plenty of walks and attention. She had nothing to report so I am guessing all went well! We would be happy for Zac to stay with Terri again and will no doubt be in touch with you.
Jayne, Keith & Zac
Bonnie (& Lammie)
I am very pleased to say that Ken and Jenny were so good to Bonnie that she was delighted when I took her for her second stay, not even a backward glance when I left her. Ken and Jenny took on board the issues that Bonnie has with other dogs and kept her safe, happy and out of trouble. I am extremely grateful to Ken and Jenny as well as yourself and PetStay.
Blue & Hector
They took plenty of time to make sure they knew what and when the dogs were fed, when they needed walked, and the rules we had for them at home. Blue and Hector were with Ann and Roger for just over two weeks and were very well looked after. When I arrived to pick them up they were pleased to see me but in no real hurry to leave- a good sign they enjoyed their stay. Both dogs were in fantastic condition when we collected them and our very greedy labrador was even the same weight as he was when we left him, so we know he got all the food and exercise he needed. PetStay is a much kinder option than kenneling and we will definitely be putting our dogs back to Ann and Roger when we next go away.
First time we have left Kora and were a bit anxious but all worries unfounded. Great service, Trish and Colin were great and a wee text to say all was well was very welcome. Easy to arrange and professional process added to the confidence I had in the service. Would definitely use PetStay again.
Tia & Brodie
We left our 9 yr old beagle Tia and 10 month old cocker spaniel Brodie with Billy and Isobel for the first time in June. We were very pleased with their personal care and will definitely use PetStay again in the future.
Poppy had a lovely time with Janice. I went away feeling assured that she would be looked after. I will definitely use PetStay again..
First time we have left Kora and were a bit anxious but all worries unfounded. Great service, Trish and Colin were great and a wee text to say all was well was very welcome. Easy to arrange and professional process added to the confidence I had in the service. Would definitely use PetStay again.
Just want to say Chris and Trevor were fantastic and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a dog sitter. They took great care of Rosie! Such a Lovely couple! It’s so nice knowing your dogs in good hands when your away! We had a fab holiday, it’s good to be home and it was great to see my wee dog! Thanks so much to you for recommending them to me! if ever I need a dogsitter again which I’m sure I will.. I know who to call!! 😁 Ten out of ten to you!
I must say Phyllis did not just look after Prince but she really cared for him. We were really concerned about finding the right place for this lovely old dog, who loves people and hates dogs. We certainly found that with Phyllis, she had him out walking, meeting other dogs and just being really well looked after. We also got lovely reassuring e-mails whilst we were on holidays. I totally recommend pet stay for finding the right carer for your special pet. You have a wonderful carer in Phyllis.
Thank you to both Ken and Jenny for looking after Maisie. Maisie was very happy and enjoyed her stay.
I would like to give a big thank you to you and to her. The service you offer is very professional but at the same time very personal. Vicky was so nice. I was more than happy to leave Rory with her. In fact I think Rory had a higher level of care and attention with her than at home!
Our Staffie is great with people and kids, but we are still working on his social skills with other dogs, so kennels weren’t suited for him.
Dropped him off after a fantastic initial meet and greet with Ken and Jenny who were so excited at how boisterous our boy was. Straight into a secure garden littered with tennis balls. We knew right away he was in great hands. When we came to pick him up, he was delighted to see us, but obviously having a Great time. Reassuring and enabled us to enjoy a break without worrying how he was. Thanks again. Highly recommended.
This is the first time we used PetStay for our dog Skye. Vicky was very good and kept us informed of Skye’s stay with text messages and photos. Skye really enjoyed her stay with Vicky we will definitely use this service again..
Many thanks for organising Hector’s holiday with Mairi and Bill.
They were very kind and understanding about his phobia of slippy floors and he had a wonderful time exploring their magnificent garden.
We felt that they had genuinely loved having Hector to stay, and he in turn had a wonderful time with them.

Service : 5* and Quality : 5*
Jax stayed with Vicky for 5 days whilst we visited my new grandson in Kent. We got plenty of texts and pics to keep us updated. Jax looked very relaxed and well which gave us peace of mind. Vicky also really seemed to understand Jax, which was good. Many thanks to Vicky and PetStay for making our trip happen successfully
Hi Catriona, Thanks for your email re: the care Toddy received over Christmas with Mairi & Bill Orr. It was brilliant, I am glad to say, as this was my first experience of PetStay.
He settled well into the household (after a couple of nights a little unsure of himself) and then, when Mr Brodie arrived (lovely golden Labrador) for the holidays, they were great friends. They played tuggie together, had lovely walks and got on really well, as per attached picture. Mairi sent me several emails with pictures whilst I was away so that I was reassured of how happy he was. It made a huge difference to my enjoyment of Christmas knowing that he was happy, safe and being well looked after. I could not thank Mairi & Bill enough for giving Toddy such a caring stay in their home.
Many thanks to PetStay and I will surely be using your service again.
We booked our young Patterdale Terrier in for a PetStay at the end of Nov 2017 for the first time, and were extremely satisfied with both the service we received from Catriona during the booking process, and also our Pet Carers, Isobel and Billy during her stay. They welcomed her into their home as if she was part of the family, and she was relaxed and at ease with them straight away! When I collected her on the Monday, after her 3 night stay, she was happily wiped out after all the walks and playing… the opposite of how she was when we collected her from kennels previously. We’ll definitely use PetStay again.
Absolutely delighted with PetStay and would definitely recommend them to others. I spoke with Catriona on the phone who asked some questions about my Sadie’s personality and traits. She quickly matched Sadie to pet sitters Ken and Jenny. A meeting was arranged and straight away, as soon as we met Ken and Jenny, I knew she was going to have a great time and receive lots of attention in a relaxed home environment. I was given the opportunity to call or text while I was away over the weekend to have regular updates on how Sadie was so that I wouldn’t worry. Sadie was very well looked after and bouncy and happy when we collected her. Cannot recommend them enough and will certainly use PetStay again if we are away anywhere that Sadie is unable to come along with us.
Thank you so much for placing Honey with Kerrie and her family. They were absolutely wonderful with her and it was so good for Honey to be with children and other dogs. Thank you once again, I don’t know what we would do without the wonderful service from PetStay!!
We used PetStay for the first time and we were impressed by the well organised and easy to follow system. Catriona organised a stay with Trish and Colin for our beagle, Cullin. We were apprehensive but with meeting them before the stay our concerns were abeited. We have no hesitation in recommending Trish and Colin as dog sitters. Cuillin certainly made himself at home.
Just to let you know that Harvey had a great time when he stayed with Jo and James recently. He made friends with their new puppy too. It was great to meet Jo before
our holiday, that gave us real peace of mind that we were leaving Harvey with a nice family. I didn’t want to put him into boarding kennels as he was a rescue dog. It was definitely home from home. He had a fab time playing with the puppy and even helped James out with the painting one day!! Jo even sent us a couple of photos to let us know that Harvey was ok. I will definitely use PetStay again in the future and will of course be requesting that Harvey stays with Jo and James.
Jock had a fantastic time staying with Vicky who always kept in touch to let us know how he was doing. We will definitely be using this service again!
Baillie went to stay with Ken and Jenny and had a great time. He met them a couple of times before going to stay for a week. He was relaxed and well looked after for a pampered pooch. Their daughter took him out for walks, he even claimed Ken’s chair for his stay. I think that they were going to miss him when we arrived to take him home.
Our Whippet, Ivor, loved his visit with Angela. After initially meeting Angela we had a lot of confidence that Ivor would be well cared for. We were kept informed of how he settled in during the 2 weeks and were sent pictures of him lazing about and running around in the garden. I knew he had enjoyed himself when we went to collect him as he didn’t seem too excited to see us. Angela herself is lovely, very welcoming and friendly. I have absolutely no qualms in using this service again and would particularly be asking for Angela – a great local service and a home from home for a much loved (and pampered) pet
Just to say a big thank you for the Petstay Highland Organisation you co-ordinate. What peace of mind it is. This was the first time we had left Orrin to go abroad on holiday, but Ann was great in sending us texts letting us know he had settled in. I took Orrin for an introductory visit before we went away, so Ann could meet Orrin beforehand and the house wasn’t completely alien to him when I dropped him off. The whole process from the booking stage right through was easy, uncomplicated and thorough as regards information for Ann re Orrin’s daily routine, vaccination record being checked and vets details being recorded. Orrin had a great time and I will 100% use Petstay (Ann if possible) again. Brilliant set-up. Would definitely recommend Petstay Highland to anyone. Thank you.
Our wee Yorkie, Roma, is afraid of other dogs, so when it came to going on holiday, we knew we couldn’t put her in a boarding kennel environment. Luckily, I found out about PetStay and arranged for Roma to stay with Ann in Inverness. Ann is a lovely lady and couldn’t have been more helpful! When I left Roma in her care, I knew she would be well looked after and she was. Many thanks to Catriona for putting us in touch with Ann, and many thanks to Ann herself for looking after my baby. PetStay provided an excellent service, and I would recommend them to anyone.
Mac had a wonderful time with Vicky while we were away. Catriona was great in finding a place at such short notice too. This is the first time our ‘little one’ has been left with anyone else but family. The pictures Vicky send us reassured us that he was being treated exceptionally well, lazing on the sofa, sound asleep, and sitting watching the TV – typical Mac ! Vicky is lovely and obviously enjoys the company of dogs, thanks you so much Vicky. We would not hesitate using this service again.
Mac, Stephen & Lorraine
Lottie & Wendy
Our two dogs, Wendy and Lottie, were very well cared for by PetStay Highland carer Angela and family at Fodderty. Angela texted us each day to let us know how Wendy and Lottie were doing and that all was well. Angela could not have done more for us and for our canine family.
We were delighted with the service and know who to contact when we go away again!
Our black lab Kelpie stayed with his careers Trish and Colin in Culloden, Highlands back in May and my wife and I couldn’t have been happier with the service PetStay provided and the care that Kelpie received. The detailed background and information checks gave us real confidence that Kelpie was going to be well looked after and the system of meeting Trish and Colin first, (and Jed their own dog) meant we knew that everyone was going to get on great. Catriona who coordinated the home stay for us gave us clear and concise information and was only a phone call or e-mail away if we needed anything. We wouldn’t hesitate to use PetStay again in the future or recommend to other dog owners.
Huge thank you to Catriona for finding us a sitter for our dog Maddie. Maureen and Jack were a lovely couple who looked after our dog so well she didn’t want to leave! We would highly recommend Maureen and Jack to anyone looking for a sitter and would be more than happy for them to look after Maddie in the future.
Willie and Margaret
Trixie seemed to love her boarding home and came back happy, healthy and well walked. Have already rebooked for next time. Thanks for looking after her so well.
Nala & Rosie
Our dogs were obviously well looked after and returned to us in good health and well being, Nicola was extremely obliging and courteous toward us. Between her and her lovely children they did a wonderful job :).
Norma and Allan done a fantastic job looking after our family’s dogs. It couldn’t have been easy looking after the 3 of them but they did a brilliant job and sent me a picture of 3 happy doggies. Highly recommend PetStay to everyone x.
Vicky was very welcoming to our dog Jenny and we couldn’t have asked for better service. She sent me pictures so I could see that she was settled and enjoying herself. Thank you for the good service!
Thank you so much for placing Honey with Maureen and Jack whilst we went away for a few days. We were quite apprehensive about leaving Honey for the first time, but we couldn’t have asked for a lovelier couple to look after her. Honey seemed very settled and happy when we collected her and had clearly been very well looked after. We would highly recommend this service and will definitely be using Pet Stay again in the future.
Thank you again.
Sandra and Steve
Couldn’t have asked for a lovelier couple to look after Rza for a couple of days. Jo and James were so nice and I knew when I met them that she would be well looked after. Would definitely recommend using Petstay as an alternative to kennels. Thank you so much.
Hector spent a wonderful week with Antoinette and her Spaniel, Strathy while we visited our son in Leeds. From the minute we met Antoinette, we knew he would be in excellent hands and when we picked him up, we could tell he had been loved and cherished.
We will certainly use ‘Petstay’ for future holidays and would like to thank everyone concerned for such a caring organisation.
Alan & Rhonda
I was apprehensive about leaving Senna with someone new but I would have no hesitation in recommending Norma and Allan again. They kept us updated during his stay with them and sent photos too, which was brilliant and really put our minds at ease. He seemed very settled and happy when I collected him. Thank you both again for having him! Hazel and family.
Honey was made to feel at home on her stay and enjoyed her new walks, ate her meals and was happy with her care from Vicky. I feel happy that she settled in as this was first time she has been away from home and I will not worry about Honey when we leave her on her holidays in July. It was also nice to receive a photo of honey from her care to show me that she was content.
Just wanted to let you know what an amazing carer Lynne is! Loki is in amazing condition after his stay with her and has even had some training! She is an absolute credit to Petstay and if she’d have our over enthusiastic, wayward mutt again, we would not hesitate to leave Loki in her professional care.
Gary & Carolyn
“We were looking for somewhere to take our 14 month old lab, Sirius. We were very resistant to leaving him in kennels and had seen Petstay advertised in one of the local magazines. Catriona put us in touch with Jo and James. We knew our dog would be well looked after, as James played with him. It was the first time we’d left him with anyone else, and the occasional Whatsapp message from Jo while we were away gave us reassurance he was settled. Definitely would recommend Petstay to anyone looking for a home environment for their dog to be looked after in”
“The best idea for any dog! PetStay really is ‘home from home’ and gives me such freedom to go on holiday knowing BaaBaa is being spoilt! BaaBaa is safe, loved and amongst people which is all we could ever ask for! If your dog is a people dog who just loves human contact then PetStay is the answer! I’d be lost without PetStay. So THANK YOU!! ”
Tambo & Kibo
“Catriona kindly took on our two labs – Tambo (5 yrs) and Kibo (6 months) at relatively short notice for 10 days while we went to East Africa over New Year. We had photos almost immediately, showing total devotion to their new carers, and they were clearly relaxed and happy when we picked them up. Catriona was only positive about them (I can’t believe they were as angelic as she implied!) and she was very flexible when our return flights were delayed and we missed connections. An excellent service, there is no substitute for being invited to be part of, and welcomed into, a household, for family pets. Thank you. We will be back…”
“We have used ‘PetStay’ a number of times, twice with Janice, and very recently with James, Jo and their family. Catriona is wonderful to deal with, she is quick and efficient. Each time our dog has come back in great shape. He is treated like one of the family, routines are followed and I have regular contact with the carers whilst we’re away. I honestly cannot recommend this fantastic service higher. If you are going on holiday and need your dog cared for without any worrying, give ‘PetStay’ a go, you won’t regret it!”
Cassie & Dusty
“It was a much more enjoyable holiday for our family knowing our dogs were in the safe care of Pete and Lynne for 2 weeks at Christmas. We really appreciated the regular updates and the photos of Connie and Dusty making themselves at home on the sofa!! This is a great service and would highly recommend it.”
“From start to finish let stay have been wonderful. Our Jack Russell ‘benton’ stayed with Maureen and Jack and they took fabulous care of him. Our children don’t like leaving our dog behind when we go on holidays so it was a lovely surprise to receive an email from Maureen with photos of Benton looking very relaxed and happy. Will definitely be using this service again.”
“Our dog, Holly, does not do too well in kennels and, over the Christmas period, we were finding it difficult to find her accommodation whilst we were away for a family gathering. A call to PetStay quickly put us in touch with a carer in Nairn and, following the necessary meeting, I was confident that Holly was going to be in good hands. When we picked her up, she looked happy and was not hoarse from barking, as she usually is after a spell in kennels. She had clearly been well looked after as a member of the household. I would highly recommend PetStay, and we will certainly be using them again.”
“My dog’s just been for his second stay with Angela in Fodderty, booked through PetStay. When I dropped him off, he was beside himself with excitement when he realised where we were. I was gone for 5 days and I had regular texts from Angela letting me know how he was getting on. It’s a such a relief to know one’s dog isn’t pining. He’s sulked a bit since I collected him on Sunday but it’s not because I went away, I’m pretty sure it’s because I came back! ”
First time using PetStay and very satisfied with the service from the initial contact with Catriona, right through to our meeting with Norma and Allan, the lovely couple who looked after our exuberant 6 month old puppy. Thanks to Norma and Allan for keeping us updated with regular photos of Isla and for providing her with lots of affection in our absence.
Leaving our Rottie Bruce has always been a concern as he was a rescue and spent time at the SSPCA and I hate the idea of him being in kennels just like he was when he lost his last home. From the first discussion with Catriona, who looks after the Highlands, to the pet host family Allan and Norma everything went smoothly and was very reassuring. It was great to get a photo of our very happy dog while we were away. Bruce had a lovely stay with them and it was great to see him so relaxed and happy when we collected him. Will definitely be using PetStay (and Allan and Norma) again. Thank you.
I was extremely pleased with PetStay. I dealt with Catriona who covers the Highlands and Moray in Scotland. It was arranged that Bella would stay with Angela and a visit was organised for myself and Bella to meet Angela and see her home and garden. I had complete confidence in Angela and I’m sure that Bella enjoyed staying with her. She certainly loves Angela now and to me that speaks volumes. Highly recommend :-).
Mrs McHugh, Kieth
Diesel is 8 year old Weimeraner has never stayed anywhere but home or with Grandada and Grandma. As myself and my mum &. Dad were away the same time(never happened before)Dilema??.
I booked him into a kennels however had second thoughts and decided he needed to be home from home so PetStay was the right decision.
When I phoned Catriona she took all the information and quickly came back with Ian in Alves which is 50 miles away from me he was so suited to Diesel great place for him to stay and Ian loves his hill walks so perfect for Diesel. Diesel was obviously loved fed and walked one happy dog when he got home. Thankyou to Ian and PetStay for there perfect match would definitely use PetStay again.
Minke & Fupi
This was the first time we’d used Petstay and the service provided by Catriona and Janice was exactly what we were looking for. Our 2 Jack Russells were very well cared for and seemed very happy at “home from home” with Janice. Thank you.
Chloe & Isla
PetStay Moray branch provided a seamless process from initial enquiry, through pre- booking visits to carer, formal booking and then two week stay for our two dogs. Catriona our first point of contact was very professional and personable and nothing was too much trouble to discuss or organise. All communication was prompt and detailed, adding to our sense of reassurance in trusting the welfare of our treasured ‘ladies’ to PetStay. This reassurance was particularly important as Chloe, our border collie was only recently acquired as a ‘rescue’ from the Scottish SCPA, so a sensitive and understanding carer was essential. Angela Radin, the carer, and her family did an amazing job whilst my wife and I enjoyed a relaxing break abroad, safe in the knowledge that Isla and Chloe were in good hands. Texts and photos were sent to us unprompted, by Angela, whilst we were away, and these were delightful surprises. There is no doubt that we will engage Angela again. Her passion and skill backed up by the admirable PetStay ‘back office’ is first class. Here are the photos of the two ladies in Angela’s fully enclosed safe garden. Thank you Angela and family + Catriona
Trevor and Heather, Inverness
We were delighted with the care and attention our puppy Loki received whilst staying with John and Jackie Kerr, it was lovely to be able to go on holiday safe in the knowledge that he was being looked after In a loving home environment, nothing was too much trouble (including Jackie sending me WhatsApp pictures to reassure me) would definitely recommend.
Gary and Carolyn, Inverness
Thank you so much to Catriona and pet sitters Sharon and her hubby. Our dog Maisy obviously had a very happy holiday while we were on our hols. She had canine company too, which I’m sure she enjoyed, and on meeting Sharon she was great at making sure we knew that Maisy would be well looked after. This is our second time using PetStay, and we have recommended the service to others as we were more than happy on both occasions. Many thanks!
Brodie & Archie
This was the first time we used Petstay and I would highly recommend it. Lynne and her family (and her spaniel Dougall!) were lovely. Our dogs Brodie and Archie certainly seemed to enjoy their time there. It was so nice knowing that the dogs were in good hands in a loving home and it’s a much better alternative to kennels. Thank you!
Our Dog Rumour had a wonderful holiday with Lynne and her lovely family. Rumour is an anxious dog and tends to knaw at her coat if stressed but she was treated so well by Lynne that she came back looking lovely and healthy if not healthier than she went… We could enjoy out holiday knowing Rumour was getting the attention she needed and not locked up in kennels thought the service was great value for money… we will definitely be booking her next holiday with Petstay…
Catriona was so helpful in coordinating our first use of PetStay. Linked us up with a home not too far from where we live, and the introduction process meant everyone concerned was reassured that it would be a good fit. Our retired guide-dog does not do well in kennels, being used to company all day, but thrived with Shazz and her own two dogs. We suspect he had a better holiday than we did! Will be happy to use this service again, and would gladly recommend it.
This was the first time using PetStay and Sooty really seemed to enjoy herself.
Will definitely use again and would highly recommend.
Good to know that your pet can have a holiday while you do.
I would like to thank Jackie and John Kerr for taking care of my little dog Metcha. A very friendly couple who love dogs and that showed. I would also say thank you to Catriona for passing their name to me and for all relevant correspondence. If you are thinking about leaving your pet at holiday time then do not hesitate and contact Catriona AND ask for John or Jackie Kerr ( if it’s your area of holiday ! ).
This is the first time I have left my dog with a sitter that is not family and I was terrified! My fears were totally unjustified!! We received an email a couple of days into our holiday showing just how much fun our little Roxy was having of her own. She was matched up with a perfect couple. When I went to collect her she was calm and relaxed and had put on a little holiday weight haha! Of course she was delighted to see us but kept looking back at her foster parents to see why they were not coming with us.
I will have no hesitation about using PetStay in the future and will not worry when away on holiday, I know my baby will be in great hands!
Petstay matched our beloved dalmation Pongo with a fantastic couple called John and Jackie Kerr. From our very first meeting with John and Jackie, both my husband and I and more importantly Pongo took to them straight away. They made us feel like friends from the outset. A lovely, bubbly couple who clearly adore animals. Pongo was treated like their own and very well looked after. When we collected Pongo he was happy and full of beans a great sign. We will definitely be boarding Pongo with John and Jackie again. Very happy with them :).
Paul & Sonia, Nairn
Poppy & Benji
Poppy and Benji had first class treatment with Janice in Evanton. I can’t thank her enough and the dogs were very happy there, although perhaps a little too vocal at times! Thank you again.
‘I’ve been meaning to contact you for ages! We booked our chocolate lab, Maisy, into dog care through yourself ,with Pete & Lynne Long.
I always meant to get back to you to say how positive an experience it was. Maisy seemed very chilled when we collected her, & Pete & Lynne were lovely. Anyway, hopefully they would consider having her again another time! Many thanks for the great service provided at the time.’
Minnie & Daisy
I needed someone to have my wee dogs at pretty short notice, as it was the school holidays every kennel was fully booked. I found PetStay online, it was a very simple and quick process from meeting the lovely lady who was to have my dogs, to filling in a form. Can’t fault the process at all. This was the first time my dogs went to stay somewhere different and I couldn’t of asked for better. Thanks again to the lovely Janice.
I cannot thank Petstay Inverness for placing my dog Layla with such fantastic carers. Maureen and Jack were brilliant with her and treated her as part of the family. Would definitely recommend and have already booked Layla’s next “holiday”. Thanks a million
Tanya clearly loves dogs and provides such a good holiday home for dogs . We think Ted enjoyed having some dog company and got on well with Jura. This is the first time Ted has ever stayed away from home and we are glad he settled in well.
Having tried to book our dog Mungo into kennels at half term, at late notice to attend a funeral, I happened on Petstay. Catriona was most helpful and quickly arranged for us to meet a carer, Tanya and her dog. The meeting went well and Mungo stayed with Tanya for four days. Tanya was also flexible when the date of the funeral was uncertain. This gave us peace of mind that Mungo was happy and cared for and we will definitely use the service again. Thank you.
I was very nervous about leaving Roxy with strangers but after our first meeting with Maureen and Jack, felt quite confident that she would be very well looked after. I was right! We left her with them for a weekend just to see how she settled and waited by the phone for the call to say she was missing us so much we’d have to pick her up early! No call, just a text message from Maureen to say she was getting on great and not even crying for us! When we went to pick her up she was curled up on the sofa having cuddles with their grandson and looking very much at home.
This is an invaluable service and the whole “selection process” really does put your mind at ease.
We are now looking forward to booking a holiday knowing that Roxy will be looked after just like she is at home
We were not going on holiday if Fergus had to go into kennels, so PetStay saved the day. Lynne was friendly, noted all his little ‘foibles’ without raising an eyebrow and was very flexible when we asked for last minute changes in dates and times. I am pretty sure Fergus was not over thrilled to come home having enjoyed Lynne’s family so much!
Ollie is our 1 year old rescue dog who we’ve had for 6 months. He’s a great dog but needs attention and a lot of exercise. We chose Petstay so he could have his needs met as we felt a kennel would make him unhappy. I’m delighted to say Pat was an excellent carer for Ollie while we were away. He came home happy and Pat had continued his obedience training. Ollie will look forward to going back and seeing his buddy Bella and of course Pat for many more long walks.
Dolly & Duffy
Dolly and Duffy were so well looked after by Jack and Maureen. A really lovely couple who treated my dogs like their own. I would recommend Petstay to all my friends.
Would like to recommend PetStay as our much loved lab spent a couple of weeks with Lynne and her family in Inverness this summer and was very well looked after. It was so nice and reassuring to have updates / photos of Bonnie sent to us while we were away. We will definitely consider using again.
Just want to say thank you for picking Janice to keep Nanook. He had a great time and was so well looked after. Janice was great. Big thank you.
Janice looked after Meg as if she was her own dog, Meg even slept on Janice’s bed which was quite a treat for her. We were able to have 4 days holiday with peace of mind that Meg would be well looked after.
Tanya looked after Libby very well and set my mind at peace by putting pictures up for me to see whilst I was away. Libby was very happy and comfortable around her and her own pet. I was glad to hear all of the updates on our return of how she’d been. I would gladly recommend Tanya to anyone thinking of using PetStay.
Janice was lovely with Sasha and even let her sleep in the bed as she wouldn’t settle, that would have made Sasha very happy 🙂 I would definitely recommend you, Janice and the service to anyone and I wouldn’t even look at a Kennels now that I know Sasha can stay in a home as she is used to. Definitely cuts out the stress (although I did still manage to cry after I dropped her off!)
Mani & Forbie
I have just picked up Mani and Forbie after their stay with Maureen and Jack. I am absolutely delighted that my boys were so well looked after and obviously loved by them both. As I said after meeting them for the first time how lovely I thought they were, I still think that and then some! I took my daughter with me to collect the boys and she felt the same as me. I would not hesitate in booking Maureen and Jack again whenever I need Mani and Forbie looked after, they really are a fantastic couple and a great asset to your business.
Thank you so much for matching us up with them.
