Hello there, I’m Catriona. Welcome to your local PetStay branch for the Scottish Highlands and Moray areas.
Truffle lives next door, albeit, a mile away! I have always loved dogs but sadly don’t have any living at home just now, so going for walks with doggie friends and their owners is the next best thing.
I am delighted I found PetStay and am really looking forward to finding your dog(s) the perfect carer whilst you enjoy your holiday, safe in the knowledge they are well cared for and happy in a ‘home from home’ environment.
At PetStay, we understand that leaving your beloved dog while you’re on holiday is a big decision. That’s why we offer a trusted, home-based alternative to kennels, ensuring your dog enjoys a comfortable stay in a loving environment. With one-on-one care and no mixing of dogs from different households, we provide a stress-free experience tailored to your dog’s needs.
Personalised, Home-from-Home Care – Your dog stays in a cozy, caring home, just like their own.
Solo Boarding Only – We never mix dogs from different families, ensuring a calm and relaxed stay.
Tailored Matching Process – We carefully select the perfect carer for your dog’s personality and routine.
Meet & Greet Before Booking – You and your dog get to visit the carer’s home beforehand to ensure a great fit.
Fully Insured & Licensed – Your peace of mind is our priority, with full insurance and licensing in place.
Ongoing Support – Our team is here to help, offering 24/7 support for both owners and carers.
With PetStay, you can enjoy your time away knowing your furry friend is safe, happy, and being cared for like family.
All our carers love dogs and are experienced dog owners who provide the best care for your pet while you’re away. Each carer is personally interviewed by PetStay to ensure they offer a safe, loving, and comfortable home environment for your dog. We are fully licensed, and our carers are covered by our public liability insurance for your peace of mind.
Some of our carers may have a dog of their own. If your pooch is happy to stay with another friendly dog, we’ll arrange a meet-up so they can get acquainted and see if they’re a good match.
1. Get in Touch – Call or email your local PetStay branch to discuss your dog’s needs and your preferred dates.
2. Learn About PetStay – We’ll explain how PetStay works and guide you through the next steps.
3. Matching Your Dog – We’ll take all the details about your dog and match them with the most suitable carer available.
4. Meet the Carer – We’ll arrange a meeting for you and your dog to meet the carer and ensure a good fit.
5. Ready to Book – If you’re 100% happy with your carer, you’re all set to proceed with your booking.
6. Confirm Your Booking – Complete our online booking form and pay the arrangement fee within 5 days to confirm your booking.
7. Confirmation – You’ll receive an email confirming your booking details.
8. Stress-Free Booking – You’re all set! No worries, just anticipation for your time away.
9. Drop-Off Time – On your dog’s drop-off day, bring their food, bed, toys, and any other essentials to their carer’s home. At this point, you’ll pay the carer’s allowance directly to the carer.
10. Enjoy Your Holiday – Head off on your trip with complete peace of mind knowing your dog is in great hands.

Our daily rate is made up of two separate payments: the Arrangement Fee and the Carer’s Allowance. Together, these payments cover the full cost of your dog’s stay, ensuring they receive loving care in a safe and happy home.
Prices listed are per day (or part thereof), except for Bank Holidays, when the Carer’s Allowance is doubled — because we believe our wonderful carers deserve extra for their dedication during these special times!
The Arrangement Fee secures your dog’s booking and is due within five days of meeting your chosen carer. For repeat bookings, this fee must be paid within five days of your requested dates being confirmed by PetStay.
This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, as it covers the service provided by your local PetStay branch in carefully matching your dog with a suitable carer. It also contributes to essential operational costs, including:
The Carer’s Allowance is a separate payment, made directly to your chosen carer when you drop your dog off for their holiday. On Bank Holidays, this allowance is doubled, reflecting the extra commitment and care our carers provide during these times.
Together, the Arrangement Fee and the Carer’s Allowance make up the full daily rate for your dog’s stay.
For more details on Bank Holiday rates or any other inquiries, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

You must be a genuine dog lover, have experience of looking after dogs and you need to be home during the day so you have plenty of time to give to the dogs you are caring for. You must have a secure garden and agree to abide by PetStay guidelines. You are allowed to have a dog of your own as long as your dog gets on with other dogs.
If you meet all the requirements listed above, we will come and visit you at your home. We will check the security of the garden, explain PetStay procedures and show you the guidelines each carer needs to follow. If you are happy with everything and we feel you would make a suitable PetStay carer, we would follow up a reference and arrange public liability insurance for you.
Our service is on a one-to-one basis, so only dogs from the same household will stay with you. You are allowed to take up to three dogs from the same household, BUT you choose what you are happy with. We will ask you how many dogs you would like to look after and what sized dog/s you would be happy to care for.
No, the owner will bring any food or treats for the duration of the stay. Any toys, bedding, medication and leads will also be brought.
Yes each dog MUST have up to date vaccinations, have been wormed and treated for fleas. Proof of the vaccinations will be brought to the meeting and shown to you.
Taz had never been away from us before, Mary welcomed him into her home and really looked after him. Lovely lady who knew just what he needed and kept us informed on his progress. Would use again in future without hesitation.

PetStay matched our dogs perfectly with a couple that took great care of them for a week while we were away. They took note of all of our dogs little quirks and treated them as individuals. We think they had a better holiday than we did!!

We’ve used PetStay on a number of occasions for our RR Obi. He stays with a lovely couple who treat him like he’s one of the family. He always seems happy to be dropped off with Heather & Stuart and loves his holidays with them. Communications are always prompt and since our very first initial meet & greet Heather has been very helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend PetStay & Heather
Iain
My dogs Vaila and Jura enjoyed their stay with Heather. Walks in the woods and water play. Both their favourite things. They settled well and Heather kept contact with me while we were away. We would never use kennels and like PetStay as they are both looked after in a home environment. I will definitely use them again.
Christine
My experience with PetStay was fantastic from start to finish. I had to amend my dates early on and Catriona was in communication straight away.
This was my first time leaving my 3 year old pups and I was nervous, but Kay and Andy were so welcoming and made the pups feel at home. They sent me updates and photos every day. It has given me complete confidence in booking again with PetStay
Fiona
I just wanted to let you know how delighted we were to meet Susan and Brian, Max and Ruby had a lovely few days with them.
Karen
I’d never left my wee boy over night before but for my daughter’s wedding I had too. I needed have worried. Catriona at PetStay was brilliant and matched me up straight away with the wonderful June, David and wee Tara. Settling visits were arranged, communication was excellent and I had no qualms about leaving my baby with these amazing people. He had an absolute ball and was treated as their own. Forever grateful and will definitely recommend PetStay and June and David to anyone.
Sandra
I’ve been using PetStay for about 8 years and I am very grateful to Catriona and the many PetStay carers over the years. On his last stay, Sirius caught a bug and needed to go to the vet. Sam totally went above and beyond to get Sirius to the vets and then had to make sure she got pills into him. Sirius is totally fine, and according to the photos we’ve seen he had a great time too. I think he’s already planning his next stay.
James
Just wanted to say thank you so much for looking after Moss while we were away. It was so nice knowing he was in such good hands, being cared for and having lovely walks!
Rachel
We had to go away for a few days and were very apprehensive in leaving Biscuit. We could not leave Biscuit at a kennels, we found PetStay on line and the reviews looked good. We were connected with a lovely lady called Kay Cameron, she was great with Biscuit she took her on lovely walks and even met some of Kays friends whom she got lots of cuddles from which Biscuit absolutely loved. We will use PetStay and hopefully Kay next time we have to leave Biscuit.
Thank you,
Lesley
Just wanted to say thank you for organising Biscuits stay with Vicky at the weekend. We were really grateful for her to take him on last minute and she did brilliantly with him- got lots of pup updates and he looked like he had the best time with her.
Many thanks

PetStay matched our dog up with the perfect couple to look after her when we were away. We knew when we were first introduced and the way our dog Tali took to them, that this was the Ideal solution to finding someone to look after her. Kay and Andy, a retired couple like ourselves, were the perfect people to look after Tali our 7 year old Hungarian Vizsla who made herself at home right away. Tali enjoyed daily walks in the nearby woods with Kay and pottered around their safe enclosed garden with Andy. In the evenings Tali was fully relaxed, snuggling up next to Kay or Andy on their sofa or sound asleep in her bed. Tali (Kay) kept us informed daily on WhatsApp with photos and tales of what they did that day. Tali had such a good time, I wasn’t sure if she would want to come home!! Yes, we were very delighted with Tali’s boarding and would definitely let Kay and Andy look after her again.

This was our first time leaving our 10 month old sproodle sisters with anyone else. Heather was amazing with them, putting up with their little foibles and treating them as her own. They both thoroughly enjoyed their 12 day holiday and I know they would go back to stay with her again, likely without a backward glance as we left. We were nervous at first but after photo and video updates from Heather we were all totally reassured and able to relax and enjoy our break and enjoy our break without worrying at all. Thank you so much Heather and Catriona from PetStay Highland for arranging this, we will be back xx
Thank you again, we are delighted with the service we received.
Lynn
Have used PetStay on three occasions with our elderly dog Maya, and all the carers have been excellent. Not only did she enjoy her most recent holiday with Vicky, but it was lovely to receive messages and photos to let us know she was settling in well. Couldn’t have asked for more.
Carol
We’ve used PetStay before, but this was the first time Bruno had boarded. He’s a typical Vizsla and can be somewhat of a Diva. Kay and Andy were great from the first meeting until we came to take him home.
Clearly knew what they were doing and had dealt with the breed before, asking all the right questions and making you feel that’s he’s going to be well looked after and not just another dog. Offered us as many or as few ‘pupdates’ as we wanted when we were away and from the photos attached, he’d clearly made himself right at home without an invitation.
Thank you for such a great service and we’d be delighted to board him there again in future.
Doug
We recently used PetStay for the first time for our 10 year old dog and were very impressed by the professionalism of our local coordinator. Very in depth screening process which led to providing an excellent host for our dog. She was very well looked in a safe and loving environment. We would recommend this service and will use it again.
Derek
This was the first we had used PetStay and I wouldn’t hesitate in using them again. The process was really clear and expectations of both parties transparent. The carers were very welcoming and put us at ease. We visited them a couple of times before the stay and our pooch was quite happy going back each time. We feel that she was well looked after and she can stay again soon.
First time using PetStay as we were very concerned about putting our dog Maya into kennels at 15 ½years old. Being able to meet with Ann in her lovely home beforehand gave us great peace of mind that Maya would be well looked after and we weren’t disappointed, came back and Maya was very relaxed, happy and contented which was a huge relief to us. Many thanks, so glad we found you!
Thanks to Vicky Lilly’s first time away from home was relaxed and enjoyable, the regular up dates kept us reassured all was fine. Will definitely use PetStay again if possible.
Many thanks
