Here are the few simple stages of booking with PetStay.

1st: Ring or email your local branch to discuss your dogs requirements and dates.
2nd: We will explain all about PetStay and what your next steps would be.
3rd: We then take all details about your dog and then match them to the most suitable carer.
4th: A meeting will be organised for you and your dog to meet the carer.
5th: If you are 100% happy with your carer you would then be ready to book with PetStay.
6th: No later than 5 days after your initial meeting, complete our online booking form and pay the arrangement fee.
7th: An email confirmation will be sent to you.
8th: You’re all booked in and don’t have to worry about anything.
9th: Drop your dog off at the carer’s home with food, a bed, toys and anything else you think they might need.
10th: Go away with complete peace of mind and have a wonderful holiday.

*PetStay Arrangement Fee

Our daily rate is made up of the Arrangement Fee and the Carer’s Allowance.  These are 2 separate payments.  The Arrangement Fee is a payment to arrange and confirm the booking of your dog’s stay, and is due for payment within 5 days of meeting your dog carer.  For a repeat booking the Arrangement Fee is payable within 5 days of your requested dates being confirmed by PetStay.

The Arrangement Fee is non-refundable or non- transferable

The Arrangement Fee is for the service provided by your local PetStay branch in selecting a suitably matched dog carer for you and your dog.  The Arrangement Fee also represents a proportion of all the administration and ongoing business costs, including but not limited to, Public Liability and Employer Liability insurance, licensing, recruitment of carers, advertising, 24/7 support to carers, and business documentation giving you peace of mind and your dog a quality home dog boarding experience with PetStay.

The Dog Carer’s Allowance

The Carer’s Allowance is paid direct to the dog carer when you drop your dog off.

PetStay matched our dog up with the perfect couple to look after her when we were away. We knew when we were first introduced and the way our dog Tali took to them, that this was the Ideal solution to finding someone to look after her. Kay and Andy, a retired couple like ourselves, were the perfect people to look after Tali our 7 year old Hungarian Vizsla who made herself at home right away. Tali enjoyed daily walks in the nearby woods with Kay and pottered around their safe enclosed garden with Andy. In the evenings Tali was fully relaxed, snuggling up next to Kay or Andy on their sofa or sound asleep in her bed. Tali (Kay) kept us informed daily on WhatsApp with photos and tales of what they did that day. Tali had such a good time, I wasn’t sure if she would want to come home!! Yes, we were very delighted with Tali’s boarding and would definitely let Kay and Andy look after her again.

This was our first time leaving our 10 month old sproodle sisters with anyone else. Heather was amazing with them, putting up with their little foibles and treating them as her own. They both thoroughly enjoyed their 12 day holiday and I know they would go back to stay with her again, likely without a backward glance as we left. We were nervous at first but after photo and video updates from Heather we were all totally reassured and able to relax and enjoy our break and enjoy our break without worrying at all. We’ve used PetStay before, but this was the first time Bruno had boarded.  He’s a typical Vizsla and can be somewhat of a Diva.  Kay and Andy were great from the first meeting until we came to take him home.

Clearly knew what they were doing and had dealt with the breed before, asking all the right questions and making you feel that’s he’s going to be well looked after and not just another dog.  Offered us as many or as few ‘pupdates’ as we wanted when we were away and from the photos attached, he’d clearly made himself right at home without an invitation.

Mabel spent a wonderful week with Phyllis in Nairn. It was her first time away from her family she has known for the last 2 years – Mabel is a rescue dog. As an old lady of 12 years this was a daunting experience for us leaving her. Our miniature Dachshund Maeve is 2 and has never stayed away from home…and her sister Betty is just 10 months old – so we were a wee bit apprehensive about boarding them with someone we didn’t know. PetStay was recommended to us and I called Catriona with our dates. Catriona let us know that she may have someone suitable for the girls and would get back to us. An arrangement was made between Catriona and ourselves to meet Susan and Brian at their home with the dogs. I instantly felt at ease with Susan and Brian – they didn’t even bat an eyelid when I told them the dogs strange sleeping arrangements etc. Maeve can be a bit wary of strangers, but she went up to Susan and gave her a gentle kiss – so for me…that was the approval I needed. The girls were booked in for 3 nights and I didn’t worry one bit. Susan was a text away and let me know they were ok and being truly spoiled. When we arrived to collect the girls, they would both normally be crying…but they were calm and said hello…and carried on tottering around Susan and Brian home – I then knew instantly that they had been well looked after. Thankfully, Susan said she’d have them back anytime! Delighted to have tried PetStay and would highly recommend the service – especially Susan & Brian.

Chip stayed with a lovely gentleman called Chris at his home for the week. After our initial meeting with Chris at his home, we both had no reservations about leaving Chip with Chris.

We would like to say a big thank you to PetStay and Vicky who took such good care of Oscar when we finally managed to make it back to Sweden for the first time since the pandemic hit. We had our three dogs stay with Angela for the first time last week, we usually have breaks that we take the dogs on, but this time was not suitable. One of our dogs is particularly nervous of new situations and strangers, she is a rescue dog. Angela took the time to meet up twice with our dogs, and go for a walk together to see how they all got on. Before we were due to go on holiday our rescue dog Eddie had an abscess diagnosed on her back, had surgery and ongoing treatment with medication and dressings requiring regular changes. We were getting ready to cancel the holiday but Angela reassured us she was happy to look after Eddie and take care of her medical requirements. While we were away we received daily updates and photos of the dogs, so we could relax and see they were having a good time and getting cared for. When we got back although the dogs were pleased to see us, they were in no hurry to be loaded into the car and taken home. PetStay clearly know what they are doing when they find such good carers. We are looking forward to getting away again soon, knowing the dogs will be happy and very well cared for.

Vicky was amazing, Maya had the best time and we were absolutely thrilled with the photos and messages we received whilst away. Our PetStay sitter, Lorna, was obviously experienced in the care of many animals – she has ponies, dogs, hens, a rabbit, and a parrot. All were in excellent health and the huge garden was totally secure. Our big hairy dog is a friendly creature but he has previously come out of some kennels rather thin and unhappy. When we collected him yesterday he was the picture of health and happiness. We are relieved to know that Lorna would be pleased to have him back.

All my worries were melted away when I met Carol who was going to be Rogie’s carer when we were in Australia. We met twice beforehand, so Rogie could meet Larkin, Carol, s dog, and get to know the house and garden. Carol kept in touch and sent photos while we were away which was great. First time we left our little Mia our wee rescue dog so quite concerned. Ann met up with us prior to going ahead with with Mia staying. I cannot speak more highly of Vicky (and Pete) who have treated Barry so very well, it was as if we had never been away when we picked him up. They took plenty of time to make sure they knew what and when the dogs were fed, when they needed walked, and the rules we had for them at home. Blue and Hector were with Ann and Roger for just over two weeks and were very well looked after. When I arrived to pick them up they were pleased to see me but in no real hurry to leave- a good sign they enjoyed their stay. Both dogs were in fantastic condition when we collected them and our very greedy labrador was even the same weight as he was when we left him, so we know he got all the food and exercise he needed. PetStay is a much kinder option than kenneling and we will definitely be putting our dogs back to Ann and Roger when we next go away.

I must say Phyllis did not just look after Prince but she really cared for him.  We were really concerned about finding the right place for this lovely old dog, who loves people and hates dogs.  We certainly found that with Phyllis, she had him out walking, meeting other dogs and just being really well looked after.  We also got lovely reassuring e-mails whilst we were on holidays.  I totally recommend pet stay for finding the right carer for your special pet.  You have a wonderful carer in Phyllis.

Our Staffie is great with people and kids, but we are still working on his social skills with other dogs, so kennels weren’t suited for him.
Dropped him off after a fantastic initial meet and greet with Ken and Jenny who were so excited at how boisterous our boy was. Straight into a secure garden littered with tennis balls. We knew right away he was in great hands. When we came to pick him up, he was delighted to see us, but obviously having a Great time. Reassuring and enabled us to enjoy a break without worrying how he was. Thanks again. Highly recommended.

Hi Catriona, Thanks for your email re: the care Toddy received over Christmas with Mairi & Bill Orr. It was brilliant, I am glad to say, as this was my first experience of PetStay.
He settled well into the household (after a couple of nights a little unsure of himself) and then, when Mr Brodie arrived (lovely golden Labrador) for the holidays, they were great friends. They played tuggie together, had lovely walks and got on really well, as per attached picture. Mairi sent me several emails with pictures whilst I was away so that I was reassured of how happy he was. It made a huge difference to my enjoyment of Christmas knowing that he was happy, safe and being well looked after. I could not thank Mairi & Bill enough for giving Toddy such a caring stay in their home.

We booked our young Patterdale Terrier in for a PetStay at the end of Nov 2017 for the first time, and were extremely satisfied with both the service we received from Catriona during the booking process, and also our Pet Carers, Isobel and Billy during her stay. They welcomed her into their home as if she was part of the family, and she was relaxed and at ease with them straight away! When I collected her on the Monday, after her 3 night stay, she was happily wiped out after all the walks and playing… the opposite of how she was when we collected her from kennels previously. She quickly matched Sadie to pet sitters Ken and Jenny. A meeting was arranged and straight away, as soon as we met Ken and Jenny, I knew she was going to have a great time and receive lots of attention in a relaxed home environment. I was given the opportunity to call or text while I was away over the weekend to have regular updates on how Sadie was so that I wouldn’t worry. Sadie was very well looked after and bouncy and happy when we collected her. Just to let you know that Harvey had a great time when he stayed with Jo and James recently. He made friends with their new puppy too. It was great to meet Jo before
our holiday, that gave us real peace of mind that we were leaving Harvey with a nice family. I didn’t want to put him into boarding kennels as he was a rescue dog. It was definitely home from home. He had a fab time playing with the puppy and even helped James out with the painting one day!! Jo even sent us a couple of photos to let us know that Harvey was ok. Our Whippet, Ivor, loved his visit with Angela. After initially meeting Angela we had a lot of confidence that Ivor would be well cared for. Just to say a big thank you for the Petstay Highland Organisation you co-ordinate. What peace of mind it is. This was the first time we had left Orrin to go abroad on holiday, but Ann was great in sending us texts letting us know he had settled in. I took Orrin for an introductory visit before we went away, so Ann could meet Orrin beforehand and the house wasn’t completely alien to him when I dropped him off. The whole process from the booking stage right through was easy, uncomplicated and thorough as regards information for Ann re Orrin’s daily routine, vaccination record being checked and vets details being recorded. Orrin had a great time and I will 100% use Petstay (Ann if possible) again. Brilliant set-up. Would definitely recommend Petstay Highland to anyone. Thank you.

Our wee Yorkie, Roma, is afraid of other dogs, so when it came to going on holiday, we knew we couldn’t put her in a boarding kennel environment. Mac had a wonderful time with Vicky while we were away. Catriona was great in finding a place at such short notice too. This is the first time our ‘little one’ has been left with anyone else but family. Diesel is 8 year old Weimeraner has never stayed anywhere but home or with Grandada and Grandma. As myself and my mum &. Dad were away the same time(never happened before)Dilema??.
I booked him into a kennels however had second thoughts and decided he needed to be home from home so PetStay was the right decision.
When I phoned Catriona she took all the information and quickly came back with Ian in Alves which is 50 miles away from me he was so suited to Diesel great place for him to stay and Ian loves his hill walks so perfect for Diesel. PetStay Moray branch provided a seamless process from initial enquiry, through pre- booking visits to carer, formal booking and then two week stay for our two dogs. Catriona our first point of contact was very professional and personable and nothing was too much trouble to discuss or organise. All communication was prompt and detailed, adding to our sense of reassurance in trusting the welfare of our treasured ‘ladies’ to PetStay. This reassurance was particularly important as Chloe, our border collie was only recently acquired as a ‘rescue’ from the Scottish SCPA, so a sensitive and understanding carer was essential. Angela Radin, the carer, and her family did an amazing job whilst my wife and I enjoyed a relaxing break abroad, safe in the knowledge that Isla and Chloe were in good hands. Texts and photos were sent to us unprompted, by Angela, whilst we were away, and these were delightful surprises. There is no doubt that we will engage Angela again. Our Dog Rumour had a wonderful holiday with Lynne and her lovely family. This is the first time I have left my dog with a sitter that is not family and I was terrified! My fears were totally unjustified!! We received an email a couple of days into our holiday showing just how much fun our little Roxy was having of her own. She was matched up with a perfect couple. Of course she was delighted to see us but kept looking back at her foster parents to see why they were not coming with us.

I found PetStay online, it was a very simple and quick process from meeting the lovely lady who was to have my dogs, to filling in a form. Can’t fault the process at all. This was the first time my dogs went to stay somewhere different and I couldn’t of asked for better. Thanks again to the lovely Janice.

Tanya clearly loves dogs and provides such a good holiday home for dogs . We think Ted enjoyed having some dog company and got on well with Jura. This is the first time Ted has ever stayed away from home and we are glad he settled in well.

Having tried to book our dog Mungo into kennels at half term, at late notice to attend a funeral, I happened on Petstay. Catriona was most helpful and quickly arranged for us to meet a carer, Tanya and her dog. The meeting went well and Mungo stayed with Tanya for four days. Tanya was also flexible when the date of the funeral was uncertain. This gave us peace of mind that Mungo was happy and cared for and we will definitely use the service again. Thank you.

I was very nervous about leaving Roxy with strangers but after our first meeting with Maureen and Jack, felt quite confident that she would be very well looked after. I was right! We left her with them for a weekend just to see how she settled and waited by the phone for the call to say she was missing us so much we’d have to pick her up early! No call, just a text message from Maureen to say she was getting on great and not even crying for us! When we went to pick her up she was curled up on the sofa having cuddles with their grandson and looking very much at home.
This is an invaluable service and the whole “selection process” really does put your mind at ease.
We are now looking forward to booking a holiday knowing that Roxy will be looked after just like she is at home

We were not going on holiday if Fergus had to go into kennels, so PetStay saved the day. Lynne was friendly, noted all his little ‘foibles’ without raising an eyebrow and was very flexible when we asked for last minute changes in dates and times. I am pretty sure Fergus was not over thrilled to come home having enjoyed Lynne’s family so much!

Ollie is our 1 year old rescue dog who we’ve had for 6 months. He’s a great dog but needs attention and a lot of exercise. We chose Petstay so he could have his needs met as we felt a kennel would make him unhappy. I’m delighted to say Pat was an excellent carer for Ollie while we were away. He came home happy and Pat had continued his obedience training. Ollie will look forward to going back and seeing his buddy Bella and of course Pat for many more long walks.

Would like to recommend PetStay as our much loved lab spent a couple of weeks with Lynne and her family in Inverness this summer and was very well looked after. It was so nice and reassuring to have updates / photos of Bonnie sent to us while we were away. We will definitely consider using again.

Janice looked after Meg as if she was her own dog, Meg even slept on Janice’s bed which was quite a treat for her. We were able to have 4 days holiday with peace of mind that Meg would be well looked after.

Tanya looked after Libby very well and set my mind at peace by putting pictures up for me to see whilst I was away. Libby was very happy and comfortable around her and her own pet. Janice was lovely with Sasha and even let her sleep in the bed as she wouldn’t settle, that would have made Sasha very happy 🙂 I would definitely recommend you, Janice and the service to anyone and I wouldn’t even look at a Kennels now that I know Sasha can stay in a home as she is used to. Definitely cuts out the stress (although I did still manage to cry after I dropped her off!)

I have just picked up Mani and Forbie after their stay with Maureen and Jack. I am absolutely delighted that my boys were so well looked after and obviously loved by them both. As I said after meeting them for the first time how lovely I thought they were, I still think that and then some! I took my daughter with me to collect the boys and she felt the same as me. I would not hesitate in booking Maureen and Jack again whenever I need Mani and Forbie looked after, they really are a fantastic couple and a great asset to your business.
