PetStay Lincolnshire Branch

I have been using PetStay myself for a number of years before taking over the PetStay Hull & East Riding Branch and love it so much I have now taken over PetStay Lincolnshire – to offer bespoke home boarding for family dogs. I live in Willerby with my 2 daughters and Jax, our much-loved family dog. I have been around dogs for the majority of my life and would not be without them. I understand the effort and love owners put into the training and care of their dogs and from experience, I know that owners do not want to leave their furry family members in a kennel. I have been using PetStay myself for a number of years before taking over the PetStay Hull & East Riding Branch – to offer bespoke home boarding for family dogs.

Why Choose PetStay Lincolnshire

PetStay Lincolnshire offers a “home from home” whether you’re planning a trip for business, a weekend break or a fortnight get-away. The benefits of home boarding are being able to tailor make your dog’s “holiday” with PetStay. This means, we are able to follow the routines you already have in place at your own home, be that sleeping, feeding, exercise or companionship. Staying in a home environment means your dog will get lots of love and attention from a carer who will treat your dog as their own and that’s important, to you and to them!

My Host Families

I have handpicked my host families ensuring I only take on the very best. All carers are experienced dog owners and most importantly – love dogs! You can choose to either board your dog(s) alone or if your dog enjoys doggie company, with a carer who has a friendly dog of their own. A meeting will be set up so you and your dog(s) can meet their carer and see their holiday home beforehand. Safety is very important to us, so we never mix dogs from different families and we keep all dogs on leashes whilst walking in public places. Finally, all hosts are fully insured, regularly inspected by myself and inspected by the council to make sure they meet the stringent criteria required for the home dog boarding license.

Natasha - PetStay Hull & East Riding

How it Works

I take great care in getting to know you and your dog before they home board with PetStay and take full details of your dog so that I can find the perfect carer for him or her. We then would organise for you to visit the carer to make sure everyone is happy. I will guide you through the booking process and a “holiday list” will be provided of essential items that will need to be packed to make sure your dog(s) have their favourite things with them. So if you would like to book a holiday with us or find out more about our service, please do get in touch on the numbers or email below. I look forward to hearing from you and providing the very best home boarding that Lincolnshire have to offer.

Become a Carer

We are always on the lookout for quality dog carers so if you would like to apply to become a carer, I’d love to hear from you. All that is necessary is that you have experience in looking after dogs, are at home during the day and have a secure garden. You could become part of the PetStay Team by caring for someone else’s family dog in your home.

Natasha, PetStay Lincolnshire.

Carers Walking Dog

Frequently Asked Questions about becoming a PetStay Carer

What are the requirements of becoming a carer?

You must be a genuine dog lover, have experience of looking after dogs and you need to be home during the day so you have plenty of time to give to the dogs you are caring for. You must have a secure garden and agree to abide by PetStay guidelines. You are allowed to have a dog of your own as long as your dog gets on with other dogs.

How are your carers vetted?

If you meet all the requirements listed above, we will come and visit you at your home. We will check the security of the garden, explain PetStay procedures and show you the guidelines each carer needs to follow. If you are happy with everything and we feel you would make a suitable PetStay carer, we would follow up a reference and arrange public liability insurance for you.

How many dogs can I look after?

Our service is on a one-to-one basis, so only dogs from the same household will stay with you. You are allowed to take up to three dogs from the same household, BUT you choose what you are happy with. We will ask you how many dogs you would like to look after and what sized dog/s you would be happy to care for.

Do I have to provide the food?

No, the owner will bring any food or treats for the duration of the stay. Any toys, bedding, medication and leads will also be brought.

Does the dog/s have to be vaccinated?

Yes each dog MUST have up to date vaccinations, have been wormed and treated for fleas. Proof of the vaccinations will be brought to the meeting and shown to you.

What about walking the dogs?

All dogs should be taken out each day for walks. When you have your meeting with the owners all routines, including the number and length of walks, will be discussed. The dog is only ever walked on a lead.

What if the dog becomes ill?

We/you would endeavour to contact the owner or the emergency contact. The owner or the emergency contact would be liable for any expenses incurred in taking the dog to the vet.

Will I be paid?

You will receive a daily allowance starting from £15.00 per day.

What happens next?

If you are interested in becoming a carer, please ring us for an informal chat and ask any questions or email us with your details and we will come back to you. You can also use the contact form on the ‘contact us’ tab. If we feel you are suitable we would then arrange to visit you at home.

Our Reviews

I was so pleased that PetStay found me the perfect place for my dogs Sally and Sam. Jenny was just brilliant with them both even though she has a gorgeous dog herself. I would definitely recommend PetStay and hope that Jenny will be happy to have my 2 again when needed.

Can’t thank Linda and her partner enough for looking after Wesley, our rather large Lurcher. It was a real home from home for him. They were good enough to keep us updated via sms while we were away and it seems like both parties had a good time. Our only worry was if we would get Wes back when we returned from our hols! Would not hesitate to leave him there again..

Louie, my Maltese Terrier was looked after by the same family for about 3 or 4 years until they decided to retire. I was then left with the problem of finding someone to look after Louie as well as they did.

I searched the internet and bingo, I found a Helen and Alan, Petstay! My day was made. I contacted Helen to ask if she had someone in my area to look after Louie. She introduced Louie and I to Linda. Home from Home for Louie. He loves Linda and her family as much as they love him and he never goes without cuddles. The fact that I liked Linda straight away meant that I knew she was perfect for Louie. He has stayed with her for 2 or 3 times now and will be going back soon.

We have also been so lucky to meet Jackie. Louie also loves staying with her and has stayed with her a couple of times now. Jackie is wonderful with him.

Because Linda and Jackie are so popular and busy with the doggies they look after I have asked Helen to find me another minder and she has found Sheila for me. Louie will be staying with this lovely lady in August and I know he will be extremely happy with her.

I have to be careful with Louie as although he loves humans, he doesn’t get on with other dogs. This is managed so well by the lovely minders so I have no need to worry. We have been so lucky to find Helen and Alan and their team of minders that look after Louie so well and give him lovely home from home holidays give me piece of mind whilst they look after my fur baby.

Thankyou for arranging for our chi to reside with your carer last week. She did a fantastic job looking after her.

“ I first found Helen & Alan of Petstay through word of mouth from a colleague at work. It is a fraught business trying to find the right person to look after a very valuable member of your family.
I never have believed in the traditional boarding of dogs, I think it’s more akin to prison & given that Honey is a very precious member (although very noisy) member of our family it has to be right.
Honey has always gone to a very trusted sitter before, who unfortunately has had to give up, leaving us the huge task of finding someone who would love our little girl as much as we do.
Helen has been the consummate professional, through our first tentative enquiries, to the booking of our first sitter who seems absolutely smashing, (Honey’s first stay is later in the year)
There were a few minor changes with our itinerary, which Helen dealt with in a very cool & calm manner, giving us alternatives should we need it & ultimately sorting the answer for us.
We are looking forward to our little mini break later on in the year knowing our little girl is in a safe, friendly & caring environment, backed with all the necessary insurance, home visits, council certificates etc that a good organisation ultimately needs. “

Lincs-Rafferty Boots & Ru

Rafferty Boots & Rü

Searching around for the right person to take care of our boys was an exhausting process. However, when we got in touch with Helen and Alan at Pet Stay they were quick to understand exactly what we were looking for, they listened carefully to what we would like to have in a dog minder and were efficient in getting back to us.

This is how we discovered lovely Linda.

We haven’t looked back since.

When Rafferty-Boots and Rü first stay with Linda and her family, she was quick to get their beds and toys out to make her home feel like theirs- she was accommodating, warm and welcoming.

Linda took a genuine interest in both boys, she got down to cuddle and fuss over each of them, which was very comforting to see.

We know that Linda and her family treat our boys like their own, they really do.

Linda genuinely cares for Raffy and Rü and she gives them a lot of love- so do all of her family! It is reassuring to know that when they go to stay with Linda they’re loved and fussed over just as we would take care of them.

Linda is a natural with our boys. From their very first stay it was abundantly clear that Linda, Raffy and Rü have a special bond with each other.

Linda would tell us funny stories about what the boys had done and how they had behaved, and this would only have happened if the boys had felt completely at home with her.

What makes Linda very special is that not only does she care so lovingly and enthusiastically for our boys, but she also cares about us as owners. She understood completely that we like to know how they boys are getting on whilst they’re with her.

Linda does her upmost to keep us updated with what our boys are up to with regular photos of them enjoying themselves or relishing in the attention Linda and her family give them.

It is definitely reassuring to get texts and pictures whilst we can’t be with our boys, as it helps us to feel secure and happy that they’re also having a lovely time when we’re away.

We are so grateful and feel so lucky to have found Linda, and would highly recommend her services to anyone considering having their own dog home board.

And we have to add- it isn’t only Raffy and Rü that love Linda, we do too!

The Phelan-Heaths, May 2016

Earlier this year I met a lovely gentleman at the Brocklesby fair who told me all about Pet Stay, I explained about my crazy pup and her energetic personality. I was very anxious about leaving her but as soon as we met Carla my mind was made up and I couldn’t wait for Maisie to also enjoy a holiday! It was lovely knowing Maisie was in a loving home and it definitely was, I could see on collection that the two had formed such a good relationship, I have booked Maisie in again since and she is always so excited to go for a sleepover! We really can’t thank you enough for the fabulous care Maisie gets when staying with you.

Becky & Chris, December 2015

We have been extremely happy with the service we have received from PetStay in finding accommodation for Murphy whilst we have been away twice this year. It has been the first time that we have used this service and we would have no hesitation in recommending it to other dog owners. Murphy was placed in a home that was ideally suited to him and we couldn’t have been happier with the care that he received while we were away. Truly a “home from home”.
