PetStay Wiltshire Branch
Hi, we are Jacqui and Martyn of PetStay Wiltshire, with Max our Airedale. Max is now 8 years old but is still as bouncy as ever and is a much loved member of our family. We have looked after dogs for many years and want only the best for him. It was whilst looking for a place for him to stay when we went on holiday that we found out about PetStay.
Kennels can be quite traumatic for a family dog, used to lots of love and attention and we have had difficulties in the past with boarding Max, who was really isolated and unhappy in kennels among many unfamiliar dogs with a totally different routine.
PetStay, where your family pet gets to stay in the home of an approved carer who looks after them whilst you are away is a fantastic solution, providing the care, fuss and personal attention of being at home.
How it works
We have a team of handpicked and insured carers, who are fully checked and must meet very high criteria and safety standards set by us and the local council. Carers must be genuine, experienced dog lovers who will treat your beloved pet dog like their own.
We will match your dog to an appropriate carer based on where you live and the needs of your own pet. A carer is exclusive to you for the duration of your booking, up to three dogs from one household can stay at any one time.
We will arrange for you and your dog to meet your carer in their home so you can talk through your dog’s routine, discussing for example where they sleep, how many walks they have each day and food and treats. This visit means your dog will be familiar with the carers, their home surroundings and provides you with complete peace of mind. We organise your booking after meeting the carer and once you are completely happy.
Why choose PetStay?
We are very passionate about what we do here at PetStay, our carers never mix dogs from different households, dogs are never walked off lead and a high percentage of our bookings are repeat customers and recommendations from people that know their dogs have been well looked after.
Whether you are planning a trip for business or pleasure, a weekend break or a fortnight’s getaway PetStay give you the peace of mind to be able to relax knowing your dog is enjoying their own holiday!
If you would like more information regarding booking, or maybe you’re a dog lover who would like to apply to become a carer, please call us for a no obligation informal chat.

Frequently Asked Questions about becoming a PetStay Carer
What are the requirements of becoming a carer?
You must be a genuine dog lover, have experience of looking after dogs and you need to be home during the day so you have plenty of time to give to the dogs you are caring for. You must have a secure garden and agree to abide by PetStay guidelines. You are allowed to have a dog of your own as long as your dog gets on with other dogs.
How are your carers vetted?
If you meet all the requirements listed above, we will come and visit you at your home. We will check the security of the garden, explain PetStay procedures and show you the guidelines each carer needs to follow. If you are happy with everything and we feel you would make a suitable PetStay carer, we would follow up a reference and arrange public liability insurance for you.
How many dogs can I look after?
Our service is on a one-to-one basis, so only dogs from the same household will stay with you. You are allowed to take up to three dogs from the same household, BUT you choose what you are happy with. We will ask you how many dogs you would like to look after and what sized dog/s you would be happy to care for.
Do I have to provide the food?
No, the owner will bring any food or treats for the duration of the stay. Any toys, bedding, medication and leads will also be brought.
Does the dog/s have to be vaccinated?
Yes each dog MUST have up to date vaccinations, have been wormed and treated for fleas. Proof of the vaccinations will be brought to the meeting and shown to you.
What about walking the dogs?
All dogs should be taken out each day for walks. When you have your meeting with the owners all routines, including the number and length of walks, will be discussed. The dog is only ever walked on a lead.
What if the dog becomes ill?
We/you would endeavour to contact the owner or the emergency contact. The owner or the emergency contact would be liable for any expenses incurred in taking the dog to the vet.
Will I be paid?
You will receive a daily allowance starting from £15 per day.
What happens next?
If you are interested in becoming a carer, please ring us for an informal chat and ask any questions or email us with your details and we will come back to you. You can also use the contact form on the ‘contact us’ tab. If we feel you are suitable we would then arrange to visit you at home.

“This was our first time leaving Sparky (he’s 5!). Jacqui was very helpful on the phone. The booking all went smoothly. She put me in touch with Sarah and after our initial meeting I felt confident that Sparky would be fine. Indeed coming to collect him after our holiday, Sparky only had eyes for Sarah! A sure sign he had had a good time. Thank you.”
“Fantastic!! Sarah was absolutely wonderful. Right from our first meeting. Leaving our new puppy was tough, but Sarah was so loving and caring we knew Daisy would be just fine. Regular updates while we were away really reassured us that she was OK. 100% recommend using PetStay.”
“The service was exemplary and the dogs obviously had a great time. Mary and Nick were really understanding in that we were a little later back than we had planned as our son spent two days of our break in hospital and wasn’t released until the Friday. We will certainly come to you again.”
“We were delighted with the service provided by PetStay and Bacardi had a lovely time with Ruth. Bacardi is a nervous dog and doesn’t get along with just anyone, so it was marvellous to have a carer hand-picked for him. We were able to relax on holiday without worrying about how he would get on.”
I just want to say a big thank you for introducing us to Sarah! We picked Wilma up this afternoon and it was evident just how happy she was there. She was obviously pleased to see us but equally as happy playing with Sarah’s dog Elsie and looked very much at home.
Whilst we were away, we had several updates and photos from Sarah and were completely reassured that she was having as good a time as we were.
I have told Sarah that we will definitely be in touch with you again next time we need somebody to look after Wilma. She was amazing and we couldn’t have asked for anybody better to take care of our little pooch.
Jacqui and Martin looked after my boisterous English Bull Terrier as a trial run for Summer Holidays later in the year. They clearly love their own and other visiting dogs and were very reassuring during this first stay for Frank our 1 year old. No hesitation in recommending them !!!!
Whenever a friend gets a dog, I highly recommend PetStay.
The peace of mind is priceless, knowing my fur baby is cared for in a ‘home from home’ environment !
Mary & Nick were simply wonderful and sent lots of photos throughout my holiday.
Simba was the best companion for Lily and she truly didn’t want to leave … already planning for 2018.
Louise – Marlborough
Florence & Teddy
We were so worried about finding somewhere for our 2 dogs Florence & Teddy to stay.
Teddy is a rescue dog & so can be nervous.
Then we found Pet stay & Katy.
We need not have worried as they were lovingly looked after so well by Katy, a home from home.
So much so Florence would have loved to have stayed there.!
It was very easy to book their stay & Katy was very helpful.
Florence & Teddy are now booked in for their next stay.
Thank you once again Katy.
Mary & Tom – Marlborough
I would recommend PetStay to anyone wanting their dog looked after whilst they are away – whether for a short break or a longer trip. Katy made the booking and organisation very simple for us and was in constant contact with us through the entire procedure. Pat who looked after Rupert was fantastic – keeping us up to date with photos and messages throughout our entire trip. We were so much more comfortable and relaxed on holiday knowing that Rupert was being cared for so well. He cannot wait to stay again and we will be using PetStay for any further trips away.
Shella & Mike
The organisation of Lexie’s first holiday away from us was well planned and the carers suggested were first class.
The checklist provided, and the fact that we were able to meet the carers, and introduce our dog to them before making any commitment was prudent, and gave both the wife and I, every confidence that she would be well looked after.
The fact that they had their own dog, and were understanding of our concerns with regards to our prized pet, was much appreciated, & the facilities they gave Lexie were excellent, in that, they had ample space to allow Lexie to roam freely, but safely, and also knew exactly what to do, to settle her down on her first time away from us.
Indeed within 24hours she was very happily ensconced at the carers and we received regular photographs of how well she was, which enabled us to fully enjoy our holiday and have no concerns.(Photograph attached to demonstrate how well she settled).
The carers basically took Lexie in and treated her as their own for the week, and she certainly appeared to enjoy her time and walks with them.
We are so pleased with the Carers (Mary & Nick) that we would really like them to look after Lexie again when we book our next holiday.

We have 2 much loved and pampered french bulldogs, one of whom has a number of health problems. Katy looked after them beautifully while we were away for 3 weeks. She sent us photographs and updates which was very reassuring and although we were having a fantastic time, we missed them and loved hearing what they were up to. We were delayed on our way home by bad weather and our flight was late in, necessitating our pooches having to stay another night. This was no problem to Katy and we are very grateful. Whilst our two were pleased to see us, I don’t think they really missed us!

Collected Biggles from his lovely carers this morning. He has had a fantastic holiday and made himself very much at home with Debbie and Paul. They have been superb and caring hosts and seem to know instinctively what will make their doggie guests happy. They kept in touch throughout our holiday and even sent pictures. We are more than happy with his care and are very grateful to you and PetStay for matching him with his ideal family. As you know, he had previously stayed with the same carer since he was a puppy 7 years ago and we were worried that he wouldn’t settle somewhere new but we were proved wrong and look forward to our remaining holidays this year knowing that he will be happy and well loved by Debbie and Paul. I am more than happy for you to use this as a testimonial and am sure Debbie and Paul can supply you with some lovely photos.
When I first met Jane and her lovely dog Bert I knew that I had found his perfect holiday home. She and her daughter Sian made me feel so welcome and answered all my questions and noted all our wishes for Jasper’s stay. Having another (very friendly) dog for Jasper to play with really helped him settle. Jane kept in touch throughout our holiday and sent regular pictures which clearly showed he was being cared for and was having a great time. Delighted with the service of Petstay and with the family we were placed with in particular. Would highly recommend.
I was delighted to discover PetStay. Katy from the first contact has been prompt and keen to listen to us to find us a great match with Helen & Rolf.
We had a really welcoming first meeting with Helen & Rolf, who were kind, professional and very attentive to Poppy. They took great care to find out all they could about her and to show me how she could fit into their cosy home. I came away without a single worry – she’s 4 and I have only ever left her over night with close friends twice!
Poppy then settled with them for 2 days complete with a healing ear that Helen & Rolf were happy to manage. During her stay we received a little reassuring update and at the end we shared laughs over her little playful habits they had discovered. Poppy returned home showing absolutely no signs of stress and settled back into life at home without missing a beat.
I am so excited to have found a home from home for Poppy allowing us worry free down time away.
We have found PetStay to be a truly wonderful ‘Home from Home’ service, which we cannot recommend highly enough. All of the carers who have had our dog Oliver to stay have been friendly and caring and made us all feel welcome in their homes. Oliver likes to stick to his routines and has his own funny little ways. The PetStay carers always follow our guidelines so that he keeps to his usual routine, which makes the stay worry and stress free for us and him! All of our carers have sent update texts and photos of Ollie so that we know how he is getting on, which is a lovely touch. During his stay last week, he enjoyed lovely walks and being made a fuss of. We knew it had all gone well and laughed when we arrived to collect him, as we could see through the living room window that Oliver was asleep on the sofa in front of a roaring log fire, bliss! What more could you wish for?
Sammie & Bella
Ruth was amazing, she took the best care ever of Sammie & Bella. They had a fabulous time and no problems as you know Sammie was nervous but she was made welcome and soon settled in. They are looking forward to staying with Ruth and her family in the new year. I have no problem recommending Pet Stay to anyone looking for special attention.
We had a lovely time thank you and all the better for knowing Candy was being so well cared for.
We had several messages from Mich and Gordon and photos sent and they showed just how happy and settled she looked. We were able to fully relax and not worry about her at at all, in fact my only worry was that she may not want to come home!
She was thoroughly spoilt and even had her own armchair even though I had sent her with her own bed. You can see Gordon and Mich genuinely care about the dogs they look after. Candy is quite a character and knows what she wants, she can be quite stubborn but Gordon and Mich took it all in their stride and accommodated her little foibles. They are lovely people and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and will definitely be using them again.
I thank them from the bottom of my heart for taking such good care of our old lady and thank Petstay for finding such lovely people who genuinely care for the animals that they look after so that owners can go away and not worry about their pets.
Our dog Martha had a fantastic couple of days with Debbie and Paul. We had lots of texts and photos. She was very well cared for and loved, in fact she is going back in April.
Ruby & Dexter
We have today collected our two babies from the lovely Georgie & Brian after their three night stay with them for the first time. Thank you both very much for looking after Roxy & Dexter so well for us. We have already booked for next April with them and we will most definitely be using this amazing service again. We cannot recommend PetStay enough.
Jane is such a lovely lady. She was sensitive to our requirements for Amber. She txt and sent us a photo of Amber to put our minds at ease. She treated Amber as one of the family, giving her lots of fuss and attention. All in all, an excellent choice. We would certainly look to using her services again. Also I would recommend PetStay to other dog owners.
So thank you once again
This was the first time I had to look into boarding for my dog, I’d been putting it off but our short break was getting ever closer so I bit the bullet and contacted Katie at PetStay Wiltshire. She was really understanding about my reluctance and completely put my mind at ease. She said she had the perfect couple to take care of our dog. Katie couldn’t have been more helpful. The couple she was teaming us up with were away until the day before we were due to go away. This meant the normally well pre-planned meeting between myself and the host family to test mutual suitability could only be done the day before our break. Katie assured us we’d find the host family completely suitable but she had a plan B incase by a freak of compatibility we didn’t get on. Well ………………… I took my bonkers 16 month old Floss to meet Gordon and Mich. I could have cried with relief. They were so welcoming, and Floss took to them, their lovely home and gorgeous dog Maisie immediately. All my fears dissipated as soon as we walked into Gordon and Mich’s home. Any reservations you might have about leaving your precious dog in a strange home please be assured it can be the perfect solution. I didn’t have one single worry or concern whilst I was away, I knew Floss was being cared for by a loving couple and their dog. I would absolutely recommend any one to use PetStay Wiltshire
Very happy with the service provided, it was as if it were a home away from home for our Chewy. Already planning our next holidays to take advantage of this wonderful service. Sonia and family are highly recommended.
I was delighted with the attention to detail by PetStay to ensure my dog would enjoy a truly home environment whilst we were away. I appreciated the opportunity to visit her assigned carer in her own home beforehand and the fact that the information required by PetStay about my dog ensured that nothing was left to chance. I also felt very comfortable that she would be the only dog being cared for, rather than one of a group of dogs which is so often the case. She had the best of personal care even to the point of sleeping in the carers own bedroom rather than on the landing outside (which she does at home). When I collected her she was pleased to see me but also quite reluctant to leave her carer which had to be a positive sign. I have no hesitation in recommending PetStay to anyone looking for top quality personal care for their dog.
I was very happy when, somebody, recommended PetStay to me. Though it was relatively late (end of June -… I think..) and i needed to leave Poppy behind for 5 weeks, from the end of July till the end of August, you have been very helpful, efficient and quick in finding a good home for her.
The couple we went to meet, immediately made us feel we were already part of the family: that meant that I could trust them and, therefore, Poppy was immediately getting on with them as well, and, in fact, I know that, afterwards it was very easy for her to settle down.
I particularly like the fact that PetStay required all sort of documents to be up to date, from vaccination, to microchip number being available, as well as, a home visit so that the environment Poppy has being living in, was being checked as well.
I went away knowing that Poppy not only was going to be looked after impeccably, but, also she was having a real good time as well (four walks a day!) and that, had been such a relief, and, therefore I didn’t worry about her while I was away and, so, enjoyed my Holiday.
I am sure that Poppy as well as lots of walks, she had plenty of care, attention and love and thousands of cuddles, much more than she is used here at home!
I would definitely recommend PetStay (certainly 5 stars!!!) and in fact I have already made a provisional booking for next year!
Max & Poppy
I just wanted to say how delighted we were with the service that Gilli provided for Max and Poppy! They were so well cared for and Gilli and her husband, Tyrone, were clearly experienced when it comes to doggie handling and were incredibly understanding when it came to our (natural) concerns with leaving Max and Poppy whilst we went on holiday.
I would have absolutely NO hesitation recommending Pet Stay, nor do I have any hesitation praising Gilli for the wonderful service she provided. She is an absolute credit to Pet Stay, so hopefully she will remain as a carer on your books for many years to come!
I had a lovely holiday thank you. I was very happy leaving Jack with Sue, if he could talk I’m sure he would say he had a lovely holiday with Sue and Archie. He was well looked after with long walks and lots of cuddles he loves them. Sue said he would’nt eat to begin with she hand fed him till he settled in that was very caring of her, I can’t thank her enough. I will be very happy to use your services in the future
Jack & Ollie
I was over the moon with the service you offer, Pat did an amazing job, I can’t thank her enough for the care and attention she gave my boys and Ollie had to take medication, I had pictures and videos every day, a message from Pat every morning and evening saying what they did and how they are, so I didn’t have any worries whatsoever when I went away, bearing in mind they have never been left before and are 10 & 11.
“I just want to say thank you to PetStay for giving me reassurance from the first phone call that my dogs would be loved and cared for. I’ve never left my boys before and are aged at 10/11, so had mixed feelings about all of this. When I had my first meeting with Pat, my worries went straight out the door, she welcomed my boys into her home with open arms, smiles, love and affection and even asked, would I mind if they get on the sofa. I knew everything would be fine. So my two week holiday was relaxing because I knew my precious boys were being taken care of, I had pictures, video’s and up-dates of how they are, what they had been up to, I really couldn’t off asked for more. I know the boys fell in love with Pat and she treated them like they were her own. I wish I had discovered this years ago!”
Thank you so much Katy for looking after Bella whilst we were away for a week. It was the first time we had left her and we had struggled to find a carer suitable who could look after Bella at short notice. Katy was so helpful and went out of her way to provide us with the care. We were so relieved when we visited the family and their pug Missy, they all got on so well. Bella had a Lovely week, we had lots of updates on how she was doing. It put us all at ease knowing she was with such a lovely family and having fun. We would definitely recommend PetStay and will be booking in for next year!! ??❤️
Our boy Bullseye recently stayed with Lyn and Danny. He had an amazing time and even missed them when he got home, his sulky face said it all We received updates and pictures which was fab. So pleased he was part of the family. Couldn’t recommend PetStay enough. Thank you to all involved in Bullseyes holiday ❤
Thanks PetStay for arranging for Angela and Michael to look after our dog Prince for a weekend, they were a lovely couple and we knew that he was going to be looked after really well and we didn’t have to worry about leaving him. Highly recommended
Penny & Jack
Just to let you know our two dogs Penny and Jack had a lovely stay with Georgie , Brian and Alfi the dog. Last weekend, very pleased , we felt like they had taken them into their house as their own , would have no hesitation to book with PetStay again if it ever arises.
Blossom & Freddie
My doggies had a lovely time with pet stay, truly a home from home experience. Gave me a huge sense of relief to have such a lovely family to leave my babies with, Mitch and Gord spoilt my dogs as if they were their own. Picked my doggies up happy and loved. Can’t ask for more than that. Thank you PetStay ❤️
Daisy has just had her very first stay away from home. What can I say, she absolutely loved Jane and her family and had a fantastic time. She was so happy there and, I must admit, reluctant to come home, she was so happy!! Thanks again Jane for looking after my furbaby so well, she cant wait to see you again in October.
All I can say is what a fantastic service you provide. The dog carer Jane is amazing she looked after Sammy like her own . He was so happy with her and her family
I couldn’t possibly have been happier with service provided PetStay or felt more at ease leaving Cassie with Gilli.
Many, many thanks!!!
Our beloved Paddy recently spent two weeks in the care of Sue and Kev and their beautiful lurcher, Archie. It was his third visit and we left him knowing he would be cared for and loved like a family member. Sue sent us a couple of reassuring emails and photos and we knew, without the shadow of a doubt that he was happy. The only downside was that he missed Archie when he got home and was on the lookout for him! I was never happy putting Paddy in kennels but we now have the perfect solution, with PetStay.
The service was great, the second time we have used you and on both occasions the carers were Georgie and Brian.
Petstay is without a doubt the only dog care needed. It’s a home from home service provided by those that love welcoming your dog into their home. Until I came across Petstay a holiday without Ollie wouldn’t have been possible. Ollie loved staying with Georgie and Brian so much we are already planning the next trip!
Skye & Jade
I have been more than impressed with the service that you supply which has been trouble free from the outset. Georgie and Brian have taken extra care of Skye and Jade and even attended a pre-arranged visit to the vets. I am delighted with all aspects of their care and will certainly contact you again should I require Pet Stay services.
Simon , Devizes
Thank you PetStay! Thank you Lyn and Danny for looking after Tiberius. Was so nice going away knowing our boy was going to be well taken care of and loved.
JoAnn , Larkhill
Nick and Mary were fantastic in looking after Jura. Jura was settled and happy during his holiday and had so much fun on walks and runs. We couldn’t be any happier with the service from PetStay or the carers and would use them again very soon and recommend to everyone.
Evie , Warminster
Jasper had a great stay with Sue, he was really happy and contented whilst he was with her. Sue messaged regular updates so I knew he was happy and well cared for. I would definitely use PetStay again.
Sarah , Chiseldon
We had a lovely holiday and it seems that Raven also had a wonderful time. He learned to swim and was kept busy and didn’t get into too much mischief.
I can very happily recommend the services of PetStay as it is important to us that Raven has a wonderful time too. He had the time of his life with his PetStay family and is looking forward to his next visit, no doubt hoping we go away for a fortnight this time!
Thanks for the service you provide.
Louise , Salisbury
I was a slightly anxious dog owner as to where to leave our dog when we went away on holiday. I telephoned PetStay and spoke to Ellen who was lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful and informative about the PetStay service and put me completely at ease and confident about the care Hettie would receive.
A big thank you to PetStay for putting us in touch with Sonia and her family. We have left our dog Hettie with Sonia a few times now and she looks after her so well. It gives us complete peace of mind when we go away on holiday knowing how well she is being cared for and how much attention she receives. It now feels like we are leaving Hettie with a friend. We will have no hesitation in leaving Hettie with Sonia in the future and cannot recommend the service highly enough.
Derick & Yvonne , Salisbury
We were delighted with our first experience of PetStay, both with the welcome and efficiency of the administration, and with Lyn and Danny as Bonnie’s first minders.
We know Bonnie was treated like one of the family and that she thoroughly enjoyed herself, because she stayed in e-mail contact throughout our holiday, sending us photos of what she got up to.
It was so reassuring for us to know that Bonnie was in good hands while we were away and she seemed reluctant to leave when we collected her. She will definitely be returning for other stays at her “home from home”.
Kind regards and a big “thank you” for making this possible.
Mike & Jill
We have two Jack Russells. One aged 12, the other 1! Both however full of life and very affectionate. PetStay could not have been more helpful and thorough, and the dogs’ first stay was a big success! They are now safely booked in with their lovely carer for the next breaks we are away. We are happy and relieved to be able to leave them knowing they are in safe hands.
Lavinia Frank, Salisbury
Penny & Buster
Had wondered about using a Pet Sitter before and wish we had so much earlier. Our dogs had a great stay with their hosts and were much happier / calmer when coming home than they would have been in kennels. PetStay is the way to go – no contest!
Ian Lamb, Devizes
We were worried as this was the first time we left our pet which proved there was no need too as the carers were excellent. We would them highly. Also the service was reassuring from the first phone call and meetings. Will continue to use PetStay.
Richard Belton, Trowbridge
I found Pet Stay on a Google search as I was looking for an alternative to asking a family member or put our very special doggy Poppy into Kennels. What a great find. Ellen was very efficient and once she spoke to me she knew straight away that Rachel Proud was the perfect match. We met with Rachel and was very happy that poppy would get a home from home while we were away. Rachel sent regular updates and photos that again highlighted the massive difference between kennelling and Petstay. Poppy spent the last two days with Ellen and she dropped Pops back home when we returned. It was worth every penny and I have no hesitation in recommending Petstay for any dog owner. A very special thank you to Rachel and Ellen x

What amazing service! We had a panic as our kennels let us down at the last minute as we got stuck in traffic and so were late arriving…so driving to Centre Parcs Longleat with our dog and nowhere to leave her! We were recommended to call Ellen who quickly reassured us she could help and with practically no notice set us up for Scarlett to look after our cockapoo for three nights. We have never been so relieved as when we arrived to such a warm welcome…lovely bed and toys for Coco and even the offer of a warm bath! She settled in immediately and was so well looked after. We were kept up to date with lovely photographs and reassuring texts. A totally amazing service, no way we would use a kennel…and now just need to find a Scarlett closer to home! thank you, thank you, thank you. Charlotte, Mike and family…
My sweet Purdey jack russell had a great time with Ellen and her lovely dogs at Petstay Wilts. Purdey’s sometimes a grumpy old lady but I collected her happy and reluctant to leave her new friends. What peace of mind to have a happy and safe home from home available for her. Thanks from us…
