Welcome. My name is Kate and I own the South Warwickshire branch of PetStay. I have grown up around a variety of animals, and dogs have always been a huge part of my life. I currently have an English Pointer called Henry, a cat and chickens.
Previously I owned my own boarding cattery for five years and I trained in Equine Business Management, which also included equine remedial therapy.
As Henry is visually impaired, I am acutely aware of the concern of owners when they leave their loyal friend in the hands of another person.

Here are the few simple stages of booking with PetStay.
1st: Ring or email your local branch to discuss your dogs requirements and dates.
2nd: We will explain all about PetStay and what your next steps would be.
3rd: We then take all details about your dog and then match them to the most suitable carer.
4th: A meeting will be organised for you and your dog to meet the carer.
5th: If you are 100% happy with your carer you would then be ready to book with PetStay.
6th: No later than 5 days after your initial meeting, complete our on-line booking form and pay the arrangement fee.
7th: An email confirmation will be sent to you.
8th: You’re all booked in and don’t have to worry about anything.
9th: Drop your dog off at the carer’s house with food, a bed. toys and anything else you think they might need.
10th: Go away with complete peace of mind and have a wonderful holiday.
*PetStay Arrangement Fee
Our daily rate is made up of the Arrangement Fee and the Carer’s Allowance. These are 2 separate payments. The Arrangement Fee is a payment to arrange and confirm the booking of your dog’s stay, and is due for payment within 5 days of meeting your dog carer. For a repeat booking the Arrangement Fee is payable within 5 days of your requested dates being confirmed by PetStay.
The Arrangement Fee is non-refundable or non- transferable
The Arrangement Fee is for the service provided by your local PetStay branch in selecting a suitably matched dog carer for you and your dog. The Arrangement Fee also represents a proportion of all the administration and ongoing business costs, including but not limited to, Public Liability and Employer Liability insurance, licensing, recruitment of carers, advertising, 24/7 support to carers, and business documentation giving you peace of mind and your dog a quality home dog boarding experience with PetStay.
The Dog Carer’s Allowance
The Carer’s Allowance is paid direct to the dog carer when you drop your dog off

We do all the hard work! Don’t worry about bookings as we will take care of them. We think it’s important for you to concentrate on all the fun of caring for a guest dog. Frequently Asked Questions about becoming a PetStay Carer
What are the requirements of becoming a carer?
You must be a genuine dog lover, have experience of looking after dogs and you need to be home during the day so you have plenty of time to give to the dogs you are caring for. You must have a secure garden and agree to abide by PetStay guidelines. You are allowed to have a dog of your own as long as your dog gets on with other dogs.
How are your carers vetted?
If you meet all the requirements listed above, we will come and visit you at your home. We will check the security of the garden, explain PetStay procedures and show you the guidelines each carer needs to follow. If you are happy with everything and we feel you would make a suitable PetStay carer, we would follow up a reference and arrange public liability insurance for you.
How many dogs can I look after?
Our service is on a one-to-one basis, so only dogs from the same household will stay with you. You are allowed to take up to three dogs from the same household, BUT you choose what you are happy with. We will ask you how many dogs you would like to look after and what sized dog/s you would be happy to care for.
Do I have to provide the food?
No, the owner will bring any food or treats for the duration of the stay. Any toys, bedding, medication and leads will also be brought.
Does the dog/s have to be vaccinated?
Yes each dog MUST have up to date vaccinations, have been wormed and treated for fleas. Proof of the vaccinations will be brought to the meeting and shown to you.
What about walking the dogs?
All dogs should be taken out each day for walks. When you have your meeting with the owners all routines, including the number and length of walks, will be discussed. The dog is only ever walked on a lead.
What if the dog becomes ill?
We/you would endeavour to contact the owner or the emergency contact. The owner or the emergency contact would be liable for any expenses incurred in taking the dog to the vet.
Will I be paid?
You will receive a daily allowance starting from £14 per day.
What happens next?

I contacted Charlotte at pet stay Warwickshire to see if she could arrange a host for our cocker spaniel, Eva. Eva is a loving but mischievous young dog who likes to think she is in charge so we needed the right sort of person to bond with her! Charlotte worked fast and found us an amazing host Andrea who we met prior to our holiday to see if her and Eva would hit it off-luckily Andrea was happy to have Eva to stay. Being first-time dog owners, we felt so reassured that Eva would be well cared for and we were not disappointed! Andrea was fantastic; she treated Eva like one of the family and the two of them got on really well. Needless to say, we were so relieved and were able to have a great holiday. Charlotte liaised with Andrea to make sure all the paperwork was completed and followed up to find out how Eva got on. I’ve never liked putting my dog in kennels whilst my family and myself go abroad on holiday. For me it’s akin to sending them to Boot Camp. However, with PetStay it is a completely different arrangement. After filling in the ‘long’ booking form and showing evidence of the required vaccinations etc. Then all systems are go. Our pet Labrador ‘Ruby’ was wonderfully cared for by Major Su. We had updates and photos sent to us whilst on holiday. In fact it was 5star all the way. With Su’s patience and kindness we were relaxed from the moment we first met her. The garden was huge and Su’s own dog, Skip had a lovely nature and befriended Ruby the moment they met each other. I understand Ruby missed us initially, it’s the first time we’ve been abroad for a while but with Su’s loving and kind nature towards our Ruby with exercise and attention I cannot thank her enough, she is truly an amazing star!
Charlotte carefully matched our poodle Lottie, with wonderful dog sitter Andrea. It was the first time we had left our pampered pooch, but we went away knowing that she was in a safe environment with all her habits and needs catered for – a real home from home stay. We were updated regularly while we were away, and felt completely confident that Lottie was having a good time. We will be using PetStay again next year and would highly recommend their professional service.

I was particularly grateful as there were plenty of fireworks over the weekend which Alfie is absolutely petrified of. They made him his own little den to try to make him feel safe and gave him the run of the house.

I think Su is a fantastic carer and for Dexter’s first time away from me, she was the ideal person to have him. Just wanted to say a big thank you for your help in providing a carer for our gorgeous little Westie. I thought Phil and Evelyn were a lovely couple, very relaxed and friendly, just perfect for looking after Bentley. They kept in touch while we were away and sent a few pics which just gives that reassurance that everything is ok. He went on lots of walks and enjoyed sitting on their window ledge looking out of the window. I would have no hesitation in using Petstay again and just hope that Phil and Evelyn are available next time.

Our precious boy was extremely well cared for with the lovely Hayley, Nick and family who spoilt him rotten and coped well with his cheeky ways. He was extremely content and relaxed when we came to collect him 10 days later, which believe has not always been the case when staying in kennels.

We are very happy with the service provided by Petstay, and cannot praise sufficiently the high standard of care that was provided for our dog, Jack during his fortnight with his carers, Phil and Eve. As soon as we took Jack to meet them, I knew we had made the right choice and Jack fitted in brilliantly. He was given plenty of walks, lots of love and attention, his medication was administered without any problem, and he ate well and thrived whilst with Phil and Eve. During our holiday, Phil sent regular updates on Jack, including photos showing Jack relaxed and happy. We couldn’t have wished for better carers.
The service from Petstay itself was very straightforward and efficient. There was also personal contact by phone with Charlotte, which was reassuring, and I was also impressed that Charlotte took every trouble to find us carers, although we booked with fairly short notice. We were lucky and got a cancellation and Charlotte informed us straightaway when it became available. The process from that point was relatively easy.
I would definitely recommend Petstay and in particular Phil and Eve, who looked after Jack as if he was their own dog.

I would just like to say how pleased I was with the service provided by Pet Stay Warwickshire.
The carer Timmy was placed with looked after him very well and it gave me great peace of mind to know that he was in a lovely home environment and not in kennels. I have never left him before as he is a rescue dog and has had a sad life. I needed to find one to one care for him which was provided by Pet Stay and would not hesitate to place Timmy with them again.

Keeping your data secure
When you give us personal information we take steps to ensure that it’s treated securely and strive to protect it on our internal systems. We ensure that:

- Security updates and patches are regularly applied to all components of the PetStay system.

We use Transport Layer Security (TLS) to encrypt and protect email traffic in line with government standards. If your email service does not support TLS, you should be aware that any emails we send or receive may not be protected in transit.
