Hello, my name is Natasha and I am the owner of the Hull & East Riding Branch of PetStay. I live in Willerby with my 2 daughters and Jax, our much-loved family dog. I have been around dogs for the majority of my life and would not be without them. I understand the effort and love owners put into the training and care of their dogs and from experience, I know that owners do not want to leave their furry family members in a kennel. I have been using PetStay myself for a number of years before taking over the PetStay Hull & East Riding Branch – to offer bespoke home boarding for family dogs.

PetStay Hull & East Riding offers a “home from home” whether you’re planning a trip for business, a weekend break or a fortnight get-away. The benefits of home boarding are being able to tailor make your dog’s “holiday” with PetStay. This means, we are able to follow the routines you already have in place at your own home, be that sleeping, feeding, exercise or companionship. Staying in a home environment means your dog will get lots of love and attention from a carer who will treat your dog as their own and that’s important, to you and to them!
My Host Families
I have handpicked my host families ensuring I only take on the very best. All carers are experienced dog owners and most importantly – love dogs! You can choose to either board your dog(s) alone or if your dog enjoys doggie company, with a carer who has a friendly dog of their own. A meeting will be set up so you and your dog(s) can meet their carer and see their holiday home beforehand. Safety is very important to us, so we never mix dogs from different families and we keep all dogs on leashes whilst walking in public places. Finally, all hosts are fully insured, regularly inspected by myself and inspected by the council to make sure they meet the stringent criteria required for the home dog boarding license.
How it Works
I take great care in getting to know you and your dog before they home board with PetStay and take full details of your dog so that I can find the perfect carer for him or her. We then would organise for you to visit the carer to make sure everyone is happy. I will guide you through the booking process and a “holiday list” will be provided of essential items that will need to be packed to make sure your dog(s) have their favourite things with them. Here are the few simple stages of booking with PetStay.
1st: Ring or email your local branch to discuss your dogs requirements and dates.
2nd: We will explain all about PetStay and what your next steps would be.
3rd: We then take all details about your dog and then match them to the most suitable carer.
4th: A meeting will be organised for you and your dog to meet the carer.
5th: If you are 100% happy with your carer you would then be ready to book with PetStay.
6th: No later than 5 days after your initial meeting, complete our on-line booking form and pay the arrangement fee.
7th: An email confirmation will be sent to you.
8th: You’re all booked in and don’t have to worry about anything.
9th: Drop your dog off at the carer’s house with food, a bed. toys and anything else you think they might need.
10th: Go away with complete peace of mind and have a wonderful holiday.
*PetStay Arrangement Fee
Our daily rate is made up of the Arrangement Fee and the Carer’s Allowance. These are 2 separate payments. The Arrangement Fee is a payment to arrange and confirm the booking of your dog’s stay, and is due for payment within 5 days of meeting your dog carer. For a repeat booking the Arrangement Fee is payable within 5 days of your requested dates being confirmed by PetStay.
The Arrangement Fee is non-refundable or non- transferable
The Arrangement Fee is for the service provided by your local PetStay branch in selecting a suitably matched dog carer for you and your dog. The Arrangement Fee also represents a proportion of all the administration and ongoing business costs, including but not limited to, Public Liability and Employer Liability insurance, licensing, recruitment of carers, advertising, 24/7 support to carers, and business documentation giving you peace of mind and your dog a quality home dog boarding experience with PetStay.
The Dog Carer’s Allowance
The Carer’s Allowance is paid direct to the dog carer when you drop your dog off.

Frequently Asked Questions about becoming a PetStay Carer
What are the requirements of becoming a carer?
You must be a genuine dog lover, have experience of looking after dogs and you need to be home during the day so you have plenty of time to give to the dogs you are caring for. You must have a secure garden and agree to abide by PetStay guidelines. You are allowed to have a dog of your own as long as your dog gets on with other dogs.
How are your carers vetted?
If you meet all the requirements listed above, we will come and visit you at your home. We will check the security of the garden, explain PetStay procedures and show you the guidelines each carer needs to follow. If you are happy with everything and we feel you would make a suitable PetStay carer, we would follow up a reference and arrange public liability insurance for you.
How many dogs can I look after?
Our service is on a one-to-one basis, so only dogs from the same household will stay with you. You are allowed to take up to three dogs from the same household, BUT you choose what you are happy with. We will ask you how many dogs you would like to look after and what sized dog/s you would be happy to care for.
Do I have to provide the food?
No, the owner will bring any food or treats for the duration of the stay. Any toys, bedding, medication and leads will also be brought.
Does the dog/s have to be vaccinated?
Yes each dog MUST have up to date vaccinations, have been wormed and treated for fleas. Proof of the vaccinations will be brought to the meeting and shown to you.
What about walking the dogs?
All dogs should be taken out each day for walks. When you have your meeting with the owners all routines, including the number and length of walks, will be discussed. The dog is only ever walked on a lead.
What if the dog becomes ill?
We/you would endeavour to contact the owner or the emergency contact. The owner or the emergency contact would be liable for any expenses incurred in taking the dog to the vet.
Will I be paid?
How am I paid: You will receive a daily allowance starting from £15.00 per

We would thoroughly recommend any beloved pet to stay with Karla and Paul. They could not have looked after our little Lyla better. From the very beginning they put our minds at ease with their kind and confident manner around Lyla. They gave us regular updates with cute photos included throughout our puppy’s stay. We can tell our puppy was happy and comfortable as she ate all her food and looked so relaxed in the photos. We would recommend to anyone and will definitely be using their services again.
My lovely dog Pebbles, stayed with Natasha for 3 days and nights, he had a wonderful stay, Natasha kindly sent regular updates, along with photos. I can not recommend PetStay highly enough, will continue using PetStay in the knowledge that my lovely Pebbles was loved and well cared for in a homely setting.
What a wonderful service. We had an emergency situation when a relative was rushed into hospital. With short notice, Tasha at PetStay was able to find us a pet sitter for his large dog AND arrange for pick up. I really don’t know what we would have done without PetStay. Even more remarkable is that I was able to arrange it all from California for a dog in Hull! There is an 8 hour time difference and a lot of trust was involved. The pet sitter sent us a wonderful photo of Rinty settled in his temporary home, which was a great relief to us all. Communication was great.
Thanks for your help with my dog Bluebell. The service has been excellent by both Natasha and Karla. Bluebell was looked after very well, I received numerous pictures of Bluebell while I was away which was amazing and so reassuring. Karla was very friendly and provided 100% peace of mind with Bluebell.

Bugsy stayed with Karla and Paul whilst we went on a short trip. They did over and above when looking after him and made it home from home for him.

Barney & Monty
We picked Barney and Monty up from Karla this afternoon, I just wanted to let you know how pleased we were that Karla looked after them so well.
She kept in touch with us throughout their stay and also contacted the emergency vet when Barney was sneezing and his nose started bleeding. The vet said this was quite common after sniffing grass, Karla also sent us lots of photos.
As this was our first time using PetStay, we were unsure how the dogs were going to be. However, we didn’t need to worry as they were both in very good, caring hands.

We have been using PetStay (Hull & East Riding) since 2013 for our babies Gizmo & Jasper. We can not fault them in any way at all. We can use them a few times per year and sometimes at quite short notice, Carole, Melanie & Tasha have always done their best to find us lovely suitable people for Gizmo & Jasper. We have never been let down or had a bad experience yet. When we have had new people we have always been reassured which puts our minds at rest. We will always use PetStay and we wish Tasha the best of luck in such a troubled time, she’s quite new to PetStay and doing a great job and then covid happens which is effecting so many businesses, We just hope she gets through this. If you are anxious about leaving your pets well PetStay is for you, I don’t even like my dogs going out I’m so anxious about them getting hurt but we always go away knowing our dogs are ok and that makes a huge difference to our holiday, we know we don’t have to worry about them. Yes they loved having him. We had plenty of contact with them over our holiday, they asked questions and showed concerns, we felt comfortable with the pet sitters and they said they would love to look after him again another time and we will certainly stick with them in the future.

Charlotte is based in a family home with 2 other dogs, who Ted and Maverick have really taken to and have enjoyed visiting. I should like to say a huge thank you to Elaine in Beverley for caring for our very spoilt pooch Scooby. He is a small staffy with a lot of energy and a great need to be close to his humans. Elaine was absolutely fantastic with him. He was treated exactly the same as he is at home and there were no issues regarding his separation anxiety. In fact he was so chilled out when I went to collect him I did think he might stay longer. I would definitely use the service again and would be thrilled for Elaine to have him back. To anyone who has had a bad experience when leaving their dog I would say this service is second to none. As previously mentioned he cannot stay in a kennel as his anxiety completely takes over and even a family member who looked after him came nowhere near Elaine’s care. Want to thank Heather (and Ian) for looking after Poppy while we were on holiday. We had the initial meeting, and then another get together just before we went away. Poppy immediately felt comfortable with Heather and Ian, and this gave us the reassurance she would be fine while we were away. Our Scoobs stayed with Karla for a week. We had been anxious about leaving him with anyone but needn’t have worried. Karla sent us pictures and kept us updated. He was very relaxed when we went to pick him up and clearly had made himself at home. Great service and very reassuring.
Just picked my baby Tommy up after his 3 week holiday with Karla. He’s a very boisterous mischievous little man who’s also very nervous with new people so I was worried about leaving him Tommy had a great time and Karla looked after him brilliantly sending lots of reassuring messages and pictures. I just want to write a quick review of our recent experience of using the service you provide.
Our two dogs, Lenny & Mabel stayed with Karla at Brough from 3rd > 12th June.
We were more than delighted with the service Karla & her family provided. Our dogs were very, very happy under her care, and it s plainly obvious they felt at home there and enjoyed their stay.
She issued photographs to us (at our request) during our holiday, to reassure us our dogs were having fun. Which really made it a lot easier for us to enjoy ourselves.
You can tell meeting Karla, she loves dogs and has a natural ability to make them feel at ease in her presence. And our two really took a shine to her.
She provides a first class service, where the dogs needs are catered to, and we would not hesitate in recommending your service or Karla to any of our friend’s.
We are very grateful, and will be using your service on an annual basis, should you have the availability to meet with our dates.

Hi would just like to say a big thank you to Karla and Paul (from Brough) Who looked after our boy Chaz, it was the first time he had been left as he is quite a nervous Whippet but they were great with him . Not having used this type of service before I was a little apprehensive but did not want to kennel our elderly labs. I need not have worried, Karla and her family are lovely and the two settled down almost immediately even on our prestay visit. In fact I barely saw Jake as he had taken himself off into the kitchen with a bone. So, when the day came drop them off my only worry was that they would behave themselves. Thankfully they did. Having only used kennels before I was expecting my ‘shadows’ post stay as they were usually really clingy for a week. Not so this time, they instantly settled back in to home routine as if we had all just come in from a walk. Many thanks to Karla and her family for looking after our furbabies, we would not hesitate to come to her again or recommend to a friend.
I used PetStay for the first time at Christmas 2017. Melanie and Austen (Hull and East Riding PetStay) were extremely helpful.
After my initial meeting with Paul, the carer, I was confident that all would be OK.
Paul sent me reassuring emails whilst I was away and Freddie, my Welsh Springer Spaniel, settled in straight away and had a great time. This is a wonderful service, which I would highly recommend.
We were really happy once again with PetStay who found us Roy and Sheila who really enjoyed looking after our German Shepard Mya. We had no problems what so ever and will use them again in the future.
I just wanted to provide some feedback. We are extremely satisfied with how Jeanette looked after Pippa and would definitely use her again.
We are delighted with how well she has treated our dog and her understanding of her individual needs as a nervous dog.
Can give PetStay a five star rating we left our dog Hetti with Lisa who made her one of the family straight away this was the first time we have left Hetti with anyone other than family and it was the best thing we could do for her. Lisa kept us updated for the 4 days that she was there and we came home to a happy dog. We will definitely use pet stay again and leave her with Lisa as she now knows her and Hetti would be happy. And we as her owners will be happy in the knowledge she is happy and loved the time she is there. I would recommend PetStay to all my dog owner friends.
Would like to say thank you for our recent stay for our dog Rodney with Pauline and Steve. They were absolutely fantastic and we can tell Rodney was very well looked after and had a great time.

I wanted to write this review to say a huge thanks you to Sara Elvi- Rawe and her family for taking such great care of our pooch Millie, Millie has complex needs and has recently been diagnosed with an illness that’s left her blind in one eye. Sara and her family didn’t hesitate about caring for Millie instead they made me feel relaxed about leaving her in their care. She thoroughly enjoyed her stay and Sara sent photos of Millie to put my mind at ease that she was well. I’d highly recommend this service it’s excellent value for money plus it’s peace of mind for any nervous pet like Millie to stay in a loving home rather than being stressed in kennels. Once again thank you and hopefully she will be allowed back.

This was the first holiday I have had in 25 years without one of my pets. I was apprehensive. Binny went to stay with Keith and Elaine. We visited the week before and were greeted with warmth and a quiet reassuring atmosphere. Keith is the most laid back person, Elaine too it is so obvious that they love their work. They were thorough in understanding Binny’s needs. Nothing seemed too much trouble. They kept in touch whilst I was away. Can’t thank them enough for making Binny part of their family.
If she could speak-she would probably say the same.

I was worried about leaving Coco, my cocker spaniel, as he is 6 and has always had family members staying with him when we went away. This time is was a family holiday so I needed an alternative. Coco stayed with Sarah Cook and her lovely family. He was happy on the first visit and was very well looked after during his 2 week stay. Meg, our black labrador has stayed with her carer Sarah and her family several times now and is so happy to go and has settled really well. It’s great for us to know that Meg is treated as part of the family and gets lots of attention and long walks in the country. Sarah keeps us updated via WhatsApp with photos and reports of Meg. Excellent! I was concerned about leaving Woody as he is a rescue dog and I didn’t want him to think he had gone back into care but leaving him with Karla was the best thing ever. He was treat like a part of the family and was so well looked after I am sure he wouldn’t have minded staying. Karla kept me informed about how he was doing with texts which really put my mind at rest, I will definitely be using them again. I cannot praise this service enough. Tilda stayed with an absolutely amazing family of carers, who were kind enough to keep me updated whilst I was away, and she was even sent home with her own holiday pictures! She was cared for exactly as she would have been at home, and we were very secure in the knowledge that she was being looked after. Trish and her family did a wonderful job, and we picked up a very happy little dog! I wouldn’t hesitate to use this service again and would recommend it to anyone. The peace of mind that you get is worth every penny.

Our two dogs have recently spent two weeks with their PetStay family whilst we went away on holiday, think they had more fun than we did! The couple who looked after them were wonderful and treat out dogs as their own.
I cannot recommend this company highly enough, we went away feeling happy and confident that our dogs would be loved and well looked after and they definitely were so much so the couple wanted to keep them longer

Pippa first stayed with PetStay in 2007 and as we had never left her we were very anxious owners. Molly & Cocoa are two Golden Retrievers who need lots of exercise and love. After visiting Lesley one of PetStay carers we had no hesitation on booking with PetStay. The garden was secure and very large. Their carer took lots of pictures of them and wrote a diary of their stay. I had been recommended PetStay by a friend at work and we wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this service to any dog owners who want a real alternative to kennels.

Just a brief note to say that our and Alfie’s first experience of PetStay has been a resounding success!We enjoyed our break after leaving him very happy with his arrival at Elaine’s. I have to say that he and his family were lovely and really welcomed us and Henry into their home. They made the meeting so friendly, Henry practically ate them all alive and they were very tolerant of him and us.I came with a typed list of information and they did not make me feel like an over anxious owner, although I know that I am.We are more than happy to leave Henry in their care and know that their whole family will love him as much as we do, particularly their son, who even took Henry out for a short walk whilst we were there! We have only left Henry in 3 places since we got him just over a year ago so for us to leave him with Keith means that we trust him and his family implicitly.Please pass this feedback onto them, I will definitely recommend your service, which I already do, but will in particular mention Keith and his family.
We have now used Petstay on a couple of occasions to organise petsitting for our little dog Louie while we were on holiday, and must say that Carole Davy was a great help in finding someone who we could trust and we would be happy for them to look after our dog. I would just like to thank PetStay and Debbie in Cleethorpes who looked after Rudi for me for two weeks when we was on holiday. It is the first time we have left Rudi(a German shepherd) with anybody but family and he was very well looked after and he could not have been looked after any better,I would not hesitate to leave him with Debbie again and I’m sure Rudi would love to stay with Debbie and her family again. Debbie kept in touch with me in Turkey by text to let me know he was ok and having fun. I would never put my dog in kennels and this is a great alternative. Although we missed Rudi we knew he was being well cared for and happy so it made our holiday a lot more enjoyable. Thanks Debbie your a star.

Cassie & Lucy had never stayed in kennels before but we had been lucky enough to have family members to look after them but when all this changed we were lost until we found PetStay. We found a home-from-home for our dogs. When we drop them off their tails are going mad as they are so happy and excited. I do think they are a little spoilt whilst they are with their carers but we wouldn’t leave them anywhere else.

Keeping your data secure
