Hello, I’m Julie and I’m delighted to be running PetStay in Suffolk ably assisted by my beautiful bouncy boxer Monty.
I’ve loved and lived with dogs since I was a toddler, and after a challenging but enjoyable career in journalism and corporate communications, I felt it was time to follow my heart and fulfil my long-held desire to do something doggy.
My dogs have been a constant joy throughout my life, even when they’ve disgraced themselves by eating my A Level revision notes, breaking wind under the table when my boyfriend’s parents came to dinner, peeing on the Christmas tree, digging up my dad’s vegetable garden and forming an amorous attachment to my godson’s favourite teddy (It’s all true!).
Like a lot of owners I’ve never been comfortable about putting my dogs in kennels but have struggled to find alternatives that I can trust completely. I know how stressful and worrying it is trying to find the right care for your dog when you’re planning a holiday or need to take a trip away for work. I’ve been that anxious owner.
What if someone could take that worry away? With PetStay I know I can be confident that my dog and yours will be treated like one of the family in a safe and secure home-from-home environment where they will be loved, cared for and, above all, happy.
All our carers are carefully selected, insured and meet our strict home dog boarding criteria. We are meticulous about matching the right carer to the right dog, and your dog will have their carer all to themselves as we don’t mix dogs from different households.
How it works
We allow our carers to look after up to three dogs from the same household. If you’re new to PetStay we’ll want to find out as much as we can about your dog – its character and personality, daily routines, eating, sleeping and exercise arrangements, likes, dislikes and any special quirks or requirements. This helps us find the perfect match from among our carers, and when we’ve done that we’ll arrange for you and your dog to meet the carer in their own home. If all goes well you’re ready to make your first booking. We’ll guide you through the booking process and provide you with a holiday list of essential items you’ll need to pack for your dog’s stay

Frequently Asked Questions about becoming a PetStay Carer
What are the requirements of becoming a carer?
You must be a genuine dog lover, have experience of looking after dogs and you need to be home during the day so you have plenty of time to give to the dogs you are caring for. You must have a secure garden and agree to abide by PetStay guidelines. You are allowed to have a dog of your own as long as your dog gets on with other dogs.
How are your carers vetted?
If you meet all the requirements listed above, we will come and visit you at your home. We will check the security of the garden, explain PetStay procedures and show you the guidelines each carer needs to follow. If you are happy with everything and we feel you would make a suitable PetStay carer, we would follow up a reference and arrange public liability insurance for you.
How many dogs can I look after?
Our service is on a one-to-one basis, so only dogs from the same household will stay with you. You are allowed to take up to three dogs from the same household, BUT you choose what you are happy with. We will ask you how many dogs you would like to look after and what sized dog/s you would be happy to care for.
Do I have to provide the food?
No, the owner will bring any food or treats for the duration of the stay. Any toys, bedding, medication and leads will also be brought.
Does the dog/s have to be vaccinated?
Yes each dog MUST have up to date vaccinations, have been wormed and treated for fleas. Proof of the vaccinations will be brought to the meeting and shown to you.
What about walking the dogs?
All dogs should be taken out each day for walks. When you have your meeting with the owners all routines, including the number and length of walks, will be discussed. The dog is only ever walked on a lead.
What if the dog becomes ill?
We/you would endeavour to contact the owner or the emergency contact. The owner or the emergency contact would be liable for any expenses incurred in taking the dog to the vet.
Will I be paid?
You will receive a daily allowance starting from £15 per day.
What happens next?
If you are interested in becoming a carer, please ring us for an informal chat and ask any questions or email us with your details and we will come back to you. You can also use the contact form on the ‘contact us’ tab. If we feel you are suitable we would then arrange to visit you at home.

Guest dogs stay in our carers’ homes as members of the family. We have carers throughout Suffolk, all of whom are very experienced dog owners. Every carer is interviewed and inspected by us, is fully insured, and receives mandatory Level 2 (VTQ) Canine First Aid training. Meet some of our carers below and read what they have to say about being part of the PetStay family.
I adore dogs. Always have, since I was a toddler, and have grown up sharing the happiness and joy dogs bring to enrich and fulfil your life. Dogs are therapy, and when I am sharing their company, I am my best self. Happy, secure, relaxed, complete and at one with the world around me.
Since I became a PetStay carer I haven’t stopped smiling and feeling good. I am having the time of my life meeting some very interesting and characterful loyal and lovable four-legged friends and their devoted owners.
I have a new lease of life and adore getting back out into the fresh air to enjoy invigorating walks in the countryside. Being a PetStay carer is such a rewarding experience, and you always feel supported, valued and respected by Julie, the owner of the PetStay Suffolk Branch. Julie has everything under control and is always available if you need her. Julie supplies you with regular reminders and updates of forthcoming visits and bookings, so you feel completely supported.

‘We became carers as we missed having dogs as part of our family, but didn’t want to go through the heartache of making that final decision when it was time. We enjoy being carers because we meet a variety of dogs, with great characters, it keeps us busy and it makes our house feel like a home again. Also, it’s lovely to meet all the owners.’
‘I have been a PetStay carer for over 5 years and really enjoy it. We had a dog previously, but we just couldn’t go through the heartache of losing another one. I look after a variety of dogs, mainly small to medium, all with different personalities. It’s so lovely when a returning dog just walks in and makes themselves at home. My husband still works, but part-time now, so we are both able to walk the dogs together on his days off.’
Shirley and Nik
My husband Nik and I had an MDH (multiple dachshund household) for over 35 years and before the last one sadly passed away at the ripe old age of 20, we took on a rescue mixed breed. Rosie was more suited to the daily walks in the rural landscape where we now live, and she is a very welcome addition to our home.
It quickly became very clear to me that one dog just wasn’t enough! A friend of mine told me that she was dog boarding at home, and I immediately saw a solution to getting my canine fix.
We have a lot to offer dogs in this environment and all of our guests seem to be very at home here. We love having them stay and our amazing Rosie enjoys sharing her space with them.
PetStay’s philosophy has given us peace of mind that there is backup (in the form of Julie) should we need it and we’re very happy to be part of the team.
Sue and Alan
We became carers for PetStay in 2014. We toyed with the idea of homing another rescue dog when our dear Sally passed away. With PetStay we have the best of both worlds. It’s lovely to have a dog/dogs in the house again. They definitely give us so much pleasure, and we have made many new friends since joining PetStay.
Each dog has its own special personality. We have lovely dogs to stay with us, and we have a lot of regulars. All our regulars know the way to the treat cupboard and love their walks on the heath. There are always lots of cuddles and games.
We have looked after Taz and Vinny in the picture since 2016. It is definitely home from home for them. As you can see from the picture, they always requisition their own chairs.
I’ve always loved dogs. I had a Westie for many years until she sadly passed away. I was so thrilled when I realised PetStay were looking for carers and jumped at the opportunity. I’ve been boarding dogs for about 5 years now, mainly just at weekends, and absolutely love looking after the different breeds with their very different personalities. I like to feel they are totally relaxed and that it’s like home from home when they come to stay.

‘We became carers because we lost our own dog. We’d always had dogs in our lives, and as carers we love that we get to experience different breeds and see their unique characters. We also get exercise and chill out time when we’re walking them. It’s an escape from our busy lives and we love it.’
Summer stroll: Karen with her dog Fred and Darla
‘I initially became a PetStay carer because my husband wouldn’t let me have more than one dog, and when I saw the advert for carers I thought this would be my way to have another dog with the added bonus of being paid. I really love dogs and very much enjoy looking after them in my home. All my guest dogs have wonderful temperaments and get on so well with my own dog Fred, who is a Cavalier King Charles spaniel. I also really enjoy taking them on walkies, which keeps me fit, and meeting up with my regular dog walking friends, who also love being introduced to all the different doggie guests.’

‘We lost our precious little dogs Josh and Jody within 6 months of each other a year before we joined PetStay. We were still very heart sore but needed dogs in our life that we could love but hand back to owners to help us over our loss. This is the main reason we joined PetStay. We went onto the internet and found the PetStay website, joined as carers and have loved every minute of caring. We have learned so much about different breeds of dog, and we love it so much we carried on as carers even after we got Honey our rescue Cavalier King Charles spaniel. Caring for dogs is our passion.’
Anne-Marie was wonderful and I would love to book with her again. She was so caring with Maggie and kept her and us entertained with her great photos and videos. Thank you for the quick and efficient service you offered. I would recommend PetStay to other dog owners who are looking for an alternative to kennels. It’s always such a worry when you leave your pets, and I had no anxieties whatsoever this time.
Anne-Marie was wonderful. We couldn’t have asked for more. I think Bonnie got a lot of attention and was very well looked after. We got regular updates which we all really enjoyed. I have already said to Anne-Marie we would love to use her again once we have some holiday plans in place. Thanks for your help. I think PetStay is a wonderful idea and a great alternative to the usual dog sitting options, especially when you have a dog that likes attention as much as Bonnie does!
Elsie had an amazing time at Brigitte’s. She even bought her a toy from her dog Bobby to come home with. Brigitte said she thought she was adorable – not an expression I often hear with regard to Elsie!! Thanks for hooking us up. We would always recommend her.
Nico pug had a lovely time and was thoroughly spoilt. I’m sure he’d love to go back when we’re next away.
We were absolutely delighted with the care Rufus received from Claire and Martin and their family. Rufus had a fantastic time and looked completely at home when we received photos. We would be more than happy for him to go back to Claire and Martin again.’
Just to express my appreciation to June and Steve for their care of Daisy. They are so kind and go well beyond to care for Daisy ….and us. From their photos I can see Daisy had a wonderful time. Many thanks.
We were really pleased with Edgar’s care when he stayed with Sue and Alan recently. They obviously looked after him extremely well, and even when we left we felt completely confident that he would be happy….as he was! I think he must have played with all the toys they had as most of them were strewn about the living room when we collected him!!!’
Would you please pass on our thanks to Cliff and Sandra for looking after Edgar so well. He was completely spoiled and although he didn’t want us to leave when we dropped him off, it’s obvious that he loves them both and feels totally at home with them. In fact, when we went to collect him he was reclining on a heap of soft blankets on the sofa!
Lola & Finley
I just wanted to say thank you for arranging our brilliant dog stay with Claire and Martin. They were absolutely amazing, and we left Lola and Finley with them feeling so reassured. It was obvious to us when we picked them up that the dogs had been very much at home with them, and we will happily choose them again in the future. Thank you for such a great service, we are so happy that we found you, and that you matched us so well.
Lilly has had another little holiday with June and Steven. She absolutely loves being with them. She goes mad in the car when we pull into their road and they are amazing with her. Julie is always so helpful and friendly when booking Lilly in with PetStay. PetStay are amazing. Can’t recommend them highly enough
Thank you for arranging Wilf’s stay. He had a wonderful time. I know he was a very excitable teenager for the first day. Karen is so caring, knowledgeable and understanding with him I couldn’t have wished for more. It really helped me having updates from Karen, so thank you. When I returned to pick him up he wasn’t even that fussed to see me – which to me is a sign he had an awesome time.
We picked Loki up yesterday and he had another wonderful stay with Brenda and Keith. I was worried as since March, Loki had only really been with us and had got a little bit of anxiety, but I didn’t need to worry. He was in brilliant, safe hands and had a wonderful stay. Loki loves his holiday parents. Thanks again for offering a brilliant service and such peace of mind.’
Roxy has just returned from her little holiday with Tracey. She has slept most of the time since being home so they must have tired her out! She has had such a lovely time and loves it there, so thank you. Roxy likes Tracey’s daughter Erin very much. It’s great we have found somewhere that loves her as much as we do. I am so glad we have found your service for her so she does not think we have abandoned her as other families have in the past, as she is a rescue.
Monty and Hugo
We were very happy! The dogs were evidently well looked after, happy and safe. June and Steven sent me some great pictures which were much appreciated and I really felt that they went the extra mile. We would be very happy to send them to June and Steven again.
Felicity and Neil
‘Just wanted to let you know that Ginnie had a fabulous week with Stacey. We had a great holiday knowing she was so well cared for.
Stacey very kindly sent us loads of updates and pictures. She’s a great asset to PetStay and we would always recommend her.’
‘Wanted to pass on my praise for Brian and Joy. Dexter just couldn’t wait to get in their door, he was so excited when we dropped him off. Picking him up today, we can tell he’s had an excellent holiday and was well looked after and loved. Please pass on our thanks to them both for once again taking excellent care of him.’
‘Just want to say Loki had a fabulous time staying with Brenda and Keith again. I’m not sure he wanted to come home with us. It’s lovely to know that Loki has his holiday parents for when we want to go away. ‘
‘An amazing match was found for my dog while we were away in Asia. Helen was absolutely brilliant. Am now about to book another pet stay. Fantastic service. You can completely relax, it is extremely well run.’
‘Brenda and Keith were amazing with Meisha. She had a lovely time with them. Such a lovely couple and family, and they really made her feel loved. Thank you again for finding Brenda and Keith. It made such a difference to our holiday knowing how happy she was.’
‘We have picked up Woody this morning and once again he has had a great time with Denise and Dave. They really look after him so well.’
‘We have picked up Woody this morning and once again he has had a great time with Denise and Dave. They really look after him so well.’
‘I just wanted to say that Lilly has had yet another lovely stay with Brenda and Keith. They are so good with her. Brenda sent lots of photos and she looked so content.
Can’t speak highly enough of your lovely carers.’
Thank you for organising Cassie’s stay. We are very pleased with the care that Cassie received from Terri and John – they are a welcoming couple and understand dogs very well. Please thank them on our behalf for all they did for our dog and for their kindness to us.’
Just want to say thank you to Brenda and Keith for looking after Loki our French bulldog puppy. We were worried about leaving him but we didn’t need to be worried as they were both so caring and loving when we dropped him off. We loved the daily updates and I think I have more photos of Loki than of my own holiday! But it was so reassuring to know he was well cared for and got lots of cuddles. Loki is a character so it was nice to know he was getting the care and attention he is used to. In future we will be booking our stays around Loki’s holiday parents. ‘
Louise and Gavin
‘Just picked up my dachshund Frank after a week’s stay with Brenda & Keith and he was such a happy little boy. I was nervous as I’d never left him with anybody other than family before and he is quite an anxious little thing but Brenda was absolutely amazing…she updated me every day with pictures and what he had been up to and I had no concerns at all. Brenda is so, so lovely, Frank loved her and he will definitely be staying again!’
‘I am so full of praise for Stacey. We have never left Buster before and I was so nervous that no one could love him, put up with his wilful and wily ways and care for him like we do. How wrong I was! Stacey had Buster wrapped around her little finger and eating out the palm of her hand. She loved him as we do and he has even been wandering the house looking for her, since being home. Her communication with us during our holiday was superb and every day we knew what they were getting up to with photos, videos and messages. It was honestly like leaving Buster with a family member! From now on, I’m booking my holidays around Stacey’s availability! Thank you for putting us in touch PetStay.’
“Jackson had the most wonderful holiday – rushing in to see Brenda and Keith without a backward glance! It is so reassuring being able to leave him with such fantastic carers! Makes our holiday all the better too! Many thanks.”
Casey, Lottie & Dollie
“We have been using PetStay Suffolk for a few years now and they are fantastic. Joy and Brian who our 3 were paired with are amazing. It really is a home from home. I only wish we had known about PetStay years ago. We go away knowing that our 3 are being loved and in the comfort of a home with company all day and not stuck in a concrete cell. Would recommend these guys 100%.”
Kelly and Keith
‘‘I would just like to let you know what a wonderful time Sasha had with Cliff and his partner. She seems to have discovered a previously unknown taste for sardines! Thank you for matching her with Cliff. It was very reassuring for us, especially me.’
‘Just wanted to say that Lilly had a lovely stay with Denise and Dave. Such lovely people. She looked really settled and content when I picked her up. Lilly’s paws had really flared up before I dropped her off. Denise was really good about cleaning them several times a day to try and help soothe them. I am sure Lilly will have a lovely time with them when she stays again with them in July.’
Lucy & Ariel
‘Brenda and Keith were brilliant and the dogs were extremely happy and settled with them. Such lovely and caring people.’
Tivetshall St Margaret
‘I would just like to say a massive thank you for setting us up with Chris and Alan. Lovely people and they looked after Tommy so well he didn’t want to come home.’
‘I just wanted to say what a wonderful job June and Steve did looking after Jenson. They took some truly lovely pictures of him, looking happy and so obviously at home with them. It was a real comfort the continuous updates we got whilst away. He is already looking forward to his Christmas break and we won’t feel so nervous leaving him for such a long time knowing he is in good hands.’
Capel St Mary
‘Our best decision ever for Oscar was to use PetStay. We picked up Oscar after an 18-day stay with Stacey. We were very concerned as last year we used kennels and Oscar came back to us a very different dog, but we should not have worried. We received daily updates and photos, he fitted in very well and was even allowed tummy rubs as Stacey said he was a teddy bear with boundaries. She was great with him. Will definitely use PetStay for all our future needs.’
Just wanted to say that Lilly had another lovely stay with June and Steven. They are absolutely lovely with her and she clearly loves being with them. June sent me lots of brilliant photos and recordings of her out on her walks. Wish I had found PetStay a long time ago.
Pol & Pippa
Our first experience using Petstay has been faultless. Ours two dogs, Pol and Pippa, have just spent a fortnight with June and Steven who have so obviously cared for them with understanding and kindness. They are devoted carers and we are immensely grateful to them. Pippa is not yet a year old and Pol is a rescue dog with a difficult history who needs no more trauma in his life. To see June’s daily photos of two relaxed dogs who seemed so much at home was very reassuring indeed. Thank you PetStay for finding Pol and Pippa two great new friends.
‘Milly was taken care of very well by Cliff and Sandra, and as an older dog is not the easiest one to care for. It was lovely to receive photographs of Milly and see that she was doing well. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone.’
For the past 20 years, my husband and I have traveled to Tobago in the West Indies where we combine work with relaxation for six weeks. Brandie, our Sprocker, has always stayed with her Mum and sister where she was bred, but it was not possible this year. We discovered ‘PetStay’ and Brandie went to stay instead with Cliff and Sandra, having had a successful trial weekend with them. We were absolutely delighted with the care, attention, and love that they bestowed on Brandie. We were sent photos and news of her every 3 days and it was wonderful to know how happy and contented she was. We would definitely use ‘PetStay’ again.
Steve & Jill
Ellie & Tess
“My 2 girls, Ellie and Tess spent a lovely 2 weeks with Brenda and Keith in Ipswich. The care they were given was exceptional. They were very happy being spoilt and loved by them. I cant speak highly enough of these 2 wonderful carers and would not hesitate to leave them there again. I can go on holiday rest assured they are in very good hands and enjoying themselves.”
‘I just wanted to say how lovely Brenda and Keith are. They have obviously doted on Lilly and she was so content with them, she didn’t want to leave without Brenda walking a little way with us, which was so sweet. Couldn’t speak highly enough of them, and can’t wait to book Lilly in with them again.’
‘Thank you for arranging for us to meet Stacey. We are delighted with the care Camas received whilst we were away for the weekend. Stacey gave us regular updates, and Camas had a great time, and was so much happier when we collected him than he was after his one stay in kennels.’
Fiona & Martin
‘Just thought I would make contact to you let you know that Woody had a fantastic time with Dave and Denise. They were superb with him and I have no worries about him going back. We can’t recommend them highly enough to other potential customers. Thanks again for a great service.’
‘I got the feeling from Bella that she would have loved to stay with Brenda and Keith on a more permanent basis. She certainly had a sulk for a few days on our return. I think she had a brilliant time and Brenda sent through great photos to keep us involved.’
Stratford St Mark
‘We’ve just collected Edgar from Cliff and Sandra. He obviously settled really well with them and had a great weekend whilst we were away. We returned to find him having a game of ball in the garden! Cliff and Sandra obviously care a huge amount about the dogs they look after. We honestly feel Edgar couldn’t have been in better hands. Thanks for your help in setting up Edgar’s stay. We wouldn’t hesitate to use Cliff and Sandra again.’
Ruth & Phil
Humphrey & Lilly
‘I would just like to say how lovely June and Steven are. June was in contact with me, sent loads of pictures and the dogs looked to have had a lovely holiday. When I picked the dogs up today they went crazy but then went back to Steven, which I thought was lovely. I cannot speak highly enough of them.’
‘Just wanted to say how happy we were with the care Brian and Joy gave to Dexter whist we were away. He looked so good when we collected him. We could tell he was well looked after – he did not want to leave and planted his feet when we were about to go. Would 100% recommend Brian and Joy to anyone that asks. Thank you for arranging.’
Ben & ali
‘Nina has stayed with three different PetStay hosts and we have been delighted with the care she has been given each time. None more so than June and Steven in Woodbridge! Knowing that she will be understood and loved makes such a difference. Thank you for providing such excellent hosts.’
Paul & Kate
‘Our lab Max went to stay with Brian and Joy for the first time a few weeks ago for 6 days. We couldn’t have picked a nicer, kinder and more experienced couple. Max has a few medical problems but this did not put them off and he had an amazing, chilled out time. It was lovely to receive photos and updates whilst we were away and see how settled he was. I couldn’t recommend Brian and Joy and PetStay enough. Thank you.’
‘Our lovely boxer dog Ed has stayed with Michael, Sally and Michaela twice. Ed took to them immediately upon our first visit. It was apparent Ed would be treated like part of their family and well cared for whilst we were away. They regularly updated us and provided photos of Ed, which was lovely for our children. When we took Ed for his second holiday he made himself at home and was very excited to see Michael, Sally and Michaela again, which made us feel at ease that Ed was content. They are a lovely family and will always be my first choice to care for Ed when we do decide to go away again. Thank you Michael, Sally and Michaela for looking after Ed and making him feel like part of your family, and allowing him to experience having a holiday too.’
‘Just wanted to say a big thank you to PetStay and the lovely Nottage family for looking after our rather large leonberger Nala for a long weekend. When she returned home she was obviously well fed, well walked and well rested, but most of all, well loved! It is definitely home from home and I’m sure Nala would be very happy to return. Thank you all.’
‘Have just collected Daisy from June and Steve. Daisy obviously had a super time! We are more than pleased with their kindness towards her and us…frequent texts and a lovely holiday photo album of Daisy. We’re absolutely thrilled! Daisy seemed so happy and has settled back at home as usual taking over everywhere! Many thanks and much appreciation.’
‘Just wanted to say how awesome we think Brenda and Keith are. As first timers we have had such a wonderful experience leaving Merlin in someone else’s hands and home. Brenda sent some wonderful photos to us which made such a difference to us being away from him. We are so very pleased we decided to book with you.’
‘Bruce had a lovely holiday with Karen and Fred and settled in well. Karen had a hard task of keeping him cool on a very hot few days! He is already booked in for our October holiday and I am very pleased I can drop him off with Karen knowing he will be well looked after and have some fun with Fred! Many thanks for your great service.’
‘What an excellent idea PetStay is. We have an Irish Terrier (with some breed typical character!) that never settles in kennels, and when we have reluctantly used them, he has come back clearly stressed and ‘out of sorts’. We were keen to try your service. The first meeting with John and Terri went well and they took time to learn about Monty’s characteristics and assess if this would suit us both. They clearly love dogs and Monty was soon settled. When it came to leaving for holiday, it was a much better break for us knowing that our dog was being well looked after and appreciated! Upon collection it was clear that there had been no real problems and indeed they have enjoyed having him and had taken him for long walks which Monty really appreciates. They are very good dog carers and very pleasant people to deal with. They said they would be happy to have him again and I expect it will not be long before we take up the option. Thank you for facilitating. A great success all round!’
‘Our Cavalier King Charles spaniel Cadence enjoyed her stay with Karen, Stephen and their dog Fred. They are a lovely couple who provide Cadence with a home from home environment, and plenty of love, care and attention. Thank you Karen and family xx.’
‘This was the first time we have used PetStay and we were initially anxious as Ben is not the easiest dog to look after. We have never dared to put him in kennels. But from the initial meeting with June and Steven we were confident he would be in experienced hands. Even so we were hugely relieved to receive the regular photos of Ben during his stay. They gave us great peace of mind and we were especially pleased to see him getting on so well with their grandchildren. This was a real bonus as he has never had much involvement with children in the past. It was often among the highlights of each day of our holiday to see what they were all getting up to.’
‘We are so pleased that Jasper’s stay with Brenda and Keith went well. They are a lovely couple and you could see that Jasper felt at home the minute he arrived at their home. We enjoyed our holiday all the more knowing Jasper was in safe and caring hands.’
Our 12 year old cocker spaniel is very used to going into kennels but days before our holiday it was clear that her health would not be good enough for us to leave her in that situation. PetStay came to the rescue on our ophthalmic vets recommendation, and we were relieved to meet Joan who was clearly able to give Molly the care and love that she deserved. Throughout our holiday Joan sent us photos and reassuring messages and this contributed to our enjoyment of our time away. On her return it is clear that Molly is well on the way to recovery. Thank you Joan.
‘We were delighted with the service provided by PetStay and by Susan and Michael in particular. From the initial meeting, they were welcoming and conscientious in finding out all about Todd and how we take care of him. Leaving our mischievous beagle with others always makes me slightly anxious, but they took care to reassure me that they would be unfazed by doggy behaviour and their love of dogs was obvious. Susan and Michael were extremely accommodating when it came to drop off and collection and it was clear when I picked Todd up that he had had a wonderful stay and been very well looked after. More than just a pet stay service, I feel like we have found friends in Susan and Michael and I would have no hesitation in using the service again. Many thanks for your part in making it all happen.’
‘Wilf wet to stay with Karen in Ashbocking. That was fantastic. He loved it and I don’t think he wanted to come home. Karen was absolutely splendid and we’re so, so happy. I can’t believe Wilf would ever want to go anywhere else. It was a match made in heaven.’
‘I just wanted to thank you for your excellent service. Susan and Michael were marvelous. They were so kind and caring giving Dinky all the love and attention he needs. He settled back home with no problems and is now looking forward to his next holiday in September with Susan and Michael.’
Maisie & Luna
‘We were very happy with the way June and Steven looked after Maisie and Luna; they sent us photos via WhatsApp each day so we could see what they were up to. When we collected Maisie and Luna they seemed really happy, and had been free to use the house as their own. June and Steven are a very friendly couple and we would not hesitate to use them again if the need arises.’
‘Archie had a wonderful time with Barbara. He has come home happy to see us but not disgruntled that we left him, which is great news for us. Archie has clearly been very well looked after and loved as he looks super smart and happy. Please pass on how pleased we are to Barbara and we will most definitely be using Barbara again if she is happy to have Archie.’
‘We picked up Elvis today from Susan and Michael and we just wanted you to know how happy we are with how everything was arranged. Elvis was looked after so well I’m surprised he came home! They are a lovely couple and Elvis was really happy and content. We really appreciated the email updates, especially as we’d never left him before. Thank you for the time and trouble taken to match him up – a huge success! We have already recommended you and the company to friends and feel certain that we will be repeating the process soon!’
Gerda & Ed
‘So pleased you recommended Janice and Will, not forgetting the lovely Jazzie! Oscar settled very well and the welcome when we collected him was “Oh it’s you!”, which told us he’d been fine. It was lovely to go away and not fret. We knew everything would be OK after the initial meeting, which meant so much, and that we could enjoy our short break. Grateful thanks to Janice and Will and of course you for the recommendation.’
Tess & Ellie
‘This being the first time I have left my dogs with anyone other than my mum I was very sceptical as to how I would find someone unknown to ourselves caring for my dogs. We were allocated Dave and Denise in Ipswich. Ellie doesn’t take to new people easily, especially men, but on arrival at Dave and Denise’s she made herself at home lying at Dave’s feet then following him into the garden. I knew then they were in safe hands. Ellie and Tess stayed with them for 16 days and were completely spoilt rotten. I was sent several messages and photos of them whilst we were away and they looked so relaxed. Whatever your dogs’ needs they will fulfil. I was over the moon with the care they received and was completely at ease whilst away knowing they were in safe hands. I would very much recommend PetStay to anyone, especially Denise and Dave. What absolute legends they are.’
‘Can’t thank Cliff and Sandra enough for the loving care shown to Brutus. This was his first visit and he settled right away. Cliff texted me regular updates whilst I was on holiday which really put my mind at rest. Brutus came back in top condition from his wonderful care and walks. Will definitely be using this service again.’
Jess & Archie
Once again, Archie had a lovely time with Hil and Jill. He thoroughly enjoys himself there and they clearly take such great care of him. I never worry now about leaving him. Stacey was great with Jess, who can be anxious when separated, as can I, but Stacey was so lovely and reassuring and she sent me some lovely photos. Stacey was very loving and caring with Jess and Jess was clearly very settled and relaxed with Stacey. We would be very happy for Jess to return there. Thank you for all your help. It is a relief to now have two such good homes for my precious ones!’
‘I would just like to say how pleased I am with the service given by PetStay and in particular the care given to our Patterdale dog Billy by June and Steven. I could see by the photographs and video clips he was very much at home with them. I would not hesitate to use PetStay and June and Steven again.’
‘Hector had a very positive stay with Sue and Alan. They clearly enjoyed having him and said they would have him back any time which must be a good sign! We felt very confident in their care of Hector. Thank you.’
Stratford St Mary
Nelson & Izzy
‘Nelson and Izzy’s stay with Stacey was very successful. I have no doubts about them settling extremely well and feeling comfortable with Stacey. Izzy has very recently become slightly incontinent but Stacey dealt with this very well and managed her inability to walk very far because of her arthritis. Stacey texted me on the day we left them reassuring me they were both OK, which was brilliant. I would recommend Stacey to anyone who loves their dogs and wants to go away and feel that they are safe and cared for. A very special lady. An excellent service. Many thanks.’
‘Nala really settles well with Cliff and his partner and we think he does a really good job with her. When we collected her she didn’t see us at first and I could see how content she was. I can honestly say that I am so happy with the service from him and PetStay that I have recommended you to quite a few other dog owners.’
‘Just wanted to say Sid have a lovely time with Brenda and Keith. They are lovely people and a credit to PetStay.’
‘Our 10-month-old retriever Lottie has had two stays with Janice and Will (Suffolk PetStay). The second time she was beside herself with excitement when we dropped her off, which says it all! She came back very tired and relaxed, and obviously enjoyed the company of their dog. It was great to be able to go away knowing that our dog was being looked after in such a caring home environment and we will definitely be booking with Janice and Will again. The whole process of booking with PetStay was very professional and efficient.’
Our little rescue dog Alice that we have only owned a short while has just had her first visit to Hil and Jill’s PetStay in Suffolk. We were a little apprehensive as this was the first time we have left her but we had no need to worry. Alice seemed to settle in very quickly as Hil, Jill and family seemed to make her feel very welcome and relaxed. It was lovely to receive a short video of her playing in the snow and clearly having fun. She seemed very happy and relaxed when I went to collect her and didn’t seem in any hurry to be getting home! I would highly recommend the PetStay service and Hil and Jill as carers and just hope they are available when I next need them!
Being a big dog (retriever) and used to the country Graham and Jackie suited him a treat. He looked content when we picked him up and had obviously been spoilt, although I am happy to say he was pleased to see us. He’s definitely coming to stay again. I was more than pleased.
This service was recommended to us by a neighbour. We were very impressed by the website so took the plunge. It turned out that the people who looked after Sasha via PetStay were neighbours which was so convenient. They were lovely and it was obvious they were animal lovers from the start. It was home away from home for our beloved dog. We have made another 3 bookings with PetStay and will continue to use them in the future. We are thrilled with the professionalism of the organisation and the calibre of carers they chose to look after Sasha. We can go away without worrying about her now.
‘This was the first time we had used PetStay. After previously meeting Brenda and Keith with our dog Simba we were confident that his stay was going to be fine and we need not worry. He settled in really well and seemed very content. Brenda sent through some photos of him while we were away and it was reassuring keeping in touch. He really enjoyed his break and we enjoyed ours in the knowledge that Simba was being looked after in a home-from-home setting so well – thank you!’
Claire & Ben
I wanted to let you know (in case you didn’t already!) what fantastic carers you have in Denise and Dave. Yesterday we collected Brodie from her most recent stay with them, and it is obvious that she is so well cared for by them and all their family. I know from previous visits that they go well above what would be expected when caring for our dog. Brodie was so excited to see them both on arrival, and when we collected her, it was obvious that she’s settled, relaxed and completely at home in their home -what more could we ask for!
Bury St Edmunds
Bobby & Hamish
I collected Bobby and Hamish this afternoon after their first PetStay holiday with Brenda. They have had a lovely time and been thoroughly spoilt! It was the first time Bobby had been left anywhere and the whole process was so easy and Brenda was very welcoming and made them feel right at home. They are looking forward to another holiday later this year, thank you!
‘This is the 2nd time we have used PetStay and once again everything was perfect from beginning to end. We like the professional approach of Julie who runs PetStay in our area and the booking process is very easy. We lost our original dog to old age so this booking was for our new English Setter, and he was booked in with our original sitters at our request as we know them and knew Dragisa our new Setter would be well looked after. He was really well cared for whilst we were away. We had picture messages and updated texts to let us know he was fine, which was very reassuring. On returning our carers joked that we couldn’t have him back as they had really taken to him and he was “the ideal dog to care for”. I can highly recommend PetStay. They find the right carer to suit your dog’s needs and we are looking to use them again this year knowing we can really enjoy our holiday because our dog is in safe hands.’
Graham & Jan
Bonnie & Meg
‘Just got in from collecting Bonnie and Meg from Brenda. Must just say how sweet and lovely Brenda and Keith were – the perfect foster parents for our girls. Brenda kept us up to date with pictures and messages about the dogs throughout our holiday. So nice to receive them. Would definitely recommend and have my dogs stay with Brenda and Keith again.’
‘We used PetStay Suffolk for the first time in December 2017; I truly cannot recommend them enough. The initial consultation with Julie from PetStay Suffolk was very thorough. She took so much time to find out all about Monty and then matched us with Helen and Gary who were amazing! My husband and I were away for two and a half weeks so it was hard leaving Monty, but Helen and Gary were so reassuring and kept us up to date the whole time we were away with pictures and messages. Monty came home a relaxed, content and evidently well loved dog. We will definitely use PetStay and specifically Helen and Gary again.’
Lottie & Casey
Our 2 dogs loved staying with Joy and Brian. They sent us photos updates while we were away which gave us peace of mind. They tried to mirror their daily routine as close as possible. This is a brilliant service and we have booked them in again!
Keith & Kelly
The whole service was excellent. Ruby was very well looked after. The whole process from meeting Karen for the first time and sorting out via the paper work via Julie, was efficient and straightforward and professional. I felt reassured that Ruby would be in safe hands.
‘Des was nice and relaxed when we arrived to pick him up – he even went back to bed while we were chatting to Brenda! We are so pleased Brenda and Keith were happy with how the weekend went and we would be very happy for Des to stay with them again.’
Jex & Blaze
‘Jex and Blaze had a great time, and Cliff was just so wonderful with them. We love PetStay and would never use a different pet accommodating service, and definitely never a kennel. The carers love and spoil our dogs so much and our dogs love going to “doggie hotel”! Thank you Petstay!’
‘Oh what a pleasure Denise and Dave were. Sox settled in with them straight away. Denise was kind enough to send a couple of photos of Sox while I was away. She looked so healthy and happy when we collected her, I really cannot thank them enough. Thank you for all your help. It is much appreciated.’
‘Thanks so much to Julie for introducing us to Stacey and arranging Tigger’s 3-day stay. At only 6 months, Tigger is still a puppy and Stacey gave him all the care and attention he needs. He enjoyed his stay very much.’
Angel & Bella
‘We were very pleased that Angel and Bella’s stay with Sue and Alan went well, and they said they enjoyed having them. Sue and Alan are such nice people and really seemed to have bonded with Angel and Bella. We are more than happy to leave our girls with them again while we are away. Thanks so much.’
‘Harry went to stay with Diane in Suffolk for 10 days whilst we were on holiday. Harry is a nervous dog and initially was unsure about going for walks, but Diane handled this brilliantly and he soon settled down and was very happy there. Her large garden was ideal for Harry who loves playing outside with his toys, and the rural location was perfect for quiet walks once he was used to the area. Diane sent us regular emails giving updates on how he was, and pictures too showing how relaxed he was on the sofa! This meant we could enjoy our holiday without worrying about him, and would not hesitate in using Diane again for future holidays.’
‘Excellent service, will be booking again shortly. My dog seemed to have a lovely time which meant I could relax and enjoy my two week holiday. He was cared for in a home from home environment which is great.’
‘Just to say a big thank you to PetStay (and especially to Claire and Martin and boys) for a very successful first stay for Ella. You chose the family very well for us and we are grateful for your care and knowledge in this. We were delighted and are so pleased to find a service we can rely on and trust. We will be back to you soon to request another stay. Claire and Martin have kindly said they would welcome Ella back and enjoyed having her. Thank you very much.’
‘Just wanted to thank you for putting us in touch with Hil and Jill. Scout got on really well with them, and they with him. They have said they would have him to stay again – a good sign I think. We’ll be in touch in good time when we next decide on break.’
‘Just to let you know that Skye had a wonderful stay with Graham and Jackie. She was thoroughly spoilt and came home with more toys than she went with and had loads of treats! Skye settled back home without any problems which has not been the case when she has previously been into kennels, so we have nothing but praise for PetStay and the ethos of looking after our pet as you would your own. It certainly gives us peace of mind to know that Skye is being so well looked after and should there be any problems, not that there ever have been, they are going to be dealt with effectively. We will definitely be using PetStay again and would love her to return to Jackie and Graham.
‘We have used PetStay Suffolk for nearly four years now and have been so pleased with the service we have received for our Golden Retriever, Harry. He has been loved and spoilt – just the right amount – and at times reluctant to return home! He has always been returned to us happy, well groomed, and well. His most recent stay with PetStay was no exception and he made new friends, both human and canine. I can’t recommend PetStay highly enough. It is a wonderful and more personal alternative to kennels.
‘I just wanted to let you know how happy we were with Ginnie’s stay with Stacey … What a lovely lady she is, and a real credit to PetStay.’
‘I think Lorna and Brian had their hands full with Trigger. He got them up at 4.30am every morning for a wee – this is a dog that goes 18hrs and refuses to go out at home! He also developed an attention seeking limp, and demanded food after I had dropped him off AFTER breakfast!! It was great to have peace of mind whilst I was away. Trig cannot cope in kennels – he has been rehomed several times. I have recommended PetStay to a friend.’
Bella had a lovely stay with Denise and Dave while we spent a fortnight in Scotland. Unlike previous kennel stays, Bella returned home as if we’d never been away and obviously enjoyed her two week holiday with different carers who took her on a variety of walks and became used to her odd but dear ways, whilst welcoming her into their own home. Thank you
‘Julie at Petstay Suffolk was extremely helpful and found Stacey at short notice. She loves big dogs and arranged to meet me immediately. I was put at ease by her straight away and my 7-month-old Labradoodle Korben relaxed with her very quickly. He had a lovely stay with her and I would not hesitate to leave Korben with her again.’
‘Just wanted to let you know how well Brodie was cared for with Denise and Dave. They looked after her wonderfully and she was obviously very happy and relaxed when we collected her.’
Karen, Bury St Edmunds
‘Had amazing service, everyone was so friendly. My dog stayed with a lovely couple and was very well looked after whilst we were away. Will definitely be using them again.’
‘This was the first time we used PetStay. The organiser managed to match our dog, an 8-year-old Collie Floss, with a couple only 10 miles away. It was an excellent match; they had previously owned a Collie so they knew what to expect. On our return, Floss was in good condition and I am sure she is looking forward to her next break! Price was about right having compared alternative options in Suffolk.’
‘I just wanted to thank Sue and Graham for giving Hudson another lovely holiday. As ever I was anxious about leaving him but after only being in their home for 5 minutes he had sat himself down on Sue’s lap and gave me a look which definitely said “well you can go now”! This left me feeling relaxed and able to enjoy my holiday. On my return he still choose to sit with Sue and was more than happy to give me the silent treatment! So a huge thank you to Sue and Graham for making Hudson so welcome and happy in their home.’
‘Robbie had a fantastic time with Cliff, who said that he had enjoyed having him. I would definitely use PetStay again and would be happy to have him stay with Cliff.’
Chris, Bury St Edmunds
‘Brenda and Keith were excellent carers who were obviously loving and sensitive to Angus’s needs. He loved staying with them and I know he was utterly spoilt and had a great holiday. We were away for 10 days and they kept in touch with us every day and provided photos and short messages that were comforting to read and see. We would definitely recommend PetStay and will try and use Brenda and Keith again.’
‘A huge thank you to Denise and Dave for looking after Amber for us and welcoming our mad dog into their home. Amber made herself at home straight away and their calm easy going nature gave us confidence leaving her in safe hands. When we collected her we could tell how well she had been looked after. We would have no hesitation in using PetStay again and want to thank you for matching Amber to Denise and Dave.’
Martin and Kerry, Claydon
‘We were absolutely delighted with both Graham and Jackie and how they opened up their home to Zaki so he could feel relaxed and loved. He could not have received better care from an auntie and uncle. Graham was aware of Zaki’s needs with his auto immune condition and genuinely appeared to love having him around. Zak loved their garden…especially the resident frog …and both Graham and Jackie accepted the massive amount of Zaki equipment we dumped in their house! I actually did get the feeling that they wanted Zak to stay a bit longer!!! Thank you so much for finding them for us Julie….we are booked in with them in October and hope that Zaki can stay with them on many occasions in the future.’
Pauline, Kirby Cane
‘Molly had a lovely time with Helen, Gary and family – so much so we have booked her to stay again later in the year. That says it all!’
‘We are extremely happy with the care our Goldendoodle, Gypsy, received from Hil and Jill whist we had a week away! Gypsy has A LOT of energy but Hil and Jill were not fazed and were more than happy to spend time exercising and playing with her! Thank you PetStay for pairing us up so well. We will definitely be booking with PetStay again!’
‘Just wanted to say how immensely grateful we are again to PetStay for finding Jackson another dedicated caring couple in Brenda and Keith. They really looked after Jackson so well, that I am not sure how keen he was to come home!! (He is now spoilt for choice having had a lovely time with Denise and Dave as well!)’
Fiona, East Bergholt
‘Just wanted to thank you very much for looking after Maddie and say what a great time she had with Hil, Jill and Tracey. Both said they really enjoyed having her and that she settled in well. Many thanks for taking her over to Tracey. I do hope I can use your great service in the future.’
‘We were very pleased. Macey was very well looked after by Denise and Dave – so much so she did not want to come back home with us. But we were glad because it must have meant she was very happy with her stay.’
This was the first time we have used PetStay, it was lovely to go away on holiday and not worry about Millie, our 5yr old golden Labrador, she treated her holiday home like her own home, lots of walks and playing her favourite game of ball, won’t hesitate to use this service again, never need to use kennels again, thank you to our lovely family for taking such good care of Millie.
‘Jasper had a wonderful time at Brenda and Keith’s. He was looked after so well. I received photos of Jasper while away, which was so nice to see. I will definitely use PetStay again and highly recommend. Jasper will be wanting us to go away so he can go to Brenda’s again!’
‘I just wanted to let you know that Archie had a lovely holiday with Hil and Jill. They were great and Archie loved his time with them. Archie is a rescue dog and gets stressed easily but Archie took to them both straightaway and was clearly very happy with them. They really understood Archie and his needs and we would be very happy for Archie to holiday again with them in the future!’
Caroline and Mike, Ipswich
‘This was Bertie’s first stay with a dog sitter, and we were absolutely delighted with the care and attention he received. Julie at PetStay Suffolk arranged for him to stay with Barbara, who made Bertie feel very welcome and at home, so much so he is going to stay with her again in August.’
‘We were extremely stressed about leaving our dog Oscar with someone other than close friends who have known him for a long while but, having heard of PetStay and then being paired up with Brenda and Keith, we couldn’t have been happier. Oscar went blind with SARDS last year. Although he has adapted really well he still needs to be reassured that you are there and obviously steps and stairs etc are difficult. We found with Brenda and Keith the perfect couple to look after him. They cared for him so well, and sent us lovely photos to let us know how he was getting on. We would not hesitate to go back to PetStay, especially Brenda and Keith.’
Heather & Tony, Ipswich
‘Just wanted to pass on our thanks to you and to Cliff for looking after Pippa this weekend. Cliff was lovely and so sweet with her; we were able to leave her feeling happy and confident she would be well looked after. Thank you again for organising it for us at short notice. We really appreciated it and will recommend you to anyone without hesitation.’
Murphy & Poppy
‘Murphy and Poppy really enjoyed their stay with Cliff and Sandra. I received regular updates and pictures with how they were getting on and we were both very surprised at how relaxed they were when we collected them. They have really enjoyed their time there! Will be using PetStay from now on over boarding kennels.’
Lewis, Bury St Edmunds
‘Thank you for the excellent service with PetStay. Florence our 18-month-old Border Terrier had a wonderful weekend with her carers. We met up with Karen and her husband before her stay in their home and Florence loved them. When my husband dropped her off for her long weekend stay she didn’t even look back. We went away on our break and felt completely confident that Florence was being well looked after and loved. Florence loves people and she follows us around all day. She is very sociable and would not be well suited to kennels. I would recommend PetStay as a much kinder alternative to anyone.’
‘Bailey did have a lovely time. He certainly returned home calm and relaxed. I have no doubt he enjoyed Fred’s company and was well looked after by Karen and her husband. Thanks again to you and Karen for helping us out at such short notice.’
‘We’ve used PetStay one time so far and it was a great experience. Professional company, good communication, easy set up, quality service. We are very pleased and will be using them in the future.’
Kari and Tyler, Bury St Edmunds
Stan & Alfie
‘This is the second time that I have used PetStay and yet again I was able to travel fully confident in the knowledge that my precious dogs were being loved and cared for in an environment that was second only to home. The carers were wonderfully kind people, with a good understanding of dogs, providing regular updates, feedback and photographs throughout my trip. I will only now ever use PetStay for the care of my dogs.’
Tanya, Saffron Walden
‘I was so happy with Brenda and Keith. I did wonder if Fred would actually want to come home after his stay with them. He was loved, well walked, happy, healthy and full of beans. I could not ask for anything more for my peace of mind; he is staying again in June. Happy days.’
Felix & Oscar
‘Matching our dogs and us to Dee and Dave was really good. We like Dee and Dave and feel really comfortable about leaving our boys with them.
Both have bonded with Dave and Dee well and it really was home from home for the boys, exactly what we were looking for. We will be booking again, without hesitation.’
Ruby & Saffie
‘Hi Julie, just wanted to give you feedback on Ruby & Saffie’s stay with Nita & Ivan. What a lovely couple! We were so happy with the love and care they gave our dogs while we were away. Nita & Ivan loved having them and Ruby & Saffie would have quite easily stayed!! I wouldn’t hesitate to leave them in their care again. Excellent rating from us.’
‘Max our Irish setter is in his twilight years and since moving from Essex to Suffolk our original dogsitter was no longer an option. From the moment we rang and spoke to Julie we knew Max would be in great hands whilst we took a trip abroad. She recommended a lovely couple who we met to make sure both parties were happy. Rest assured Julie picked a great match as Max was spoilt rotten with his babysitters. Would not hesitate in recommending PetStay – totally reliable and professional. It was a great comfort knowing Max was in a loving caring home. He is now booked in with his sitters for another 2 trips we have planned. Great communication, good value and a pleasure to deal with.’
Graham & Jan, Lowestoft
‘Lacey seemed really happy when we collected her from Hil and Jill. This was her first stay away from home. Nice to get the text from them on her first night, letting us know all was good. My daughter got worried she would not want to come home! Thanks.’
Tracy, Bury St Edmunds
‘We would like to thank Chris and Alan for looking after Lacey so well and making her so at home. Lacey is very sensitive, and also has to have a special diet, and they catered for her every need. Throughout her stay we were sent texts and pictures, it was so reassuring to know Lacey was happy and well. When we collected her she sat on Chris’s lap when it was time to say goodbye! We have already arranged for Lacey to stay with them again. Many thanks to Chris and Alan and PetStay.’
Jude & Kelly,Lowestoft
Archie & Teddy
‘Our two cocker spaniels seemed to have had a great time with Lyn and Keith. Lyn was very patient with all our worries and concerns and Archie and Teddy clearly bonded with her. They have come back relaxed and well. Lyn and Keith are very experienced dog owners and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.’
Karen & Jim, Sapiston
‘Nita and Ivan give the impression that they can cope with any eventuality that might arise whilst your dog is with them. This gave us peace of mind as we left Rowley and on collection after our holiday, they’d obviously looked after Rowley well. We could see he was totally at ease with them, looked happy, well fed and his long coat had been groomed. On top of this, Nita and Ivan are a lovely couple who treated any misdemeanours from Rowley with patience and humour. We have no hesitation in asking for them to care for Rowley again during future holidays.’
George & Darcy
‘Our dogs had the best stay with Brian and Joy! I can’t thank them enough for the love and attention they gave them. We were able to go away and not worry.
As soon as we had our first meeting with Brian and Joy we knew then that our dogs (1 of which can stress a lot) would be fine. We were away for nearly 3 weeks and didn’t have to worry. Our carers gave so much love and attention to George and Darcy, and sent pictures and updates – which was a massive reassurance. We had no concerns at all. I can’t thank them enough and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.’
Sirdar & Gordon
‘A huge thank you to Diane for having two dogs at such late notice. They came back looking fantastic and it took all the worry out of going away, knowing that they were being beautifully looked after. It was brilliant to discover PetStay and I really appreciate all your help. I’ll be back in touch next time we go away.’
‘I would just like to say a big thank you to Sue and Alan for looking after Freddie. He had a wonderful time and a big thank you for finding them for us.
I know Freddie will be very happy to have a return visit.’
‘Monica and Jack are a very calm and caring couple who, with the help of their grandchildren, looked after Daisy very well. They sent me regular updates and photos, which were much appreciated, and made me feel a great deal better about leaving her. No-one likes to leave their dog with ‘strangers’ but I would have no qualms about leaving her with Monica and Jack again.’
At last we have found a service in which we can be confident that our adorable and sensitive little Cocker Spaniel, Molly, will be well cared for. Thank you, PetStay, we can go away and relax, which we have not been able to do until now.
Andrew, East Bergholt
We have spent months looking for a suitable place to keep our boy happy, safe and sound when we are away on holiday. He used to go back to his breeder but circumstances have changed there which forced us to look at alternative accommodation. We visited numerous kennels and didn’t find one which was anywhere near satisfactory. Then I found Petstay…and after talking to Julie we met Chris and Alan who were absolutely delightful and obviously loved dogs. Zaki had his first stay with them a few days ago and we were so pleased with the care and attention he got. We had numerous texts and photos from them which reassured us that everything was fine. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were happy to have Zak in their home. We have now booked 3 more stays.
When we decided to go away in February/March of 2017 we were then faced with a problem. Our Doberman, Lexie, a very sweet, gentle but lively ‘pup’ of just under 2 years seemed to use time in kennels to get so worked up that over New Year she had to be shut in her sleeping quarters for long periods merely to quieten her down.
What to do?
Saw advert for PetStay and decided to investigate.
We were put in touch with a couple in Thetford, about 45 minutes away.
Went to see them, with Lexie, and found they were a delightful couple who seemed unfazed by Lexie. Dates were suitable so we all agreed to the arrangement.
Whilst away Lorna emailed or texted several times to let us know how Lexie was doing.
When we returned to pick her up she seemed very happy (and still very lively) and Lorna and Brian seemed happy with her.
My only reservation is that their garden was perhaps a bit small for a dog of Lexie’s temperament.
Our 13 year old Labrador Bonnie was so happy to stay with her lovely carer Diane. Petstay are a very professional and friendly company and I would recommend them to anyone.
Exceptional service from the Suffolk Petstay, very professional, friendly and organised. Molly the Springer was very happy with the people she stayed with and so were we.
‘We were very happy leaving Gilson with PetStay Suffolk carers after meeting them. He seemed very chilled after his stay, rather than the nervous wreck he was when he stayed in kennels previously. We will definitely use PetStay and these carers again.’
David Ames, Thurston, Bury St Edmunds
‘Our elderly spaniel had a lovely stay with Denise in Ipswich. He was extremely well looked after and obviously had really enjoyed himself. I would highly recommend PetStay and particularly Denise. We will definitely use PetStay again.’
PetStay is an absolute godsend! I really thought that we were never going to be able to go on holiday again but with the help of Julie, the Suffolk coordinator, we found delightful carers in Denise and Dave who looked after Jackson, our neurotic Bernese Mountain dog as if he was at home! The dogs are matched very carefully with suitable, available carers. The attention to detail is second to none, and all the form filling, licences and PetStay checks provide peace of mind that this is an organisation that does things properly. I cannot recommend them highly enough. When the well-being of one’s dog is at stake, nothing is too much trouble with PetStay and we were able to go away knowing Jackson was in very safe hands!
Fiona, East Bergholt, Suffolk
‘We were really pleased with PetStay. It was so nice for Pepper to stay with people in their own home, as she is a very affectionate girl who had a hard start in life – we did not want her to feel abandoned in a shelter again. We really appreciated that Pepper’s routine was maintained, including her being allowed to sleep in Brian and Joy’s bed! I could see from the photos and reports that Pepper was having a lovely time, and Joy kept me informed with emails and photos. I was told that Pepper wasn’t left alone once, and had lots of walks and cuddles. They even coped with Pepper coming into season. We are very grateful to Brian and Joy for their excellent care of Pepper, which meant we did not worry about her when we were away. We would definitely recommend PetStay Suffolk to other people. It is very efficiently run and provides individualised care for each dog.’
Jane, Kessingland, Suffolk
“We couldn’t complain at anything PetStay Suffolk assisted us with in providing a suitable household for our beloved Standard Poodle. The couple who cared for our dog while we were away abroad visiting relatives, were past dog owners themselves, which meant we were very satisfied that he would be well cared for.
PetStay Suffolk helped in finding a couple who lived locally which meant this was easy in dropping off our dog, and picking him up on our return from our trip away. The couple themselves (Mary and Bernard) were very caring, kind and friendly and throughout our time away, they emailed photos of our dog while with them, which alleviated any worry we may have had for his welfare while we were away. We are confident we would use this service again.”

Couldn’t recommend the service enough for a dog owner who doesn’t want to use kennels. I was very, very happy with the service and felt Molly was in safe hands and that she was very well cared for. I felt totally confident with Dee (Denise) my carer, from my initial meeting with her. I knew Molly was in good hands and had no concerns throughout her 6 day stay. Dee kept in touch with me and gave me a full update on how Molly had been when I collected her. Dee is a lovely lady and Molly seemed at home and relaxed when I picked her up. Wish I had known of this service years ago ! Will definitely use again, and will request Dee when I do!
‘I definitely recommend PetStay! After years of companies refusing to sit my dog because he’s a staffie I’ve finally found somewhere that really loves and cares for him as much as we do. Sue and Graham are absolutely lovely genuine people and it’s the first time I’ve ever left my dog where he didn’t worry about us leaving him. He adored them and was so well looked after. Will definitely use again!’
‘From the minute I met Denise I knew she would look after Dizzy like her own. Dizzy is an ‘escape artist’ and I was very nervous about letting just anyone look after her, but Denise and her husband put my mind at rest. She seemed to love her time with Denise and I was sent photos of her while we were away. She loved her walks and cuddles in the evening and was even allowed to sit on the sofa and be thoroughly spoilt. A real home from home for our very precious member of the family. Thank you to Julie at PetStay and Denise for looking after her so well. I would highly recommend anyone who loves their dog to use them and I would definitely use PetStay again.’
I have just returned from a week away where I was able to relax knowing Alfie was safe and being well cared for. He is a very nervous dog, but was instantly comfortable in the home of his carers, and they made us feel very welcome. The text messages of reassurance were a nice touch and helped me to know he was fine and that all was well. I would use PetStay again without hestitation.
Just thought I’d let you know how pleased we are with Chris and Alan Jones. As you know, Poppy was a bit special with her needs, but I’ve never had a dog stand and watch me leave without trying to come with me. I was so amazed that she seemed to realise that she’d be fine and would be collected some time.
She also does her circular wags with them meaning that she really is happy.
I was a little worried she would want to stay there, but fortunately she seemed keen to come with us.
Thanks again Karen, for putting us in touch with them and for allowing us a peaceful holiday without worrying about the pooch!
We picked Jasper up from Debbie’s this morning and we were relieved to see that despite having a wonderful week that he was still happy to come home! We have been blown away with the love and care that Debbie and her entire family have provided for Jasper and we’re incredibly grateful for the match you made for us, so right for jasper (and I suspect any dog lucky enough to have time at Debbie’s) and right on our own doorstep too!! Thank you once again for everything you have done, we have been telling anyone that will listen that they should use pet stay if they want to know their dog will be cared for and loved whilst they’re away. Kennels just don’t come anywhere close to the service that we and Jasper have had this last week!!

Well what can I say apart from having 2 very happy Border Terriers. They both were very relaxed with Sue and Graham and certainly seemed to enjoy their stay. I would certainly have no reservation about them staying again. I was worried about leaving them as they’d never been left before, unless with family. I really didn’t need to, they were so well looked after.
Sue and Graham seemed to enjoy them too. They had taken a lot of pics, quite a few with the dogs hogging their bed, what luxury!!

Hi Karen just wanted to say what lovely people Geoff & Linda are & I was more than happy with Ruby’s stay there. She loved every minute of it & sulked all the way home!!! Thanks again & I will definitely contact you next time we go away as I know Ruby loved staying with Geoff, Linda & their family.
Sue with Ruby the Boxer, March 2015
Just picked up rubes and just wanted to say how fantastic sue and Alan are… I’ve never seen Ruby so happy and content whilst we’ve been away I can’t thank you and them enough… will definitely be in touch whenever we go away next weekends/holidays as she really enjoyed it xxx
Ruby the Labrador
Our dog Oscar had a wonderful weekend staying with his host family for the late May Bank holiday whilst we got married. After two unsuccessful kennel trips it’s very refreshing to find a place he is not only happy to stay but a place that was happy to have in! We are so pleased, thank you very much!
I thought the meeting with Hil and Jill went extremely well and I have booked Henry in with them for the 5 days, week beginning 5th May – 9th May, 2014. I feel totally confident in their abilities to look after Henry, I just hope Henry behaves himself! Henry was interested in the chickens but Hil was not phased about it and said they would improve the enclosure and pop the chickens away whilst Henry was in the garden.
I would just like to say how professional you have dealt with me and I am totally impressed with your service. As an experienced carer working with vulnerable people in their own homes (live-in, long/short visits etc) I have witnessed both good and poor staff working in the home environment and I am thrilled to have found your company. We did have a very poor experience with a dog walking service whilst we were away for a few days (eldest son was at home) not turning up at the allotted time in the afternoon claiming there had been an emergency and my dogs were not walked until about 8pm or 9pm and short of the hour that was paid for also! Obviously, dogs cannot relay the poor care they receive from their “carers” so it can be a worrying time for an owner to entrust someone else to look after their dogs. As I said before I feel very confident with the service you are providing and if you wish me to write a review I would be more than willing to do so.
I am writing to say a big Thank You for finding Sue & Graham for us to look after Hudson. Hudson had a super holiday and was thoroughly spoilt (just like he is at home). He wasn’t very keen to come home which proves he must have had a lovely time.
Sue & Graham are a lovely couple and I felt completely confident in their ability to look after Hudson. Once again, thank you to yourself for the great service, and a big thanks to Sue & Graham for taking such good care of Hudson.
Regards, Jayne Baker
Just to let you know that we picked up Grady today from Hil and Gill today and were so thrilled that all went well. They are such lovely people who obviously took great care of Grady and gave him lots of TLC. He came home very relaxed just like he always is, which is a sure sign he had a good time. We will definitely be contacting you again in the not too distant future to see if they can have him again. Thanks so much Karen.
Regards, Kate & Chris Burgess
