Franchise Opportunity
Hello, my name is Claire, welcome to PetStay Suffolk. I live just outside Ipswich with my husband and our two children. I have had dogs my whole life and love the joy they bring. After we lost our beloved Bernese Mountain dog named Otto, we decided to have a break from owning a dog, I then took a break from my career to look after our children full time & found I really missed the company & exercise a dog brings to the house so became a carer for PetStay Suffolk. I have been a carer for over 7 years. When the opportunity to own PetStay Suffolk came up, I just knew it was the right move for me as I have so enjoyed being part of the brilliant PetStay family & owning the Suffolk franchise was the natural step.

With PetStay, you can enjoy your time away knowing your furry friend is safe, happy, and being cared for like family.
All our carers love dogs and are experienced dog owners who provide the best care for your pet while you’re away. Each carer is personally interviewed by PetStay to ensure they offer a safe, loving, and comfortable home environment for your dog. We are fully licensed, and our carers are covered by our public liability insurance for your peace of mind.
Some of our carers may have a dog of their own. If your pooch is happy to stay with another friendly dog, we’ll arrange a meet-up so they can get acquainted and see if they’re a good match.
1. Get in Touch – Call or email your local PetStay branch to discuss your dog’s needs and your preferred dates.
2. Learn About PetStay – We’ll explain how PetStay works and guide you through the next steps.
3. Matching Your Dog – We’ll take all the details about your dog and match them with the most suitable carer available.
4. Meet the Carer – We’ll arrange a meeting for you and your dog to meet the carer and ensure a good fit.

7. Confirmation – You’ll receive an email confirming your booking details.
8. Stress-Free Booking – You’re all set! No worries, just anticipation for your time away.
9. Drop-Off Time – On your dog’s drop-off day, bring their food, bed, toys, and any other essentials to their carer’s home. At this point, you’ll pay the carer’s allowance directly to the carer.
10. Enjoy Your Holiday – Head off on your trip with complete peace of mind knowing your dog is in great hands.

Our daily rate is made up of two separate payments: the Arrangement Fee and the Carer’s Allowance. Together, these payments cover the full cost of your dog’s stay, ensuring they receive loving care in a safe and happy home.
Prices listed are per day (or part thereof), except for Bank Holidays, when the Carer’s Allowance is doubled — because we believe our wonderful carers deserve extra for their dedication during these special times!
The Arrangement Fee secures your dog’s booking and is due within five days of meeting your chosen carer. For repeat bookings, this fee must be paid within five days of your requested dates being confirmed by PetStay.
This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, as it covers the service provided by your local PetStay branch in carefully matching your dog with a suitable carer. It also contributes to essential operational costs, including:
The Carer’s Allowance is a separate payment, made directly to your chosen carer when you drop your dog off for their holiday. On Bank Holidays, this allowance is doubled, reflecting the extra commitment and care our carers provide during these times.
Together, the Arrangement Fee and the Carer’s Allowance make up the full daily rate for your dog’s stay.

You must be a genuine dog lover, have experience of looking after dogs and you need to be home during the day so you have plenty of time to give to the dogs you are caring for. You must have a secure garden and agree to abide by PetStay guidelines. You are allowed to have a dog of your own as long as your dog gets on with other dogs.
If you meet all the requirements listed above, we will come and visit you at your home. We will check the security of the garden, explain PetStay procedures and show you the guidelines each carer needs to follow. If you are happy with everything and we feel you would make a suitable PetStay carer, we would follow up a reference and arrange public liability insurance for you.
Our service is on a one-to-one basis, so only dogs from the same household will stay with you. You are allowed to take up to three dogs from the same household, BUT you choose what you are happy with. We will ask you how many dogs you would like to look after and what sized dog/s you would be happy to care for.
No, the owner will bring any food or treats for the duration of the stay. Any toys, bedding, medication and leads will also be brought.
Yes each dog MUST have up to date vaccinations, have been wormed and treated for fleas. Proof of the vaccinations will be brought to the meeting and shown to you.
All dogs should be taken out each day for walks. When you have your meeting with the owners all routines, including the number and length of walks, will be discussed. The dog is only ever walked on a lead.
We/you would endeavour to contact the owner or the emergency contact. The owner or the emergency contact would be liable for any expenses incurred in taking the dog to the vet.
You will receive a daily allowance starting from £20 per day.
If you are interested in becoming a carer, please ring us for an informal chat and ask any questions or email us with your details and we will come back to you. You can also use the contact form on the ‘contact us’ tab. If we feel you are suitable we would then arrange to visit you at home.
Once again Albie and Percy had a wonderful time with Sue and Alan. We think they miss them when we get home. Alan has so much patience with Percy’s love of a ball game. We feel so lucky to be able to go away knowing our boys have as much fun on their holiday as we do on ours. We couldn’t be happier with PetStay.
Best wishes
Simon and Alison
It would seem that Zena had a lovely time with Pam who was very welcoming and who let us know that Zena had settled in well while we were away.
We wouldn’t hesitate to use Pam again if she is available and will be in touch again soon.
Linda
From beginning to end, the whole process has been excellent. From our initial meeting, to collecting our Brodie, our dog carers, Claire and Martin were fantastic. They took on board all of Brodie’s health issues and looked after Brodie as though she was their own. Great communication throughout and it was fantastic to receive timely updates whilst we were away, which meant we knew that Brodie was relaxed and happy. Priceless, and we highly recommend them. Thank you.
Karen
Max had a great stay with Barbara as always . Was very excited to see when when he is dropped of . Barbara is always very accommodating . Would highly recommend
Sharon
Moses (Greyhound) once again had a holiday booked with PetStay Suffolk. Due to a unforeseen accident with his usual career Moses was relocated to Anne, everything was dealt with by Claire with her usual professional and caring way. When we went to collect Moses, we found Anne to be lovely, and most importantly Moses had had a fabulous holiday once again.
Suzanne
Please can you pass on our thanks to Linda for caring for Alfie so beautifully for us. I really appreciated the updates and felt very confident that he was in safe hands.
Lisa
I have used PetStay Suffolk 3 times. Easy to book. They get to know yourself and your dogs needs. Then find a suitable carer match who you meet before your stay. Very professional and friendly service. Dog carers I have used are Barbara twice and Pam once. Both such lovely caring ladies who looked after my little dog Mia like she was there own. Would definitely recommend
Emily
Just a quick note to thank you for arranging Ruby and Blues stay with Roger.
They were clearly very well looked after and from the regular reports we got from him while we were away it looks like they enjoyed staying with him as much as he enjoyed their company.
We would not hesitate to use him again in the future.
David
Thank you so much to Denise and Dave for giving our dog another wonderful holiday. She is already looking forward to her next stay!
Rosie
AMAZING! would definitely recommend to anyone. My Dachshund Robson had the best time. I don’t think he wanted to come home😂 he loves the lady he was staying with. It was great that we could meet her too which I think helped my dog settle a lot too!
Rebecca
We’ve used PetStay on a number of occasions over the years for our cockapoo Lettie and more recently Lettie and our toy poodle Teddy. They recently stayed with a lovely couple who treated them like one of the family. We got regular updates from Martin & Claire and from the pictures we received whilst away, our fur babies were having a wonderful time and were spoilt rotten. Communication from Claire is always very prompt and she is always very helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend PetStay & Martin & Claire
Lisa
Shirley and Nick .. AJ loves her holidays with them and we never worry whilst she’s there. Thank you so much
Diane
We would highly recommend PetStay to anyone needing assurance their pet will be in safe hands and have a lovely holiday of their own! We hadn’t left Woody with a stranger before and after meeting Claire at her house before our trip, any concerns we had disappeared. Claire is a natural with dogs and he instantly felt right at home with the family. She shared some lovely photos whilst we were away to give us peace of mind and we knew he was being thoroughly looked after. We would definitely use the service again without hesitation.

Last year when a relative died we inherited an elderly Lhaso Apso called Toby . We have never owned a dog so it’s been a big learning curve. Finding PetStay was a great help to us the booking service was straightforward .We had holidays booked and Toby had never stayed in kennels. We liked that we were able to take Toby for a visit to see how they got on before we confirmed his stay. We were matched with a lovely lady Barbara and Toby has just returned from his second stay with her. The care she gives to him is excellent and she’s happy to answer our numerous questions. We have already booked his next stay.
Teresa
I have used PetStay Suffolk many times and our little dog has always been very well cared for and its the only way we can go away and relax knowing she is being loved and cared for in a loving home.
Johnny
So nice to go on holiday and know your dogs are being well looked after. Thank you Roger for your kindness and understanding with our dogs and for sharing your bed in this hot weather with them ! They will see you soon
Maddy
We are so happy to have been put in touch with Denise and Dave by PetStay. PetStay is a well thought out business for matching pets to dog boarders. Claire is very thorough, responsive and kind. Our pooch loves staying with Denise and Dave who are absolutely brilliant! They are perfect and understand our dog’s funny ways! We feel we have struck gold as we can go away knowing our dog is happy and safe. Thank you.
Tamara
We used PetStay, Suffolk for the first time last week and Dee & Dave (& Solo) were amazing. They looked after our Molly so well, they were so kind & accommodating, asking many questions to ensure they got to know her well & learn her little likes & dislikes. She had a great time, they sent us photos whilst we were away which was a lovely touch. We felt so relaxed whilst away as we knew they would look after her like their own. You can tell the minute you meet Dee & Dave that they love dogs so much.
Will be booking with them again no other choice now they are first class.
Sam
Barbara looked after Max whilst we were on holiday, she made regular contact with us updating how Max was and send photos over too. Would highly recommend using PetStay.
Sharon
We have used PetStay a few times (and have a few more bookings). We have always had a great experience, more importantly Moses our greyhound has a fabulous time, his recent holiday was with Roger (Suffolk area) who updated us with lots of photos and seems Roger enjoyed having Moses stay as much as Moses enjoyed his holiday with Roger. Plus we could enjoy our holiday without worrying, definitely no more kennels for Moses, I really can’t recommend PetStay enough, also a bit shout out for Claire who organises everything including making sure pet and carer are suitable for each other AAA+++
