PetStay West Midlands North and South Staffordshire Branch.
Hello, we are Sue and Simon Jennings the proud owners of the West Midlands North and South Staffs Branch of PetStay. We live in Sutton Coldfield with 2 children and our Cavapoo Ruby, we used to have 2 rescue Greyhounds Charlie and Noah who were a big part of our family. When they passed, we wanted to help other dogs and their owners. PetStay was the perfect opportunity and as we understand the effort and love owners put into the training and care of their dogs and from personal experience, I know that owners do not want to leave their furry family members in a kennel.
This is why 2 years ago we set up the PetStay West Midlands North and South Staffordshire Branch – to offer bespoke home boarding for family dogs. Its been such a success we have now taken on the West Midlands South Branch.
At Petstay we understand how difficult it is to leave this very important family member whilst you are away on holiday or for any length of time. We have a small select register of fellow dog lovers that are happy and trustworthy to care for your dogs in their own home in an environment that your dog would be happy to be in.
Why Choose PetStay West Midlands North and South Staffordshire Branch.
PetStay West Midlands North and South Staffordshire Branch covers Rugeley, Cannock, Lichfield Tamworth, Walsall Sutton Coldfield From B23 to WS15 post codes and offers an “Exclusive home from home service” whether you’re planning a trip for business, a weekend break or a fortnight get-away. The benefits of home boarding are being able to tailor make your dog’s “holiday” with PetStay. This means, we are able to follow the routines you already have in place at your own home, be that sleeping, feeding, exercise or companionship. Staying in a home environment means your dog will get lots of love and attention from a carer who will treat your dog as their own and that’s important, to you and to them!
Your dog will be matched with a carer who you will meet prior to your holiday to ensure you are happy and you have made the right choice for your dog. You can go on Holiday knowing that your dog will be getting the love and affection you would give them yourself in a safe environment.
Our Host Families.
We have handpicked our host families ensuring we only employ the very best we only take on carers that we would be happy to leave our own dog Ruby with and Ruby is always taken along to meet the new carers. All carers are experienced dog owners and most importantly – love dogs! You can choose to either board your dog(s) alone or if your dog enjoys doggie company, with a carer who has a friendly dog of their own.
A “sniffing out” meeting will be set up so you and your dog(s) can meet their carer and see their holiday home beforehand. Safety is very important to us, so we never mix dogs from different families and we keep all dogs on leashes whilst walking in public places. Finally, all hosts are fully insured and regularly inspected by ourselves to make sure they maintain the stringent criteria required for the license by the local authority.
How it Works
We take great care in getting to know you and your dog before they home board with PetStay and take full details of your dog so that we can find the perfect carer for him or her. We will guide you through the booking process and a “holiday list” will be provided of essential items that will need to be packed to make sure your dog(s) have their favourite things with them. So, if you would like to book a holiday with us or find out more about our service, please do get in touch on the numbers or email below. I look forward to hearing from you and providing the very best home boarding that West Midlands North and South Staffordshire Branch have to offer.

Frequently Asked Questions about becoming a PetStay Carer
What are the requirements of becoming a carer?
You must be a genuine dog lover, have experience of looking after dogs and you need to be home during the day so you have plenty of time to give to the dogs you are caring for. You must have a secure garden and agree to abide by PetStay guidelines. You are allowed to have a dog of your own as long as your dog gets on with other dogs.
How are your carers vetted?
If you meet all the requirements listed above, we will come and visit you at your home. We will check the security of the garden, explain PetStay procedures and show you the guidelines each carer needs to follow. If you are happy with everything and we feel you would make a suitable PetStay carer, we would follow up a reference and arrange public liability insurance for you.
How many dogs can I look after?
Our service is on a one-to-one basis, so only dogs from the same household will stay with you. You are allowed to take up to three dogs from the same household, BUT you choose what you are happy with. We will ask you how many dogs you would like to look after and what sized dog/s you would be happy to care for.
Do I have to provide the food?
No, the owner will bring any food or treats for the duration of the stay. Any toys, bedding, medication and leads will also be brought.
Does the dog/s have to be vaccinated?
Yes each dog MUST have up to date vaccinations, have been wormed and treated for fleas. Proof of the vaccinations will be brought to the meeting and shown to you.
What about walking the dogs?
All dogs should be taken out each day for walks. When you have your meeting with the owners all routines, including the number and length of walks, will be discussed. The dog is only ever walked on a lead.
What if the dog becomes ill?
We/you would endeavour to contact the owner or the emergency contact. The owner or the emergency contact would be liable for any expenses incurred in taking the dog to the vet.
Will I be paid?
You will receive a daily allowance of £15 for one dog, £23 for two dogs and £31 for three dogs.
What happens next?
If you are interested in becoming a carer, please ring us for an informal chat and ask any questions or email us with your details and we will come back to you. You can also use the contact form on the ‘contact us’ tab. If we feel you are suitable we would then arrange to visit you at home.

Thank you so much for looking after Poppy for me recently. She obviously enjoyed staying with you as she seemed so happy when I picked her up. The arrangements went very will and without a hitch.
West Midlands North
This is the second time we have used PetStay for our whippet Luna and they have provided outstanding care on both occasions. Luna stayed with carer Fiona and her family over the weekend and we felt confident the minute we left her that she was in safe and loving hands. Fiona kindly kept us updated with daily pictures and posts on how she was settling in, which we really appreciated. It really was lovely to know she was being looked after by a family with young children, who I knew would give her lots of fuss and attention. I wouldn’t hesitate to have Fiona look after Luna again in future – excellent service. Thank you PetStay!”
Sue is an outstanding carer in Solihull. Freckles, my blue roan cocker spaniel, has just stayed with Sue and her terrier, Poppy, again. We’re regulars!! Sue is flexible, caring, very kind and reassuring. She keeps me posted whilst I’m away from Freckles and is always available at the end of the phone. Thank you very much.
Oscar had a wonderful time. He was so chilled and happy when I picked him up. Ninette and her family were wonderful with him and they sent some lovely photos of what he was up to while I was away. I would thoroughly recommend Ninette and PetStay to those wanting a loving, home from home stay for their pet. Many thanks
Leo was look after by Ninette who lives in Tamworth a true dog lover and really looked after Leo unfortunately Leo had a bad stomach and she cleaned up the mess with no fuss. I highly recommend her, she must have sent me hundreds of photos and videos. Leo as now got a new holiday home in Tamworth.
Lesley kindly had Eddie for us in September for 2 weeks and he absolutely loved her! Just wanted to give you some great feedback for her and also book another stay with her if we can please. She was so friendly and listened to Eddies usual routine. She really made him feel like he was on holiday too with all of the little treats!
This was the first time using PetStay, my usual boarders with a company were not available so I was a little nervous placing my girls with someone new. However, their stay with Lesley went well. Lesley was friendly and welcoming and keen to know about my dogs and best to look after them and what to look out for. Lesley was very thorough with completing the paper work and ensuring all documentation was completed. Lesley sent us photos of our dogs to show that they were settled which is always good and stops you worrying about them. Lesley messaged me about a rash on the belly of one of my dogs and I assured her that there was nothing to worry about, but it was good that she let me know about it. On collecting my dogs they were in good spirits and eager to see me, they were in good condition and I even think that Lesley had given them a bath as they smelt nice and fresh. I would leave my dogs with Lesley again with no worries. Thanks Lesley.
Max had a lovely time with a lovely couple Agnes and Bobby who looked after Max for a week. They took him out everyday with their dog Tina . I would recommend PetStay to everyone who needs someone to look after their dogs, so much better being looked after in their home . Thank you PetStay
Alfie & Ralph
Peace of mind when we leave our two dogs with Lesley. Home from Home. Get spoilt, well looked after and update photos as to what the dogs are up to. Plus Alfie and Ralph feel totally relaxed. Lot of care and attention given to the dogs from Lesley and her family. Can recommend Lesley.
Marmalade is so happy staying with Auntie Elaine or Auntie Sue, he feels safe and secure and they understand his quirks, they really listen to his needs and provide him with a very happy home I sometimes think he doesn’t want to leave! Very happy with the service it’s a true home from home for him :).
We have used PetStay for many years and have always received super service. Bertie loves to stay with Karen who we request each time but has also stayed with other fabulous carers. Sue and Simon are so efficient and friendly.
Robbie & Poppy
Hi Sue….thank you so much for putting us in touch with Karen. Robbie and Poppy had a great time and were brilliantly looked after by Karen. She’s a lovely caring lady and I knew straight away that it would be a home from home for them. We had a wonderful and stress-free time with our grandson knowing that our fur babies were being perfectly taken care of.
Sue and Dennis
We left it late to organise our summer holiday and had previously used PetStay twice …Our local carer was unavailable and we managed to find an absolutely lovely lady through PetStay to look after our dog. Brilliant service and communications from the company and the carer – they really do care about your beloved pet. Many thanks PetStay and Sue – really appreciate your service. Well recommended.
Ebony recently stayed with Lorraine and Jamie. She was well cared for and from the photos we received it looks like she really made herself at home! My children were delighted to receive regular updates of what Ebony was up to. This is the second time we have used PetStay and we will certainly use them again, it is certainly a much kinder option than kennels, we have been so pleased with the service offered. Thank you!
Its the first time that I have used the service. My dogs carers were kind, considerate, and provided excellent care. Would recommend. Many thanks.
I had high hopes for this service and wow did it over-deliver. Very reassuring and helpful carer, my little puppy was given better care for a week than I could give her myself. A++++ would absolutely recommend.
Poppy spent 10 days with Hayley. We met up with Hayley prior to her stay, and she completely eased my anxiety. I was kept up to date with messages and pictures, which put my mind at rest. Poppy had a fantastic time, I’m not sure she wanted to leave!.
Robbie & Poppy
Hi Sue and Simon….yet again Robbie and Poppy had a wonderful holiday with Dee and Tony. It was the first time we’d left them for two weeks and it was no surprise to find they’d had a great time without us ! We had a lovely restful holiday knowing they were in the very best of care. I can’t recommend your service highly enough. All the carers are fantastic and have treated our much loved Shih Tzu’s as if they were their own. We have already arranged our next little break in August !
Thanks again and kindest regards,
Sue and Dennis
I have been using PetStay for a number of years, my experience has always been very positive and I highly recommend pet stay. It’s very reassuring to know my dog is well looked after while I’m away. I will continue to use in the future
Fudge was looked after like he was their own! He is walked twice a day, given lots of affection and their home and garden is a great place for pets to play and get exercise! They are a loving family and we all get on very well! We missed Fudge so much but Sue sent us lots of photos and updates. Fudge would love to stay with them again. Thank you so much Sue and Simon, you made our trip that much easier! Hope you are all well! X.
Sox & Sweep
Sue and family were amazing with our two dogs, Sox and Sweep. Sweep has had a lot of anxiety lately and Sue made him relax and even got him out and about walking which he had been refusing to do lately. I honestly think both dogs didn’t want to come home. It’s so nice knowing we now have a safe and friendly place we can leave the dogs when we go away. I honestly felt so relaxed knowing Sue had them. Excellent service by excellent people.
Angela and Chris in Tamworth were a lovely couple, with a great empathy for dogs.
It’s always difficult entrusting your ‘best friend’ to another person, however we are glad to recommend Angela and Chris.
Poppy was curled up relaxed and snoozing when we picked her up, and didn’t seem at all fazed at the change of surroundings.
This is the second time we’ve used Petstay (also Elaine in Walsall) and have been very happy on both occasions.
Thanks once again

Home from home!!
We have just picked up our 2 rescue greyhounds and they have obviously been very well cared for. During our holiday, we received a photo and update which was lovely and reassuring. Our girls were made to feel so welcome and we were very happy leaving them with their Petstay family. We will definitely be using Petstay again, thank you 🐶🐶
To all Dog owners, I can highly recommend PetStay, I own a 22 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback, she stayed with Pet Stay for 18 days, cared for by Ninette, who took care of Jupiter, impeccably. I have used Kennels before, but I wouldn’t ever again, Pet Stay, provides a home from home care service.
“I have used PetStay for a while now, so I thought it was about time I left this wonderful company and Buster’s favourite carer Lorraine a review. I couldn’t ever imagine putting Buster in kennels so this is the perfect alternative and we get to go on holiday without having to worry about Buster. Buster loves going to Lorraine’s he actually pulls me to get up to her house and you can see that Lorraine loves her job so much. Booking is so easy and there is no stress at all with anything. It will always be my number one!”
Gibbs has stayed with Elaine at Pet Stay on a few occasions now and its home from for him. He gets spoilt with walks in the park and lots of cuddles. Most of all we can go away and feel reassured he is in the best hands. Elaine is understanding of his quirky and nervous ways. I would highly recommand Pet Stay who I have been using now for several years.
We were rather anxious to be leaving our 14 year old dog, Toby, for four weeks but having met and used the carers before (for a shorter stay), we knew that he would be in very good hands. Our thanks to Sue at Petstay North for taking Toby for the first couple of days when the holiday dates of our carer clashed with ours and safely delivering him to them. We have found all Petstay organisers to be very helpful in overcoming any logistical problems. We returned to find a very contented Toby who had clearly enjoyed his stay in a kind and friendly environment.
Rosie had a wonderful time with Sue her sitter. Although I missed her so much I was 110% confident that she was looked after amazingly at all times.
Wonderful service and sitters.
We would like to thank Elaine and Bob, who looked after our two darlings (dogs) over the bank holiday August. Elaine and Bob made Alfie and Ralph very comfortable and spoilt with their walks and interaction, I don’t think Alfie and Ralph wanted to leave them, they settled in immediately. Excellent boarders, who took on board our and the dogs needs and will certainly recommend them to look after your dog/s.
As she is only 6 months old we were nervous of leaving Tilly, but Carol was so good with her and it was clear that she had a really happy time while we were away. Carol did everything possible to stick to Tilly’s routine and we were pleased to see photos of her having lovely walks and happy playtimes. We would have no hesitation in recommending both the Petstay Service or Carol and we will not feel at all guilty about going away without her in future.
We found PetStay on the internet and was very happy with the service, Skye stayed with Lorraine in Great Barr. She kept us informed while we were away on holiday that Skye was okay and enjoying herself which really put our minds at rest as it was Sykes first time away. Lorraine was lovely and we definitely use PetStay and Lorraine again.
This is the first time using PetStay. We took bart to ninette and he has really enjoyed his stay. We had plenty of updates and photos of him enjoying himself and it put our minds to rest. He really fitted in well with the whole family. I would recommend it to anybody.
“I left Maisie with Christine for 3 days the first time whilst I was away and was very pleased with the care given. Christine has just looked after Maisie again for a week and has had a ball! She was treated like one of the family being taken on outings and spoiled rotten. I will definitely put Maisie with Christine again when I am away – it was very touching to see how emotional she was when I collected her which shows she loves her as much as I do. Thank you PetStay and particularly Christine”
I have just used PetStay for the first time and will definitely use them again. My initial enquiry to Sue and Simon was dealt with very quickly and efficiently. My Shih tzu Alfie was very well looked after by his carer Sheila who was happy to keep me updated while I was away. Would definitely recommend.
Our dog Fudge, a Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, stayed with Anthony and Jane for 9 nights recently and was looked after exceptionally! We booked through Sue at Petstay which was easy and the match with Anthony and Jane was perfect. This is the first time Fudge has stayed with anyone but family and Anthony and Jane were as warm and welcoming as family! We received photos of Fudge which helped us enjoy our holiday more as we knew he was having his own little holiday, with 3 walks a day and lots of care and affection which he loves. We can’t thank Anthony and Jane enough but we hope to see them very soon as we feel so very grateful to have met a couple who care for Fudge like we do! All the very best! Xxxx.
We couldn’t have been happier with the love and care shown to our puppy George. A true home from home! We were sent daily pictures and videos that showed us what fun he was having! Will definitely use Pet Stay again!.
My two dogs Barney and Baxter stayed once again with Elaine and Bob. I never worry about them when I’m away as I know they look after them just as much as I do. I leave my dogs with Elaine and Bob rather than family as I know they get their undivided attention. Five star service.
Just to say we are always happy to recommend PetStay to family and friends. We always know that Molly’s being well looked after when she stays with her career Dee. Home from home for her and peace of mind for us.
We always use PetStay to care for Max whenever we need to leave him for holidays or just a short break. Sue is lovely to deal with and it is very easy to book with her and receive a prompt reply. Max always goes to stay with PetStay carers Roger & Gill, he loves them both and is always happy and excited when he arrives at their home. They care for his every need just as we would and this is exactly what we are looking for, a home from home for him. We are then able to enjoy our holidays knowing he is in their care. We can happily recommend PetStay to everyone. A big thank you to Sue and Roger & Gill. xx
Best wishes from Bob & Rosemarie
Bob & Rosemarie
Lovely home with 1:1 attention. Our dog really happy when we left her and when we collected her.
Dexter & Pepper
I would just like to say thank you for looking after Dexter & Pepper while I was on a resent holiday break.
Gwen & Claire done a great job looking after them. I was very relaxed leaving the dogs with them because I could detect when I first meet them that they were true genuine dog lovers. And of course Dexter & Pepper picked up on this and were very happy all through their 14 day stay.
I am very happy with the service you have provided and would be very happy to use your service again in the future if you are happy to have the boys stay with you again.
Beryl and Harvey
“A big thank you to Jenny at PetStay West Midlands North branch who did a fabulous job looking after my two dogs when I was away. It made the break that much more relaxing as I was reassured about the care and attention my dogs were getting in my absence – just like I would give them at home. I would definitely recommend Jenny to any dog owners out there, and would use the PetStay service again”
Elizabeth – Moseley

Jo and Alan – Sutton Coldfield
“I am really impressed with Petstay. I used the West Midlands North branch and our Miniature Schnauzer Cassie had a lovely time with one of their sitters Angela. It was the day of my son’s wedding, so I was delighted to know that Cassie would be looked after so that we could enjoy the day without worrying about her. This was the first time Cassie had spent any length of time away from us, and I know she had lots of attention and a good run around, which is what she loves the most”
Rose – West Yorkshire
Thank you so much for looking after Bailey so well for us. What a fantastic service you offer and we would not hesitate to recommend you to anyone who worries about the welfare of their dog whilst they are away. You and your family completely put our minds at rest and enabled us to go away without worrying about Bailey and he had such a wonderful time. It meant so much to us, thank you once again.
Lynne – Great Barr
We were over the moon with the service we had from PetStay. Pam and Bryan were lovely and we know Bonnie was very well looked after. We have since recommended our friends to you, who have also been matched to Pam and Bryan. We will definitely use your service again, knowing Pam and Bryan are stars. We would give 5 paws.
Kirsty and Richard – Clayhanger
Bill & Ben
We were very happy with everything. Elaine was lovely and the boys were happy and relaxed when we picked them up. We won’t ever be using kennels again, as this is a much less stressful option for them.
Linda – Sutton Coldfield
Hi Jenny, I just wanted to send a quick message to say thank you for having Foster over Christmas. You and your business has helped us a couple of times this year and I can’t fault the service one bit. Not only is it nice knowing Foster is being cared for by a lovely family/home but you even went the extra mile and brought Foster back to us, saving my wife the trip. It’s the little details that make the business so special, such as sending update messages to let you know how they are getting on. Thank you again and I look forward to dealing with you in 2015.
Dave and Anna – Great Barr
Hi Jenny, Ted appeared to have had a lovely weekend, so much so we didn’t think he wanted to come home! I am happy to recommend PetStay to anyone.
Debbie – Four Oaks
Ted & Lola
Hi Jenny, I just wanted to thank you for arranging the care for Ted and Lola last week. I knew that they would be happy and safe with Elaine and her husband, who not only went out of their way to stick to the dogs’ routines, but also fetched and carried them when transport became a problem! The fact that you made arrangements at short notice was so helpful, and everything went smoothly.
Liz Donnelly – Sutton Coldfield
Jenny, I’m so glad that Cassie was okay, and when I first met you I didn’t feel worried at leaving Cassie with you, I knew when we picked her up she had enjoyed herself with you. It’s so nice to meet someone who cares for the dogs like they are your own, if anyone asks me about a dog sitter I will most definitely recommend you.
Lynda Turner – Nether Whitacre
Home from home for our Blue…we think it is a brilliant idea, we can relax and enjoy our holiday knowing or furry friend is being cared for.
Thank you for looking after me so well, walking me regularly and allowing me to stay. Blue
Emma Kingscote-Birch – Birch Conton in the Elms
Cleo has had a fantastic stay with Jenny and her family. After the initial meeting, we knew Cleo would be made welcome and feel part of the family! Jenny sent a photo of her to show how well she had settled in and put me at ease. She came back home happy and exhausted after much love and many long walks! Thank you so much! Nicola xx.
Nicola Ryall – Erdington
My dog Mabel has had a great time with her PetStay carer. I’ve been very happy with the service and will use them again!
Rachel Stacey – Four Oaks
Mo & Tramp
Just dropping you an email to let you know how pleased we were with your service. Mo and Tramp were taken care of by Julie and her family very well while we had our holiday for a week and seemed happy and contented when we collected them. Can you thank Julie on our behalf and we shall certainly use you again if we need to and recommend your service to others.
Kind Regards Alison Hindley – Brewood, Staffordshire
We were very pleased with the service poppy received.
Regards Stewart – Walsall
Thank you for the pictures of his highness, they are his typical poses. He certainly seemed to enjoy being with you and the fact that you had no trouble with his eating was great. Sometimes he can show his annoyance by not eating his dinner.
I know he enjoyed being with you as he was about to come home with Martin when he dropped by. That is a good sign. Tom and I are absolutely thrilled that he has taken to you as this means we have a little more freedom.
I like the fact that you only take one dog at a time, Charlie is ok with others as you found but he is really a people dog. It is nice that he is in the home environment so it is home from home for him and he was very chilled out when we came to pick him up. Thank you all as a family for the love and attention you gave to our Charlie.
We would highly recommend this form of pet residency especially for dogs like Charlie who are used to being part of the family.
He is looking forward to his next stay in October.
Carol and Tom – Perry Barr
I would unreservedly recommend Jenny as being the ideal sitter and the service both her and her family provides is to the highest standards. During our first preliminary visit our dog Presley made himself at home and even played football in Jenny’s rear garden with her son. We knew immediately that our dog would be staying in a home from home and left him without hesitation. Jenny is a wonderful ambassador for Pet Stay and Presley is already looking forward to his next holiday with this lovely family.
Many thanks Bill, Jan & Presley!!! – Water Orton
Hi Jenny, just wanted to say thanks for looking after Burt for us. Scott said you loved him. We will definitely be using you again and will be recommending you to everyone. Thanks again.
