Our daily rate is made up of two separate payments: the Arrangement Fee and the Carer’s Allowance. Together, these payments cover the full cost of your dog’s stay, ensuring they receive loving care in a safe and happy home.
Prices listed are per day (or part thereof), except for Bank Holidays, when the Carer’s Allowance is doubled — because we believe our wonderful carers deserve extra for their dedication during these special times!
The Arrangement Fee secures your dog’s booking and is due within five days of meeting your chosen carer. For repeat bookings, this fee must be paid within five days of your requested dates being confirmed by PetStay.
This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, as it covers the service provided by your local PetStay branch in carefully matching your dog with a suitable carer. It also contributes to essential operational costs, including:
The Carer’s Allowance is a separate payment, made directly to your chosen carer when you drop your dog off for their holiday. On Bank Holidays, this allowance is doubled, reflecting the extra commitment and care our carers provide during these times.
Together, the Arrangement Fee and the Carer’s Allowance make up the full daily rate for your dog’s stay.

You must be a genuine dog lover, have experience of looking after dogs and you need to be home during the day so you have plenty of time to give to the dogs you are caring for. You must have a secure garden and agree to abide by PetStay guidelines. You are allowed to have a dog of your own as long as your dog gets on with other dogs.
If you meet all the requirements listed above, we will come and visit you at your home. We will check the security of the garden, explain PetStay procedures and show you the guidelines each carer needs to follow. If you are happy with everything and we feel you would make a suitable PetStay carer, we would follow up a reference and arrange public liability insurance for you.
Our service is on a one-to-one basis, so only dogs from the same household will stay with you. You are allowed to take up to three dogs from the same household, BUT you choose what you are happy with. We will ask you how many dogs you would like to look after and what sized dog/s you would be happy to care for.
No, the owner will bring any food or treats for the duration of the stay. Any toys, bedding, medication and leads will also be brought.
Yes each dog MUST have up to date vaccinations, have been wormed and treated for fleas. Proof of the vaccinations will be brought to the meeting and shown to you.
All dogs should be taken out each day for walks. When you have your meeting with the owners all routines, including the number and length of walks, will be discussed. The dog is only ever walked on a lead.
We/you would endeavour to contact the owner or the emergency contact. The owner or the emergency contact would be liable for any expenses incurred in taking the dog to the vet.
You will receive a daily allowance starting from £19 per day.
If you are interested in becoming a carer, please ring us for an informal chat and ask any questions or email us with your details and we will come back to you. You can also use the contact form on the ‘contact us’ tab. If we feel you are suitable we would then arrange to visit you at home.

Daisy stayed with Alan and Kristina for 16 nights. Alan and Kristina were amazing they were very welcoming and did a great job of looking after Daisy, who came home a very happy dog. We will definitely re book and use them again thank you very much.

Mabel was very well cared for by Natalie and her husband, they took her for long walks and interacted with her at home and in the garden.
Instructions for her stay were easy to follow and we were happy with all the arrangements.
Janet
Jasper our Border Collie had a lovely stay with our PetStay host. Everything went to plan, information was given in good time and we would definitely use again if we need to. Jasper was well looked after and we were encouraged to check in on how he was doing and photos exchanged. A great service and we went on holiday relaxed knowing our boy was in good hands.
Jo
We were very happy to leave Suki with Leanne. She obviously loves dogs and understood that Suki can be highly strung. Leanne stayed with her all the time we were away and Suki was obviously content with her. We will always use PetStay, the staff are always friendly and helpful and Suki has always come home happy.
Anne
Ozzie has stayed with Alan and Kristina a number of times now and he really loves them. I always feel happy and confident when I leave him and I know they take great care of him. PetStay is a fantastic, caring company and I would recommend them to anyone.
Linda
Ruby has just had another lovely stay with Tracey and Brian. They take such good care of her and she has a great time with them, they treat her as if she was their own. We get lots of updates and photos of all the things she is doing and she always comes back very happy.
Hilary and Steve
Willow (dog) loves going to stay with John and Francis. We are always at ease that she really get spoilt and looked after to a high standard. They really are a lovely couple.

I can’t believe just how marvellous PetStay is. I wish I’d know about this years ago. From talking & messaging Katie, who explained everything & her putting us in touch with the wonderful carers George & Christine everything has been perfect. Our little dog , Ned, was looked after so well. They are such a lovely couple , they treated Ned like their own. I’m so greatful & happy to have found the perfect holiday home from home for him.
Our gorgeous Labrador Buddy has been going on holiday to Tracy (Auntie Tracy’s) since he was a puppy and he’s now almost 8! Tracy is an absolute star and allows Buddy to treat her home as his. She sends updates daily, including details and photos of what he has been up to and she goes above and beyond to make sure he has an enjoyable stay. Buddy has a big personality and is very cheeky and Tracy loves him so much. We wouldn’t want him to spend his holiday with anyone else!
Jo
Karen was amazing. Buddy was so lucky to be matched with her. He had a great time and came back with some extra skills. Thank you to the whole team. It makes such a difference when you know your beloved pet is having a holiday of their own.
Jayne
What can I say, easy to organise and book. Benji is a strange one but settled well with Christine and Family so we never have any concerns, and he’s now been several times and wouldn’t hesitate to use again next time, Thankyou team PetStay.
Chris
Suki spent 9 days with Karen again recently and had the best time! Suki’s quite highly strung and can be hard to settle but Karen is so good with her she soon relaxed and enjoyed herself! Karen sends me lots of photos and messages throughout her stay so I can always enjoy my holiday knowing Suki could not be in better hands! We will always try to have Karen as our dog carer if possible!
Anne
I have to say both Lulu and Nancy settled in well with Debbie and Kevin and from photos and messages they were spoiled well for their stay.
Both Debbie and Kevin assured me they were both looked after well and were well very happy and settled when I picked them up.
Really happy with the care they took with them and will ensure I will ask for them in the future for future stays.
Siobhan
If you’d like your dog to have a home-from home, wonderful holiday while you’re away, this business and the lovely people who host dogs are simply the best! We’ve been using them for quite a few years, and can’t speak highly enough of their professionalism and caring.
Frances
Great service received as always . My dog stays with the same lovely couple. Who treat him like one of the family.
Tracy
Reggie was well looked after whilst we was away, they kept in touch so you knew he was happy or if they was an issue, nice couple and made to feel welcome.
Olivia
Ozzie loved his stay with Kristina and Alan. He certainly made himself at home! I’m sure he is looking forward to his next stay with them in a couple of weeks. They are a lovely couple and were so good with Ozzie. Katie from PetStay was very helpful and sorted everything out for us. I have been using PetStay for many years and would definitely recommend them
Linda
Fantastic service!! Ismet and Chris look after Sidney like he is one of the family .I couldn’t ask for a better couple. I know he is in the best hands when he stays there.
Tracy
Excellent service. Admin quick to answer emails. Frank stays with a local couple who are fabulous. They look after him so well and send daily photos showing he has a really fun time. Highly recommended.
Sue
A great business, so professionally run, but also so caring. Your dog is looked after by really super people, who’ll be a home from home – or even better! We’re tremendously grateful for the marvellous care our special needs dog has always received.
Frances
I just wanted to say that we were very pleased with the care and service from Siobhan when we left Alfie with her for our recent break to Disneyland Paris. It was the first time since we got Alfie almost four years ago that we had left him with anyone, so was anxious about how he might react, but the regular updates and photographs was very reassuring. Knowing he was getting one to one care and attention was much better than putting him in kennels along with lots of other dogs (in fact if that was the only other option my wife would have refused to leave him at all lol).
Many thanks to the PetStay team for helping make our time away such a wonderful experience.
Tim
