PetStay York Branch
Hi, I’m Tracy and this is our family dog Tilly. Welcome to PetStay York, Harrogate & North Leeds branch which I have the great delight to bring ‘home dog boarding’ to the area of York, Harrogate & North Leeds. Like myself Tilly likes her home comforts and would prefer to be lying on a loving knee rather than alone in a kennel. I have been a dog carer with PetStay for nearly 4 years now, enjoying every minute of it to the extent that when an opportunity came along to buy the York, Harrogate & North Leeds Branch I could not wait to get started and work closely with other dog lovers like myself as I strongly believe that a dog is better in an home environment rather than a kennel.
If you’re looking for a holiday home for your beloved dog/s then look no further then PetStay I can match her/him to one of our team of lovely carers who are all vetted by me and are council licensed and fully insured.
If you would be interested in being one of our dog carers then give me a ring for an informal chat.

Frequently Asked Questions about becoming a PetStay Carer
What are the requirements of becoming a carer?
You must be a genuine dog lover, have experience of looking after dogs and you need to be home during the day so you have plenty of time to give to the dogs you are caring for. You must have a secure garden and agree to abide by PetStay guidelines. You are allowed to have a dog of your own as long as your dog gets on with other dogs.
How are your carers vetted?
If you meet all the requirements listed above, we will come and visit you at your home. We will check the security of the garden, explain PetStay procedures and show you the guidelines each carer needs to follow. If you are happy with everything and we feel you would make a suitable PetStay carer, we would follow up a reference and arrange public liability insurance for you.
How many dogs can I look after?
Our service is on a one-to-one basis, so only dogs from the same household will stay with you. You are allowed to take up to three dogs from the same household, BUT you choose what you are happy with. We will ask you how many dogs you would like to look after and what sized dog/s you would be happy to care for.
Do I have to provide the food?
No, the owner will bring any food or treats for the duration of the stay. Any toys, bedding, medication and leads will also be brought.
Does the dog/s have to be vaccinated?
Yes each dog MUST have up to date vaccinations, have been wormed and treated for fleas. Proof of the vaccinations will be brought to the meeting and shown to you.
What about walking the dogs?
All dogs should be taken out each day for walks. When you have your meeting with the owners all routines, including the number and length of walks, will be discussed. The dog is only ever walked on a lead.
What if the dog becomes ill?
We/you would endeavour to contact the owner or the emergency contact. The owner or the emergency contact would be liable for any expenses incurred in taking the dog to the vet.
Will I be paid?
You will receive a daily allowance starting from £12 per day.
What happens next?
If you are interested in becoming a carer, please ring us for an informal chat and ask any questions or email us with your details and we will come back to you. You can also use the contact form on the ‘contact us’ tab. If we feel you are suitable we would then arrange to visit you at home.

‘We were apprehensive about leaving Toby for the first time but Michelle and her family were brilliant. They looked after Toby really well and sent us regular updates which meant we could enjoy our mini-break! Toby absolutely loved his new playmate Gooch and can’t wait to visit again. Thanks too to Tracy who organised everything for us in a very professional and efficient way! Looking forward to using you again!’
‘Well we were really worried about leaving Toby With Sam due to him being very devoted to us. After picking him up from Sam today he was totally relaxed happy and you could see that he had been really well looked after PS: I think he can’t wait to see her again A big thank you for looking after Toby.’
‘Leo has just returned after his stay with Fiona and Chris. We worried about leaving him, he’s a lively border collie dog, but Fiona and Chris looked after him well. We were updated mid week, which put our minds at rest. I would not hesitate to use PetStay again.’
‘Buffy stayed with Fiona and Chris from the 7th to the 9th September. She was very relaxed when we picked her up and obviously had a nice time and got on well with their lovely little dog Len. We hope to use them again in the future.’
Pete & Tina
‘Just wanted to let you know how delighted we were that Alison and Roger looked after Bobby for us – we could not have been happier with everything. I won’t hesitate getting in touch in the future should I need to.’
‘Many thanks to Tracy at PetStay for finding me a new couple to look after Max when his usual PetStay sitters were booked up. I was a little worried about him going somewhere new but as soon as I met Steve and Shirley I felt so much better. Max has just spent 5 days with them and Steve kindly sent me a text to let me know that everything was going well and also sent a photo of Max enjoying the lovely sunny weather laying on Shirley’s lap. Tracy really does take into account your pets needs when finding sitters which was especially important for me as Max is a miniature Terrier so a secure garden was particularly important. I would definitely recommend PetStay.’
‘Steve and Shirley from PetStay looked after our French Bulldog recently for 3 nights. The whole process was easy and professional. It was the first time we have left our dog with someone else for more than 1 night but Steve ensured we felt at ease and updated us after the first night to let us know he had settled in and everything was going well. When we picked him up, Steve let us know what they’d been up to and how he had got on. We would not hesitate to use PetStay, or Steve and Shirley, again.’
Archie was well looked after by Fiona and Chris who were very welcoming and flexible with arrangements and times. Will use them again in future.
Bobby was looked after very well by Anne and her family, and still enjoying his sleeps.
Tam & Eddie
Our two Trailhounds stayed with Cat recently and she took excellent care of them, making us feel very at ease that they were in safe hands. Very professional service from Tracy and from Cat. Will be happy to use PetStay again.
My greyhound stayed with Catherine whilst we were away for a week and at relatively short notice she was a lifesaver in what was a very stressful time for me, it was reassuring to know that my dog was well looked after and I’m very very grateful to Cat, PetStay and Tracy who runs PetStay. I will definitely use again.
Ted & Billy
We have no doubts at all that Ted and Billy had a wonderful time on their holiday with Joyce & Tony. Right from their taster night stopover, it was obvious they had received lots of walks and cuddles. When it came to leaving them for their 11 night stay, both dogs couldn’t wait to get back into the house to say hello again.
We really enjoyed receiving our updates and photos, and it helped us to completely relax and enjoy our holiday, knowing the boys were so happy and well taken care of.
The whole process with PetStay and the pet carers is extremely professional. We will definitely book with Tracy and her team of carers again.
It would be amazing if the same pet carers were available at that time – the boys would just love it! Thank you so much.
Jean & Kevin
“We have used Petstay for the first time for our rescue Lurcher and we cannot recommend it enough. We were initially matched with a carer who we met and he met the dog. Chris the dog sitter is amazing. He fussed Horace and made sure he knew his routines and was happy to accommodate our routine. We will definitely be booking again as we know that Horace is very well looked after and he enjoys his time there. Thank you so much!”
“A super big thanks to PetStay York and Katie for looking after our Border Terrier for six days during our holiday abroad. We felt very at ease leaving Bella with you and could relax knowing she was in good hands. Great communications also whilst we were away. We would highly recommend PetStay as we’ve also left Bella with Brenda/Ken before and also had no issues at all, and know she’ll be well cared for. We have Bella booked with them again in August. :)”
Jane & Steve
“Milo went to stay with Alison and Rodger. It was only a couple of months after we had moved house and Milo hadn’t settled that well. He has always been a nervous dog but now he was shaking when I left him on his own in the house. I was worried how he would settle while we were away on holiday. I needn’t have worried! Alison and Rodger had taken excellent care of Milo and he was looking very happy when I went to pick him up. Thank you! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend PetStay.”
“Poppy has recently had a stay with Catherine (Cat) through Petstay, and I must say how impressed we have been with Petstay and Cat. The process from start to finish has been excellent. Tracy was extreemly helpful during the initial booking, and Cat has been outstanding. Cat accomodated all our needs and provided Poppy with continious love and a fantastic home from home. Cat took lots of photos which she shared with us on our return from holiday, which I feel was really thoughtful. We cannot praise Cat enough for her committment to looking after our loved furry ones. We would highly recommend Petstay. Thank you xx”
Excellent and caring service from Tracy in York.
Our dog is elderly with some health issues so was difficult to leave her for a week. However Tracy provided exceptional care and our dog was well cared for.
Tracy kept us updated with pictures and texts while we were away.
Ziggy & Sully
I went to New Zealand for 3weeks and felt that this was too long for my boys Ziggy and Sully to be left in kennels. I contacted pet stay and Tracey contacted Helen and Andrew whom I met with the boys before I decided too book. I felt happy to leave the boys with them as they settled in whilst we had our 1st visit. They are both very friendly and obviously love dogs, I will be happy to use PetStay in the future. Thank you Helen and Andrew.
We were going abroad over the Christmas period and it was only fair that Kitsy our 12 year old Tibetan terrier would be left with a family as the kennels wasn’t an option for that length of time. Thankfully we came across PetStay. Kitsy was very well looked after by a wonderful couple Helen and Andrew, for the 19 days we were away. We were sent updates and a picture of Kitsy on Christmas day. We knew when we left her that she’d be treated like their own and felt at ease leaving her for that length of time. A huge thank you to Tracy for co-ordinating it all for us. I highly recommend PetStay!
Buddy, our beautiful one year old Labrador stayed with Tracy for two nights earlier this month and I was really worried about leaving him. I needn’t have been as Buddy was looked after as well as he is at home. Tracy sent me regular messages and photos of Buddy and really put my mind at ease. Buddy will be staying with Tracy again in July for two weeks and my family and I can relax knowing that he is being looked after by someone who loves him as much as we do. Thank you Tracy, you’re brilliant!
Teddy & Alfie
Teddy and Alfie had a lovely Christmas with Nicole. Thank you so much to you and your girls for having them and letting their first Christmas be a comfy and fun time!!
Thank you Tracy at Petstay for arranging for our two dogs, Pink and Basil, to stay with Helen and Andy while we went on holiday. We have not had good experiences with them going into kennels but from our very first meeting with Helen and Andy when the dogs didn’t want to leave, we just knew we’d found the right place for them! We returned to two very happy, relaxed and contented dogs. I think they may have had a better time than we did! Thank you again, and we will definitely be in touch next time as we can now go away without worrying.
We had a great experience using PetStay – everything was straightforward and it was so comforting to know that our dog Chilli was having a lovely holiday of his own while we were away. Anne and her family did a wonderful job of looking after him, and the photo updates were very welcome.
We needed a sitter at short notice and Tracy came up trumps and found us a lovely sitter by the name of Jane first class service would highly recommend thanks again
‘We collected Finley after his stay with Helen & Andy and we were so pleased with the way they had cared for Finley. It was our rescue dogs first time away from us for a long period. He looked totally at home with Helen & Andy and had been very well looked after. They were amazing with Finley.’
Paul & Jane
“Tracy at PetStay York went out of her way to match my dog with the right couple to look after her overnight whilst we attended a wedding. She also arranged a pre visit to meet them and allay any fears about leaving her with people that we did not know.
The sitters were local which took away the stress of extra travelling when you’re trying to get away on holiday etc.
Special thanks to Brenda and Ray who gave all the care and love my 5 month old Labradoidle needed on her first stay away from us.ll be free next time we book a holiday. Thank you PetStay! The Shaw Family”
“We have used PetStay three times now, and each time our beloved Baxter has stayed with different people. Every time I have been impressed with the excellent service and so happy with the loving environments Baxter has stayed in. Baxter has stayed with Brenda and Ray in York these past few weeks, and they were wonderful! Baxter, although happy to be home, is clearly missing his new friends. They’ve obviously looked after him fantastically and we hope that they will be free next time we book a holiday. Thank you PetStay! The Shaw Family”
The Shaw Family
“Boushka my pug cross stayed with Brenda and Ray while I was away. They sent photos of her and it was obvious she was a happy little dog. I would certainly leave her in their care again. ”
We used PetStay for the very first time in May and our beloved Cocker Spaniel Louie stayed with Chris, Fiona and their daughter. We had been very apprehensive about leaving Louie after having had a very bad experience with a kennel that had left him with separation anxiety for months after he returned to us. Fiona let me know whilst we are away that he had settled in well which calmed my anxiety and my son and daughter picked him up as planned. Chris and Fiona were visibly upset to see him leave which assured me that he had been well cared for and that they had thought a lot about him. He has settled back at home fantastically well and I would not hesitate in sending him back there for any future holidays with complete faith that he would be extremely well looked after. Thank you Chris and Fiona for looking after our prized pooch.
Steve gave Ziggy, our 16 year old Bichon, a very warm welcome when we dropped her off. He was very professional in asking all the relevant questions about vaccinations, care and any special or specific needs. We could tell that both Steve and Shirley were very kind and thoughtful carers who put our minds at rest and thoroughly enjoyed looking after Ziggy for us. It was a joy to see how well Ziggy was on our return.
We would have absolutely no hesitation in using Steve and Shirley again, or recommending them to anyone else who would need to have their dog looked after, it was just like home from home.
Once again, our thanks to Steve and Shirley
Pam & Bryan
We left our labrador for a week with a lovely carer who made him feel very settled and happy. Would recommend to anyone who wouldn’t dream of using a boarding kennel but needs to leave their dog while on holiday.
My 5 month old cockerpoo stayed with Tracy and I found her to be really professional and caring. She is hugely knowledgeable of dogs and really wanted to ensure my pet got the best care possible and her routines were continued. She has a lovely big garden too which was a plus and the house is set up with a stair gate at the front door for extra safety. We’ll definitely be going back to PetStay in the future.
Millie & Pip
Helen and Andy at PetStay looked after my dogs, Pip and Millie, for a few days. They gave them a lot of love and attention and sent me a text saying the dogs were ok. I would recommend PetStay as a good alternative to kennels.
I would like to thank Tracy and Chris from York PetStay for arranging and having our “baby” bulldog during our holiday. It was first time we used their services and definitely not the last one!
My little rescue dog Boushka stayed for 4 days with Alison and John. She was very well cared for, a real home from home. It was the first time I’d left Boushka with anyone other then family and I’d have no hesitation of leaving Boushka again with Alison and John. I was sent photos of Boushka while I was away to put my mind at ease and although Boushka was pleased to see me on my return it was obvious she had been well looked after.
My border terrier, Lottie who is 10 months old, has just spent 12 nights with Tracy from PetStay. I was put at ease straight away with a message to say Lottie was settling okay and a picture too. I was kept informed on Lottie whilst I was on holiday and felt relaxed knowing that I had left her in good care. Lottie must have enjoyed herself as she came home just the same as she went…a happy little dog (and a little more well behaved, thank you Tracy).
‘Moss had a great holiday with Tracy in York. Tracy took on board all Moss’s likes and dislikes and slightly neurotic tendencies. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending PetStay and hope to book in with Tracy again in the future.’
Our little girl Jess had a bad start in life and in the five years we have had her have never wanted to go away without her. Our friends treated us to a holiday in Portugal and the thought of leaving her in kennels was not appealing. So when our vet suggested Pet stay I rang Tracy and liked her immediately. We visited her with Jess and she could not have been nicer talking thru our dogs daily routine and I felt very reassured. Tracy kindly kept me updated with texts while we were away . Collecting Jess today you could see that she had been well cared for and was a very happy little dog. I will not hesitate to use Pet stay again
Daisy & Bella
Picked up two very happy puppies from Steve and Shirley in York. Although Bella and Daisy were pleased to see us it was obvious they were very well cared for and pampered during their holiday. They’ll be looking forward to their next stay in April – think Steve looking forward to it too which is lovely.
Our dog sitter Carol agreed at quite short notice to take our dog over Christmas. She was warm and welcoming and made a great fuss of our dog. She followed our instructions to the letter and even sent us photos of our dog having a wonderful time. Although the cost was double over the bank holidays it was worth every penny to know he was so well cared for.
Honey loved staying with Cat and her family and I’m sure she was spoilt!! Never left Honey before with anybody so new experience for us all and it was very reassuring that PetStay could offer her a lovely family which made us feel more relaxed about leaving her.
Will be using this service again in the future.
Our young dog had never been left with anyone else as I work part time so there’s not really a need. Being his first stay elsewhere we were apprehensive but on meeting our carers, John and Francis, immediately that changed. They were really a home from home for him. The very next day and he has settled back in at home which we credit to how easy they made the process. We wouldn’t hesitate to use Pet Stay again and to recommend to others. In fact we already have! Our friends in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire are gutted there’s no local branch for them to use too.
We felt at ease while we were away in the knowledge that Zippy was being well looked after in a lovely home environment by Brenda & Ken. What a lovely couple they are – you couldn’t wish to meet a nicer couple in my opinion.
Zippy has come home absolutely fine, straight back into routine and he looks very well after his week away! I’m sure if he could speak he would say he’s had a lovely time with Brenda & Ken! They only had good comments about him which was a relief and nice to hear.
So yes we are all extremely happy with the service from Petstay from beginning to end, we will use you again I’m sure (we would want Brenda & Ken again of course!) and I would highly recommend your services.
Diane & Leon, Selby, July 2016
Just wanted to let you know how pleased my husband and I were when we collected Phoebe yesterday. It was the first time using your service and what a wonderful one it was. From the booking to meeting her carers nothing was too much trouble. It was wonderful to get updates whilst we were away which really helped put our minds at rest. When we picked Phoebe up she couldn’t have been more relaxed and we will definitely be using you again ?
Joanna, Selby, July 2016
I’m really pleased with the service we received from Petstay. Helen and Andy were wonderful and Lucy loved them! I hadn’t left her with anyone before so was a bit nervous but they really set my mind at ease. They are obviously dog lovers and took great care of Lucy. I wouldn’t hesitate to use PetStay again and I’d definitely recommend the service.
Chantal, York, July 2016
Milo & Pippa
I’m sure Milo and Pippa had a lovely time with Carol, who made us feel welcome from our very first meeting.
I think Carol had her hands full with them being terriers and she handled them very well.
Carol sent us pictures showing the dogs enjoying themselves which was very reassuring.
I will certainly use your service again in the future and recommend you to family and friends.
Sandra, Selby, June 2016
Charlie had a fantastic time staying with Jill and her husband and there’s nothing I’d change about your service.
I was really worried about leaving him as it’s the first time he’s stayed with anyone other than my parents. Right from the first meeting Jill reassured me and I could see he would be settled and well looked after. When I went to pick him up it was clear he’d had a great week and Jill said she loved looking after him.
I’m just so glad I’ve found someone I can trust to look after Charlie and next time I go away I’ll be much more relaxed knowing he’s in safe hands. Thanks for finding the perfect family to look after him and thanks Jill for taking such good care of him!
Rachel, Leeds, April 2016
We were very pleased with the service we received from PetStay right from the friendly initial enquiry stage and our first meeting with the carer. We appreciated being able to leave Pippin for a trial night before we left her for her first week away from home, especially as she was only 10 months old. We felt sure she would be well cared for by Catherine and her family. She was able to make herself very much at home and clearly enjoyed all the attention that they were able to give her. We also loved receiving the email updates and photographs that Catherine sent to us whilst we were away. We could see that Pippin was happy, relaxed and having fun!
We would highly recommend PetStay and hope that Pippin can stay with Catherine again in the future.
Lynn, Leeds, April 2016
We were completely happy with the Petstay service. Catherine and her family are absolutely lovely and looked after Ziggy brilliantly. I can tell he had a great time and had made himself totally at home. Catherine emailed us some lovely photos while we were away. We would definitely be very happy to leave Ziggy in their care anytime.
Thank you so much Cat!
Anne, York, March 2016
We were very happy leaving Ozzie with Catherine and she sent us a couple of texts while we were away to let us know how he was and what he was doing. She also took some lovely photos of him, which certainly showed how happy and content he was. Our only concern was that he may not want to come home with us after having such a good week!! We would certainly have no hesitation in recommending Catherine and PetStay and would definitely leave Ozzie with Catherine again.
Linda, York, March 2016
I was so happy with the care Tracy gave Benson as he is quite a character and more like a baby than a dog! He is very fussy with his food and Tracy stuck with it until he ate his food. Tracy also texted me every day which was great. I think he had 5 star treatment.
I would highly recommend Tracy and would definitely use her again through Petstay.
Thanks for providing a fantastic service.
Katie, York, December 2015
Ken and Brenda are an excellent couple that you can tell just love dogs. They gave Roxy (our Jack Russell) a very warm welcome and a home for a few days. When we picked Roxy up I’m sure she was more interested in staying, or it just might be the fact she knew she had a car journey home. The whole process with PetStay was very easy from initial enquiry, finding us a suitable dog sitter to payment and all communication was answered very very well. Would we use PetStay again…. Simple answer is, we would be stupid not to. Thank you PetStay and thank you Brenda and Ken and at least they have now found all the balls all the other dogs had buried previously before Roxy had arrived.
Mr & Mrs Mitchell, York, September 2015
I just wanted to let you know how well Susan looked after our furry friends.
When we met Susan on Thursday it was clear she was very calm and experienced and filled us with confidence.
As you know, we were going to an emotionally taxing event, so to feel comfortable about the dogs was a great boon.
When we went to collect them today they were happy and pleased to see us, but in no hurry to leave Susan’s.
She had clearly shown great patience with Paddy, as it took time for him to settle, and then he tunnelled in her bed and disturbed her sleep!
We wanted to say a very big thank you for introducing us, and our dogs, to such a special person.
Sarah, York, September 2015
Colin & Fergal
Just a few words to say how grateful I am to Helen and Andy for looking after Colin and Fergal so well. We had a relaxing holiday without worrying about the welfare of the dogs because we knew they were having their holiday too! It is such a great alternative to kennels!
Geraldine, York, July 2015
I would just like to thank you for all your help in securing Bertie a ‘home from home’ experience whilst we were on holiday for two weeks. Bertie is a very gentle and loving dog who doesn’t suit kennels, so when we were unable to find someone to care for him, you came to our rescue. From the outset you were diligent in finding the right carer for our Pointer and arranged a meeting so that we felt comfortable in where he would be staying. The carer was perfect and Bertie was happy and relaxed when we went to collect him. He had had such a brilliant time I think he wanted to stay! Thank you so much and I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending PetStay.
Fiona, York, June 2015
Just to say a big ‘thank you’ for finding me Brenda and Ken dog sitters. They were marvellous and I recommend them highly. Gemma loved her stay and received lots of attention and cuddles.
Gillian – York, June 2015
Just to let you know that Brenda and Ken were absolutely amazing. Diggerley adored them. Thank you so much for organising
I am so pleased with Petstay it was everything and more I could have hoped for. Amber was well cared for and exercised, and it would appear when I came in I was surplus to requirements! Patti and Amber had bonded so well.
I cannot thank you enough and we will be using your service in the future.
Margaret September 2014
Misty & Farley
Just a quick email with some feedback about my babies’ stay at Catherine’s. I was extremely happy with my dogs when we got back. They looked happy and healthy and I was extremely impressed with the fact that Catherine took my Farley to the vets as he was gnawing his paw a lot. She is an excellent carer and I would not hesitate to put my dogs with her again.
Pauline, September 2014
Thank you soooooooo much for sorting out the care of Bentley despite such a short notice. We had a great holiday and so did Bentley! Helen and Andrew were amazing with Bentley since the day we met them. During our holiday, Helen kept us updated via text message on how Bentley was settling in, which definitely reassured us.
Since I first contacted you, the whole process was very simple and straightforward. I would definitely rely on PetStay again to take care of Bentley next time we go away. We would definitely use PetStay again in preference to kennels.
Maria, August 2014
I was extremely satisfied with the service from you I don’t know how you could improve it. Cat and her family were lovely and made us feel very welcome, I would have no hesitation in leaving Tank in Cat’s care again she was very professional and caring and when we explained his health problems and anxieties she instinctively knew the best way to handle him. I can’t thank Cat and her family enough for giving us the peace of mind to enjoy our son’s wedding without having to worry that Tank was ok.
We just wanted to say how impressed we were with Cat, who looked after Daisy for us last week. She is very organised, caring and obviously loves dogs. We received daily e mails and photos which showed that Daisy was having a lovely time and was very happy. She is a credit to Petstay.
Martin & Sophie August 2014
It was the first time I’d gone away without Ozzy and I was a wreck leaving him. I felt so guilty leaving him with strangers but Helen and Andy were lovely, they texted to let me know Ozzy had settled well and when I returned to collect him he was clearly very happy. I can’t wait for my next holiday and I’m sure Ozzy will be absolutely thrilled to return to Helen and Andy.
Claire August 2014
Just to say thank you for all your help at PetStay and for finding a family to look after Amber while we were away. We had a great holiday and Amber seemed to be very happy staying with Catherine! Both she and her family were very caring and friendly and I think Amber was truly given lots of love and attention while there. Catherine emailed us every few days with updates while we were away and also sent photos of Amber which was really reassuring.
We were really impressed with the service Petstay provided from start to finish. Our initial enquiry was responded to very quickly and although at that time you didn’t have any availability, you very helpfully contacted me shortly thereafter to let me know you had some new carers available whom we visited along with Amber before finalising the booking. We were really relieved to know she would be staying with a family and not in kennels as she was just a puppy (age 6 months).
We would definitely use PetStay again in preference to kennels.
Thank you for putting me in touch with Tracy to look after Rosie yesterday. Our pet was very well cared for and she even ate her food which meant she was not at all stressed out in Tracy’s care. I have already passed on your details to a friend and will not hesitate to tell them and others what an excellent service you provide.
Jane Clark – July 2014
I decided to use PetStay as Alfie has never really enjoyed staying at kennels as he doesn’t like other dogs, especially all the noise of the barking and he doesn’t like being locked in. I can honestly say that the whole booking process was so easy and from the start was put at ease – also just to make sure that Alfie, and his carers were happy, we went to meet them before Alfie was booked to stay.
Andrew and Helen treated Alfie like their own dog and he was able to treat their home like his own. He seemed very happy and I think really enjoyed his stay.
I was extremely happy using PetStay and am already planning my next holiday and Alfie’s at PetStay!!
A big thank you to all and especially Helen and Andrew.
Caroline Archer – June 2014
We had a lovely few days away and so did Tink!
Thank you so much for setting us up with her ‘extra family’. She was more than happy there and we felt that she was safe and spoilt at all times! We had daily contact with them and received updates on how she was doing.
We would not hesitate to place her with her ‘extra family’ at any time or recommend Petstay. It’s an invaluable service for anyone who wants their pet to stay in a safe and loved environment.
We found the thought of leaving Maggie, our Border Terrier, really difficult when going on holiday. We looked at kennels but didn’t feel comfortable in leaving her in such a different environment. We decided to look at Petstay and that’s where we met Sally and Garrod. Sally and Garrod have been exceptional. They have made sure Maggie’s every whim is catered for: from giving her porridge in the morning, to ensuring that she has at least an hours exercise each day. Not only that, they have sent us regular e-mails and pictures to keep us up to date with how she’s getting on.
I now no longer worry about leaving her when we’re away. I know she is happy – the tell-tale sign is her tail wagging as she arrives, which makes the whole process easy for us. They are fantastic!
It’s always a worry leaving your family pet when you go away so I was delighted when we found a “Home from Home” for Bruno, our 10 year old Italian Spinone.
Sally & Garrod were keen to understand what he enjoyed and clearly had a lot of experience of caring for dogs. They requested relevant contact numbers, including our vet, and made me feel confident that he was in good hands.
Bruno really took to them and has now been to stay on several occasions. He is always pleased to see them – and happy for me to go! When I collect him he is calm and relaxed and I can tell by the tales Garrod tells that he has had a great time.I therefore have no hesitation in recommending Sally & Garrod Cooper to care for your dog!
It will be the fourth year that Daisy has stayed with carers Ken and Sue while we visit our son and family in South Africa. We can leave her behind with the confidence that the care she will receive is second to none. We know from past years that she enjoys her “holiday”, the way she greets Ken and Sue plus her first dash to the “treat cupboard” is a good testimony to this. We would never have been happy leaving Daisy in kennels and from our first meeting with her future careers our peace of mind was assured, we would wholeheartedly recommend PetStay to anyone looking for a kennel alternative.
Pat, York, North Yorkshire
Just to say a big thank you to yourself and Garrod for your help in organising Pepper somewhere to stay while we were away.I have no doubt at all that Pepper thoroughly enjoyed her holiday with Shelley and her family, and it was a massive relief for us to know that we were leaving her in safe hands.
Tarka & Casper
I just wanted to write to say how thankful we were for the PetStay facility which has allowed us to go to my son’s wedding/take a holiday in the USA knowing that our two dogs were so brilliantly looked after. You probably remember we booked Tarka and Casper for two short stays with Hilary for them to get used to her (and she them) followed by our longer trip. She did an absolutely wonderful job, especially as our dogs have various health issues. It made all the difference to us knowing that she was there looking after them so well in our absence.
Gill Clark, Harrogate
Just to let you know that Beau was very well looked after by Kathy, they have a lovely home and gardens, he even made friends with Oscar the parrot! They are a credit to Petstay, Beau was very happy with them and I think he is missing them. I would certainly take him again.
Thank you to Tracy Linfoot, York carer, who gave my elderly dog Sasha a first class holiday for the 11 days I was away. She is 14 years old, hard of hearing and her eyes are failing. When I collected her from Tracy’s home yesterday, Sasha looked happy and healthy. She had received the same attention she receives at home, and even a few extra treats! I will certainly be recommending Petstay to others. Thanks again.
We were so pleased with the way Patti had cared for Jake. In between booking the stay and Jake going to stay, he had been diagnosed with a mild form of dementia which is managed with medication. Patti was very understanding in the odd moment he was confused and was able to phone the person whose number I had left for some advice on one occasion. He was extremely well cared for and Patti said he was a ‘real gentleman’. I was so relieved to find such good care.
I am absolutely thrilled with the quality of care, love and attention Billy received during our week away. As I stated in my original email, I was really reluctant to leave Billy and very nearly didn’t go on holiday. However, even before we went Kathy and Mike were able to give us reassurance that it would be like home from home for Billy, and a holiday for him too, and it certainly was. I contacted them everyday and they readily told me all what Billy had been up to. They described to me lots of the little unique things that Billy does when he’s happy, excited or having his ‘crazy hour,’ and this really settled us as we knew Billy must be content to be behaving in the same way as he does at home. On picking Billy up, he had a shiny wet nose, a glossy coat, twinkly eyes and his usual boundless energy. I only had one remaining worry, would he want to come home with us!
