Here are the few simple stages of booking with PetStay.

1st: Ring or email your local branch to discuss your dogs requirements and dates.
2nd: We will explain all about PetStay and what your next steps would be.
3rd: We then take all details about your dog and then match them to the most suitable carer.
4th: A meeting will be organised for you and your dog to meet the carer.
5th: If you are 100% happy with your carer you would then be ready to book with PetStay.
6th: No later than 5 days after your initial meeting, complete our on-line booking form and pay the arrangement fee.
7th: An email confirmation will be sent to you.
8th: You’re all booked in and don’t have to worry about anything.
9th: Drop your dog off at the carer’s home with food, a bed, toys, and anything else you think they might need.
10th: Go away with complete peace of mind and have a wonderful holiday.

*PetStay Arrangement Fee

Our daily rate is made up of the Arrangement Fee and the Carer’s Allowance.  These are 2 separate payments.  The Arrangement Fee is a payment to arrange and confirm the booking of your dog’s stay, and is due for payment within 5 days of meeting your dog carer.  For a repeat booking the Arrangement Fee is payable within 5 days of your requested dates being confirmed by PetStay.

The Arrangement Fee is non-refundable or non- transferable

The Arrangement Fee is for the service provided by your local PetStay branch in selecting a suitably matched dog carer for you and your dog.  The Arrangement Fee also represents a proportion of all the administration and ongoing business costs, including but not limited to, Public Liability and Employer Liability insurance, licensing, recruitment of carers, advertising, 24/7 support to carers, and business documentation giving you peace of mind and your dog a quality home dog boarding experience with PetStay.

The Dog Carer’s Allowance

The Carer’s Allowance is paid direct to the dog carer when you drop your dog off.

We knew our dog wouldn’t cope well in a kennel when we go away, so were keen to find somewhere that felt like a home away from home for him, and with someone we felt we could really trust. Linking up with our local PetStay sitter has given us all just that. We were matched with someone who could offer the environment perfectly suited to our dog’s needs, and were really reassured in having a commitment-free initial meet-up in the sitter’s house to introduce everyone and get a sense for it it was a good match. It was, and our sitter is now someone we feel confident and happy to come back to regularly, and has become like a friend to us (as well as our dog – who drags us right to her front door every time we’re in the area!) PetStay is a little pricier than some other options we looked at, but we think it’s totally worth it for all the reassurances it offers. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

We have used PetStay several times over the last 3 years and it has been great. Being able to meet the carers in advance and choose people who you are comfortable leaving your dog with who you know are vetted is really reassuring. The carers have been lovely, providing lots of updates and photos during each stay and our Cockapoo Poppy is always happy to see them when we go back. The real selling point for us was that it is an alternative to kennels which our dog would not enjoy. Being in a family home is a much nicer experience for us and for her. Highly recommend.

Roxy stayed with Denise in Micklefield in July. Roxy is usually looked after by my parents when we go on holiday but this time they were not available. Our dog Phoebe is not the easiest pet to look after for many reasons but John always listens to any concerns and acts accordingly. We have been using Petstay for some time now, our six year old terrier stays with two families in North Yorkshire and the care from both is outstanding, they obviously love having Barney to stay. It’s easy to see that Barney loves both sets of carers and becomes very excited when he realises where he’s going. Tracy, our local manager, is super-efficient in arranging stays, if our two regulars are unavailable, she has always been able to offer other carers. Five stars isn’t really enough for this service.

At 15 with sight and hearing issues Pippin wasn’t a straightforward dog. However, Helen and Andy were caring and adaptable, especially when, after barking downstairs during his first night with them, he was allowed to sleep by their bed. In addition, they coped with applying antibiotic cream to his eyes, which had only been prescribed the previous day. I would recommend PetStay as an excellent alternative to kennels any day.

Tracy at PetStay was very helpful in finding a couple who were happy to have our elderly dog who has epilepsy and is on quite a bit of medication. We met them before with Buddy discussed his routine, medication etc, it was all very reassuring.

The initial meeting with Katie was arranged very quickly and we had plenty of time to introduce our dog Holly and to discuss all the arrangements. Right from their taster night stopover, it was obvious they had received lots of walks and cuddles. We were going abroad over the Christmas period and it was only fair that Kitsy our 12 year old Tibetan terrier would be left with a family as the kennels wasn’t an option for that length of time. We had been very apprehensive about leaving Louie after having had a very bad experience with a kennel that had left him with separation anxiety for months after he returned to us. He was very professional in asking all the relevant questions about vaccinations, care and any special or specific needs. Our little girl Jess had a bad start in life and in the five years we have had her have never wanted to go away without her. Our dog sitter Carol agreed at quite short notice to take our dog over Christmas. She was warm and welcoming and made a great fuss of our dog. She followed our instructions to the letter and even sent us photos of our dog having a wonderful time. Our young dog had never been left with anyone else as I work part time so there’s not really a need. Being his first stay elsewhere we were apprehensive but on meeting our carers, John and Francis, immediately that changed. They were really a home from home for him. Zippy has come home absolutely fine, straight back into routine and he looks very well after his week away! I’m sure if he could speak he would say he’s had a lovely time with Brenda & Ken! They only had good comments about him which was a relief and nice to hear.

I’m sure Milo and Pippa had a lovely time with Carol, who made us feel welcome from our very first meeting.
I think Carol had her hands full with them being terriers and she handled them very well.
Carol sent us pictures showing the dogs enjoying themselves which was very reassuring.

Charlie had a fantastic time staying with Jill and her husband and there’s nothing I’d change about your service.

I was really worried about leaving him as it’s the first time he’s stayed with anyone other than my parents. Right from the first meeting Jill reassured me and I could see he would be settled and well looked after. When I went to pick him up it was clear he’d had a great week and Jill said she loved looking after him.

I’m just so glad I’ve found someone I can trust to look after Charlie and next time I go away I’ll be much more relaxed knowing he’s in safe hands. Thanks for finding the perfect family to look after him and thanks Jill for taking such good care of him!

We were very pleased with the service we received from PetStay right from the friendly initial enquiry stage and our first meeting with the carer. We appreciated being able to leave Pippin for a trial night before we left her for her first week away from home, especially as she was only 10 months old. We felt sure she would be well cared for by Catherine and her family. She was able to make herself very much at home and clearly enjoyed all the attention that they were able to give her. We also loved receiving the email updates and photographs that Catherine sent to us whilst we were away. We could see that Pippin was happy, relaxed and having fun!
We would highly recommend PetStay and hope that Pippin can stay with Catherine again in the future.

We were very happy leaving Ozzie with Catherine and she sent us a couple of texts while we were away to let us know how he was and what he was doing. I was so happy with the care Tracy gave Benson as he is quite a character and more like a baby than a dog! He is very fussy with his food and Tracy stuck with it until he ate his food. Tracy also texted me every day which was great. I think he had 5 star treatment.

Ken and Brenda are an excellent couple that you can tell just love dogs. They gave Roxy (our Jack Russell) a very warm welcome and a home for a few days. When we picked Roxy up I’m sure she was more interested in staying, or it just might be the fact she knew she had a car journey home. The whole process with PetStay was very easy from initial enquiry, finding us a suitable dog sitter to payment and all communication was answered very very well. Would we use PetStay again…. Simple answer is, we would be stupid not to. Thank you PetStay and thank you Brenda and Ken and at least they have now found all the balls all the other dogs had buried previously before Roxy had arrived.

I just wanted to let you know how well Susan looked after our furry friends.
When we met Susan on Thursday it was clear she was very calm and experienced and filled us with confidence.
As you know, we were going to an emotionally taxing event, so to feel comfortable about the dogs was a great boon.
When we went to collect them today they were happy and pleased to see us, but in no hurry to leave Susan’s.
She had clearly shown great patience with Paddy, as it took time for him to settle, and then he tunnelled in her bed and disturbed her sleep!

I would just like to thank you for all your help in securing Bertie a ‘home from home’ experience whilst we were on holiday for two weeks. Bertie is a very gentle and loving dog who doesn’t suit kennels, so when we were unable to find someone to care for him, you came to our rescue. From the outset you were diligent in finding the right carer for our Pointer and arranged a meeting so that we felt comfortable in where he would be staying. The carer was perfect and Bertie was happy and relaxed when we went to collect him. He had had such a brilliant time I think he wanted to stay! Thank you soooooooo much for sorting out the care of Bentley despite such a short notice. We had a great holiday and so did Bentley! Just to say thank you for all your help at PetStay and for finding a family to look after Amber while we were away. We had a great holiday and Amber seemed to be very happy staying with Catherine! Both she and her family were very caring and friendly and I think Amber was truly given lots of love and attention while there. Catherine emailed us every few days with updates while we were away and also sent photos of Amber which was really reassuring.

We were really impressed with the service Petstay provided from start to finish. Our initial enquiry was responded to very quickly and although at that time you didn’t have any availability, you very helpfully contacted me shortly thereafter to let me know you had some new carers available whom we visited along with Amber before finalising the booking. We were really relieved to know she would be staying with a family and not in kennels as she was just a puppy (age 6 months).

We would definitely use PetStay again in preference to kennels.

Thank you for putting me in touch with Tracy to look after Rosie yesterday. Our pet was very well cared for and she even ate her food which meant she was not at all stressed out in Tracy’s care. I decided to use PetStay as Alfie has never really enjoyed staying at kennels as he doesn’t like other dogs, especially all the noise of the barking and he doesn’t like being locked in. I can honestly say that the whole booking process was so easy and from the start was put at ease – also just to make sure that Alfie, and his carers were happy, we went to meet them before Alfie was booked to stay.

Andrew and Helen treated Alfie like their own dog and he was able to treat their home like his own. He seemed very happy and I think really enjoyed his stay.

I was extremely happy using PetStay and am already planning my next holiday and Alfie’s at PetStay!!

We had a lovely few days away and so did Tink!

Thank you so much for setting us up with her ‘extra family’. She was more than happy there and we felt that she was safe and spoilt at all times! We had daily contact with them and received updates on how she was doing.

We would not hesitate to place her with her ‘extra family’ at any time or recommend Petstay. It’s an invaluable service for anyone who wants their pet to stay in a safe and loved environment.

We found the thought of leaving Maggie, our Border Terrier, really difficult when going on holiday. We looked at kennels but didn’t feel comfortable in leaving her in such a different environment. We decided to look at Petstay and that’s where we met Sally and Garrod. Sally and Garrod have been exceptional. They have made sure Maggie’s every whim is catered for: from giving her porridge in the morning, to ensuring that she has at least an hours exercise each day. Not only that, they have sent us regular e-mails and pictures to keep us up to date with how she’s getting on.

I now no longer worry about leaving her when we’re away. I know she is happy – the tell-tale sign is her tail wagging as she arrives, which makes the whole process easy for us. They are fantastic!

It’s always a worry leaving your family pet when you go away so I was delighted when we found a “Home from Home” for Bruno, our 10 year old Italian Spinone.

Sally & Garrod were keen to understand what he enjoyed and clearly had a lot of experience of caring for dogs. They requested relevant contact numbers, including our vet, and made me feel confident that he was in good hands.

Bruno really took to them and has now been to stay on several occasions. He is always pleased to see them – and happy for me to go! When I collect him he is calm and relaxed and I can tell by the tales Garrod tells that he has had a great time.I therefore have no hesitation in recommending Sally & Garrod Cooper to care for your dog!

It will be the fourth year that Daisy has stayed with carers Ken and Sue while we visit our son and family in South Africa. We can leave her behind with the confidence that the care she will receive is second to none. I just wanted to write to say how thankful we were for the PetStay facility which has allowed us to go to my son’s wedding/take a holiday in the USA knowing that our two dogs were so brilliantly looked after. You probably remember we booked Tarka and Casper for two short stays with Hilary for them to get used to her (and she them) followed by our longer trip. She did an absolutely wonderful job, especially as our dogs have various health issues. It made all the difference to us knowing that she was there looking after them so well in our absence.

When I collected her from Tracy’s home yesterday, Sasha looked happy and healthy. She had received the same attention she receives at home, and even a few extra treats! I will certainly be recommending Petstay to others. Thanks again.

We were so pleased with the way Patti had cared for Jake. In between booking the stay and Jake going to stay, he had been diagnosed with a mild form of dementia which is managed with medication. Patti was very understanding in the odd moment he was confused and was able to phone the person whose number I had left for some advice on one occasion. He was extremely well cared for and Patti said he was a ‘real gentleman’. I was so relieved to find such good care.

I am absolutely thrilled with the quality of care, love and attention Billy received during our week away. As I stated in my original email, I was really reluctant to leave Billy and very nearly didn’t go on holiday. However, even before we went Kathy and Mike were able to give us reassurance that it would be like home from home for Billy, and a holiday for him too, and it certainly was. I contacted them everyday and they readily told me all what Billy had been up to. They described to me lots of the little unique things that Billy does when he’s happy, excited or having his ‘crazy hour,’ and this really settled us as we knew Billy must be content to be behaving in the same way as he does at home. On picking Billy up, he had a shiny wet nose, a glossy coat, twinkly eyes and his usual boundless energy. I only had one remaining worry, would he want to come home with us!

When a dog comes to me I love and care for it like my own. My innate ability to read a dog’s temperament helps them settle quickly. I fill their days with fun but follow their usual home routine. And send them home happy.
