With PetStay, you can enjoy your time away knowing your furry friend is safe, happy, and being cared for like family.
All our carers love dogs and are experienced dog owners who provide the best care for your pet while you’re away. Each carer is personally interviewed by PetStay to ensure they offer a safe, loving, and comfortable home environment for your dog. We are fully licensed, and our carers are covered by our public liability insurance for your peace of mind.
Some of our carers may have a dog of their own. If your pooch is happy to stay with another friendly dog, we’ll arrange a meet-up so they can get acquainted and see if they’re a good match.

We’re proud to offer our trusted PetStay service in your city, providing local, personalised dog care that ensures your pet feels right at home. With a dedicated PetStay branch in your area, you can enjoy peace of mind knowing your dog will receive the best care from experienced, fully vetted carers who are part of your local community.
Our daily rate is made up of two separate payments: the Arrangement Fee and the Carer’s Allowance. Together, these payments cover the full cost of your dog’s stay, ensuring they receive loving care in a safe and happy home.
Prices listed are per day (or part thereof), except for Bank Holidays, when the Carer’s Allowance is doubled — because we believe our wonderful carers deserve extra for their dedication during these special times!
The Arrangement Fee secures your dog’s booking and is due within five days of meeting your chosen carer. For repeat bookings, this fee must be paid within five days of your requested dates being confirmed by PetStay.
This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, as it covers the service provided by your local PetStay branch in carefully matching your dog with a suitable carer. It also contributes to essential operational costs, including:
The Carer’s Allowance is a separate payment, made directly to your chosen carer when you drop your dog off for their holiday. On Bank Holidays, this allowance is doubled, reflecting the extra commitment and care our carers provide during these times.
Together, the Arrangement Fee and the Carer’s Allowance make up the full daily rate for your dog’s stay.
For more details on Bank Holiday rates or any other inquiries, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

You must be a genuine dog lover, have experience of looking after dogs and you need to be home during the day so you have plenty of time to give to the dogs you are caring for. You must have a secure garden and agree to abide by PetStay guidelines. You are allowed to have a dog of your own as long as your dog gets on with other dogs.
If you meet all the requirements listed above, we will come and visit you at your home. We will check the security of the garden, explain PetStay procedures and show you the guidelines each carer needs to follow. If you are happy with everything and we feel you would make a suitable PetStay carer, we would follow up a reference and arrange public liability insurance for you.
Our service is on a one-to-one basis, so only dogs from the same household will stay with you. You are allowed to take up to three dogs from the same household, BUT you choose what you are happy with. We will ask you how many dogs you would like to look after and what sized dog/s you would be happy to care for.
No, the owner will bring any food or treats for the duration of the stay. Any toys, bedding, medication and leads will also be brought.
Yes each dog MUST have up to date vaccinations, have been wormed and treated for fleas. Proof of the vaccinations will be brought to the meeting and shown to you.
All dogs should be taken out each day for walks. When you have your meeting with the owners all routines, including the number and length of walks, will be discussed. The dog is only ever walked on a lead.
We/you would endeavour to contact the owner or the emergency contact. The owner or the emergency contact would be liable for any expenses incurred in taking the dog to the vet.
You will receive a daily allowance starting from £18 per day.
If you are interested in becoming a carer, please ring us for an informal chat and ask any questions or email us with your details and we will come back to you. You can also use the contact form on the ‘contact us’ tab. If we feel you are suitable we would then arrange to visit you at home.

We have been using PetStay and Jane for many years, both with our previous dog Wilma and now Jessie. Lynn and Ray look after Jessie as if she is their own. The service provided is five star! Jessie is happy and contented and enjoys her walks along the canal. Lynn sends us lots of up-dates and pictures of her stay. Jessie is always loved and cared for and I couldn’t recommend Jane and PetStay more highly
Judith
Our dogs had a great time with Pat and Geoff in Staffordshire. I felt more comfortable leaving them in a loving home rather than kennels and would highly recommend.
Mr Atkinson
Lily our 10 year old Snoodle had a wonderful time with Judy, we were sent photos and updates whilst away which was a great relief to know she was being well looked after and seemed very content, will defo use this service again.
Chris
We were happy that Millie was staying with Neil & Sue after her trial stay went well a few weeks before. When we arrived at their home Millie’s tail started to wag and she seemed excited about going into the house and staying with them, which put our minds at rest as we were leaving her for three weeks. On our return Neil & Sue said she had been fine and enjoyed her routine including her daily walks. So pleased to leave her in a home environment with such lovely caring people. Will definitely not have to worry when leaving her in August. Can’t thank you, Neil & Sue enough.
Julie & Ian
Kay & I are so very happy we found PetStay and Pat & Geoff. Marnie absolutely adores staying with them and it is very clear they love Marnie too. We are so lucky to have such wonderful carers for Marnie and, for her, it is like her own holiday. Kay & I can completely relax knowing Marnie is having 5 star attention with P & G. They are such lovely people, we are massively pleased with all the arrangements.

Our 2 dealings with PetStay ( North Staffordshire) have been extremely professional from start to finish. Jane managed to find the same carer for our 2 dogs which was very reassuring. The level of detail required from the start of the process is very thorough and we felt very confident that all would be done to ensure our dogs were well looked after, which indeed they were. Sue and her family were very welcoming and looked after our dogs as though they were their own. Sue sent texts and photos when we were away to reassure us that the dogs were happy. She was very understanding with our younger, very nervous dog who was obviously very much at ease with the family. The trial visit is an excellent idea for both carer and owner. Thank you Jane and Sue and family for your care and concern.
Judy
I can’t say enough about Rosie, Adrian and their lovely daughter Aoife, who cared for Splitz whilst I was on holiday. He is an aged dog of 16 years, who is almost blind so needs lots of TLC. He went for lovely walks and I know he had lots of attention. I have no hesitation in letting him be cared for again in their lovely home.
Sarah
We cannot say how happy we are to have chosen PetStay for Connie Judy was amazing. Connie was so looked after and spoilt we will never let Connie stay anywhere else. PetStay for your pet is the best care a pet could ask for thank you so much.
Cath and Nick
Chris and Bob were lovely, they looked after Curtis like he was their own pet. They gave him lots of love, walks and treats and provided a warm, safe environment for him which gave me a great peace of mind. Jane was very prompt and informative with all matters regarding availability and processes. I would recommend PetStay and use their service again.
Denise
Thanks again Jane for finding us such a lovely couple, Sarah and Glyn, to look after Bruno – he had a great time with them. Look forward to booking with you again soon.
Christine and Sam
Chase and Tommy had a fabulous holiday with Auntie Lisa at her house. They were spoiled, it was a real home from home. We even had texts to say they were settled and that they were all snuggled on the sofa. I would highly recommend… FANTASTIC.
Janice
It was our first time leaving Rufus with carers whilst we went on holiday for a week. After a meet and greet with Glyn and Sarah we knew he would be well looked after. Rufus had a great time – he went on lots of walks, they were happy to keep us up to date with how he was getting on and he came back to us a happy doggy! Just want to say thanks and we would be very happy to use PetStay again.
Melissa and Steve
I have complete confidence when Ollie goes to Teresa & Andy. They are lovely people & care for Ollie so well. Each time he stays with them he remembers them & they get a big greeting from him. He obviously loves staying with Teresa & Andy & is completely safe & secure in their house & garden. I am so grateful to them for all their help.
Pamela
Teddy had a wonderful stay with Judy and Mike. Their house really was a home from home for him while we were away. They really cared for him which meant that we could enjoy a worry-free mini-break. Teddy is looking forward to returning to his holiday home in 6 weeks’ time! Many thanks for organising it all for us.
Helen & Ian
This was the first time we had used PetStay and [were] naturally a bit apprehensive. Judy and Mike were lovely, we had a prior meeting with Poppy. Judy immediately played with her and Poppy just started to play and we knew then that she would be happy there. We were updated with lovely photos and she looked happy and we wondered if she would want to come home!! We will use PetStay again in the future.
Suzanne
It was Molly and Coco first time away from home and we were a little apprehensive but we needn’t have been they had a great time with Judy and Mike, they settled quickly and seemed very happy. Judy kept in touch with us by email with updates on how they were and stories of the funny things they were doing, she also sent photos. Very good service would recommend PetStay. And a big thank you to Judy and Mike for enabling us to have a great holiday.
Sue
Honey
Thanks so much for helping us out at such short notice. So professional and supportive from the first contact. Matched up with a perfect sitter and we felt at ease from the first moment. Honey had a great week and we loved that it was like ‘home from home’. Looking forward to next time! Thanks again.
Su
Pat & Geoff were a credit to your company. It was their first time to have a dog to stay and they both wanted to get everything right! [At the Meet & Greet] they gave me the time to explain what makes Charlie ‘tick’ and I felt they really knew him. I left Charlie with them feeling very confident that he would settle and have a good time. As requested Pat sent me some updates while I was on holiday which was much appreciated. I would not hesitate to use Pat & Geoff again.
Christine
I am so happy leaving Barney & Scally with my pet carer Sue. She looks after them very well and they do what they would do at home, which pleases me.
I get pictures, which is nice, and I just don’t worry about them. But it’s lovely to get them back!
Judy
This was our first time using PetStay. Roxie our much-loved boxer stayed with Lynne and Ray and was so well cared for we don’t think she wanted to come home as she wouldn’t get out of the car when we pulled up at home. We would not hesitate to recommend Lynne and Ray to anyone thank you again.
