Did you watch it? Britain’s Favourite Dogs aired on Wednesday night on ITV with presenters Sara Cox and Ben Fogle. The show recognised 217 breeds in the search to find Britain’s favourite dog.

Britain’s Favourite Dogs surveyed 10,000 members of the public to find out which dog is the nation’s favourite breed. The two hour special found that the Staffordshire Bull Terrier was the UK’s top dog, knocking Labradors off the top spot.

In fact, Labradors slipped down to the third spot after being the UK’s most popular dog breed for over a decade with the Kennel Club.

  5. Cocker Spaniel
