Our daily rate is made up of two separate payments: the Arrangement Fee and the Carer’s Allowance. Together, these payments cover the full cost of your dog’s stay, ensuring they receive loving care in a safe and happy home.
Prices listed are per day (or part thereof), except for Bank Holidays, when the Carer’s Allowance is doubled — because we believe our wonderful carers deserve extra for their dedication during these special times!
The Arrangement Fee secures your dog’s booking and is due within five days of meeting your chosen carer. For repeat bookings, this fee must be paid within five days of your requested dates being confirmed by PetStay.
This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, as it covers the service provided by your local PetStay branch in carefully matching your dog with a suitable carer. It also contributes to essential operational costs, including:
The Carer’s Allowance is a separate payment, made directly to your chosen carer when you drop your dog off for their holiday. On Bank Holidays, this allowance is doubled, reflecting the extra commitment and care our carers provide during these times.
Together, the Arrangement Fee and the Carer’s Allowance make up the full daily rate for your dog’s stay.

You must be a genuine dog lover, have experience of looking after dogs and you need to be home during the day so you have plenty of time to give to the dogs you are caring for. You must have a secure garden and agree to abide by PetStay guidelines. You are allowed to have a dog of your own as long as your dog gets on with other dogs.
If you meet all the requirements listed above, we will come and visit you at your home. We will check the security of the garden, explain PetStay procedures and show you the guidelines each carer needs to follow. If you are happy with everything and we feel you would make a suitable PetStay carer, we would follow up a reference and arrange public liability insurance for you.
Our service is on a one-to-one basis, so only dogs from the same household will stay with you. You are allowed to take up to three dogs from the same household, BUT you choose what you are happy with. We will ask you how many dogs you would like to look after and what sized dog/s you would be happy to care for.
No, the owner will bring any food or treats for the duration of the stay. Any toys, bedding, medication and leads will also be brought.
Yes each dog MUST have up to date vaccinations, have been wormed and treated for fleas. Proof of the vaccinations will be brought to the meeting and shown to you.
All dogs should be taken out each day for walks. When you have your meeting with the owners all routines, including the number and length of walks, will be discussed. The dog is only ever walked on a lead.
We/you would endeavour to contact the owner or the emergency contact. The owner or the emergency contact would be liable for any expenses incurred in taking the dog to the vet.
You will receive a daily allowance starting from £19 per day.
If you are interested in becoming a carer, please ring us for an informal chat and ask any questions or email us with your details and we will come back to you. You can also use the contact form on the ‘contact us’ tab. If we feel you are suitable we would then arrange to visit you at home.

George & Christine’s house is now Ned’s second home. He absolutely loves staying with them. He is so happy to see them & they are equally happy to see him. We are just over the moon that we found this lovely couple to look after Ned.
Bev
As usual our dog had a brilliant stay with Karen. It is such a relief that don’t have to worry about your pet when on holiday, and also to get daily videos and photos
Nicholas
Alison and Roger looked after, Belle, when I went to London for 6 days recently. This is the second time Belle has stayed with them. She was very well looked after, it was her home from home. A lovely couple, obviously dog lovers. I’d highly recommend them and PetStay
Alison

They go above and beyond to ensure that any special needs your dog has are met, so he/she has a smashing holiday and so do you!
Frances and Peebles
Sidney had another lovely stay with Ismet and Chris. I couldn’t ask for a better couple to look after him .They treat him like one of the family. While he is there I get regular daily updates and pictures .He has a wonderful time at his second home. Ismet and Chris are just the best we are so glad we found them.

Lennie stayed with Colin, Kate and their greyhound Ollie for two weeks. It was the first time we had used PetStay. The idea of hobbyist dog carers vs “professional” dog carers really appealed to us having had a bad experience previously which resulted in a vet operation whilst we were thousands of miles away. A result of a change of dogs cared for on a daily basis had left our dog at risk. Something an initial visit obviously hadn’t tested.
We had no such concerns with this stay. Having been for a “sleepover” previously Lennie quickly settled in and got on really well with Ollie. Throughout our holiday we received photos and messages. Lennie, Colin, Kate & Ollie were enjoying themselves so we were able to relax and enjoy our holiday. Thanks to them and to PetStay. We would definitely do this again.
Debbie
Can recommend PetStay, and the carer for Poppy. Anne was amazing, Poppy had a wonderful time with Anne, she didn’t really want to come home, will use again.
Matthew
It was first time we had used PetStay. Our dog Storm who is storm thoroughly enjoyed staying with the lady he was paired with, she looked after him very well, took him for long walks, very contented dog, will use them again
Debbie
The process is clear and thorough and everything is checked and verified in advance. Mabel loves going to stay with Ismet and Chris and gets totally spoilt! It’s like a home from home and we are provided with re assurance while we are away with regular photos and updates.
Sallie-Anne
As always Sam received the warmest of welcomes from Ian and Caroline. He’s a highly anxious boy so the fact that he now gets excited when we drive up to their house says a lot. I’m 100% confident that Sam receives the same level of care when he’s on his holidays as we give him at home. This means that we can relax and enjoy our breaks.
Maggie
Daisy stayed with Alan and Kristina for 16 nights. Alan and Kristina were amazing they were very welcoming and did a great job of looking after Daisy, who came home a very happy dog. We will definitely re book and use them again thank you very much.
Susan
Mabel was very well cared for by Natalie and her husband, they took her for long walks and interacted with her at home and in the garden.
Instructions for her stay were easy to follow and we were happy with all the arrangements.
Janet
Jasper our Border Collie had a lovely stay with our PetStay host. Everything went to plan, information was given in good time and we would definitely use again if we need to. Jasper was well looked after and we were encouraged to check in on how he was doing and photos exchanged. A great service and we went on holiday relaxed knowing our boy was in good hands.
Jo
We were very happy to leave Suki with Leanne. She obviously loves dogs and understood that Suki can be highly strung. Leanne stayed with her all the time we were away and Suki was obviously content with her. We will always use PetStay, the staff are always friendly and helpful and Suki has always come home happy.
Anne
Ozzie has stayed with Alan and Kristina a number of times now and he really loves them. I always feel happy and confident when I leave him and I know they take great care of him. PetStay is a fantastic, caring company and I would recommend them to anyone.
Linda
Ruby has just had another lovely stay with Tracey and Brian. They take such good care of her and she has a great time with them, they treat her as if she was their own. We get lots of updates and photos of all the things she is doing and she always comes back very happy.
Hilary and Steve
Willow (dog) loves going to stay with John and Francis. We are always at ease that she really get spoilt and looked after to a high standard. They really are a lovely couple.
Janet
I can’t believe just how marvellous PetStay is. I wish I’d know about this years ago. From talking & messaging Katie, who explained everything & her putting us in touch with the wonderful carers George & Christine everything has been perfect. Our little dog , Ned, was looked after so well. They are such a lovely couple , they treated Ned like their own. I’m so greatful & happy to have found the perfect holiday home from home for him.
Our gorgeous Labrador Buddy has been going on holiday to Tracy (Auntie Tracy’s) since he was a puppy and he’s now almost 8! Tracy is an absolute star and allows Buddy to treat her home as his. She sends updates daily, including details and photos of what he has been up to and she goes above and beyond to make sure he has an enjoyable stay. Buddy has a big personality and is very cheeky and Tracy loves him so much. We wouldn’t want him to spend his holiday with anyone else!
Jo
Karen was amazing. Buddy was so lucky to be matched with her. He had a great time and came back with some extra skills. Thank you to the whole team. It makes such a difference when you know your beloved pet is having a holiday of their own.
Jayne
What can I say, easy to organise and book. Benji is a strange one but settled well with Christine and Family so we never have any concerns, and he’s now been several times and wouldn’t hesitate to use again next time, Thankyou team PetStay.
