Welcome to PetStay East Lancs & Bury, your local home dog boarding provider.

I’m Linda Healey, welcome to PetStay East Lancs & Bury. My two friends are Lex and Zena, who used to be well cared for at Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary but who then found their forever home. Like Lex and Zena, most dogs would prefer to be in a home rather than a kennel. PetStay East Lancs & Bury has handpicked hosts who are home during the day and have secure, fenced gardens.

Why Choose PetStay?

At PetStay, we understand that leaving your beloved dog while you’re on holiday is a big decision. That’s why we offer a trusted, home-based alternative to kennels, ensuring your dog enjoys a comfortable stay in a loving environment. With one-on-one care and no mixing of dogs from different households, we provide a stress-free experience tailored to your dog’s needs.

What Makes Us Different?

Personalised, Home-from-Home Care – Your dog stays in a cozy, caring home, just like their own.
Solo Boarding Only – We never mix dogs from different families, ensuring a calm and relaxed stay.
Tailored Matching Process – We carefully select the perfect carer for your dog’s personality and routine.
Meet & Greet Before Booking – You and your dog get to visit the carer’s home beforehand to ensure a great fit.
Fully Insured & Licensed – Your peace of mind is our priority, with full insurance and licensing in place.
Ongoing Support – Our team is here to help, offering 24/7 support for both owners and carers.
With PetStay, you can enjoy your time away knowing your furry friend is safe, happy, and being cared for like family.

Our Carers

All our carers love dogs and are experienced dog owners who provide the best care for your pet while you’re away. Each carer is personally interviewed by PetStay to ensure they offer a safe, loving, and comfortable home environment for your dog. We are fully licensed, and our carers are covered by our public liability insurance for your peace of mind.

Some of our carers may have a dog of their own. If your pooch is happy to stay with another friendly dog, we’ll arrange a meet-up so they can get acquainted and see if they’re a good match

2 dogs £43.00 a day

3 dogs £59.00 a day

Prices above are per day, or part thereof, except Bank Holidays. For more information regarding those rates, please contact us.

PetStay Arrangement Fee & Carer’s Allowance

Our daily rate is made up of two separate payments: the Arrangement Fee and the Carer’s Allowance. Together, these payments cover the full cost of your dog’s stay, ensuring they receive loving care in a safe and happy home.

Prices listed are per day (or part thereof), except for Bank Holidays, when the Carer’s Allowance is doubled — because we believe our wonderful carers deserve extra for their dedication during these special times!

The Arrangement Fee secures your dog’s booking and is due within five days of meeting your chosen carer. For repeat bookings, this fee must be paid within five days of your requested dates being confirmed by PetStay.

This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, as it covers the service provided by your local PetStay branch in carefully matching your dog with a suitable carer. It also contributes to essential operational costs, including:

The Carer’s Allowance is a separate payment, made directly to your chosen carer when you drop your dog off for their holiday. On Bank Holidays, this allowance is doubled, reflecting the extra commitment and care our carers provide during these times.

Frequently Asked Questions about becoming a PetStay Carer

You must be a genuine dog lover, have experience of looking after dogs and you need to be home during the day so you have plenty of time to give to the dogs you are caring for. You must have a secure garden and agree to abide by PetStay guidelines. You are allowed to have a dog of your own as long as your dog gets on with other dogs.

If you meet all the requirements listed above, we will come and visit you at your home. We will check the security of the garden, explain PetStay procedures and show you the guidelines each carer needs to follow. If you are happy with everything and we feel you would make a suitable PetStay carer, we would follow up a reference and arrange public liability insurance for you.

Our service is on a one-to-one basis, so only dogs from the same household will stay with you. You are allowed to take up to three dogs from the same household, BUT you choose what you are happy with. We will ask you how many dogs you would like to look after and what sized dog/s you would be happy to care for.

No, the owner will bring any food or treats for the duration of the stay. Any toys, bedding, medication and leads will also be brought.

Yes each dog MUST have up to date vaccinations, have been wormed and treated for fleas. Proof of the vaccinations will be brought to the meeting and shown to you.

All dogs should be taken out each day for walks. When you have your meeting with the owners all routines, including the number and length of walks, will be discussed. The dog is only ever walked on a lead.

We/you would endeavour to contact the owner or the emergency contact. The owner or the emergency contact would be liable for any expenses incurred in taking the dog to the vet.

You will receive a daily allowance starting from £18 per day.

If you are interested in becoming a carer, please ring us for an informal chat and ask any questions or email us with your details and we will come back to you. You can also use the contact form on the ‘contact us’ tab. If we feel you are suitable we would then arrange to visit you at home.

Biscuit

March 2026

On the 26/27th March 2026 my adorable little dog stayed at Sarah’s as a reintroduction before our annual holiday. l have to say what an excellent service; Sarah is so good caring for Biscuit, l am so grateful to her as Biscuit can be little shy at times but l could tell he was happy and felt safe. He returned home totally unbothered by the whole experience, back to his cheeky but patient, relaxed self. That speaks volumes about his care.

Thank you to Sarah and PetStay for making it possible for me to go away leaving him in such good hands.

Our dogs second time with PetStay & Keith. Before this we used PetStay with our 2 previous dogs. We are and will remain long standing customers. We enjoyed daily photos reassuring us how settled she was which is so essential to dog parents who usually take her everywhere with us. Her routine was kept and I’m sure she had more home comforts than she has with us 😂. Won’t use anyone else.

March 2026

This wasn’t my first time using PetStay for good reasons. They always give good service, my dog goes and returns with a wagging tail. I often receive pictures of walks she’s been on while I’m away, I honestly couldn’t ask for more.

Reg

March 2026

Reg the sausage had a trial sleepover with Jackie, her feedback was good and Reg seemed quite happy. It has put my mind at rest for his next stay whilst I go on holiday.

Jesy

March 2026

We’ve used PetStay a few times and will continue to do so. Our Malshi has been cared for and loved, and didn’t want to come home! We can go on holiday safe in the knowledge that she’s happy. We have left her with Irene for our last 2 holidays, who is absolutely lovely, and cares for our dog with affection.

March 2026

Our two year old Glen of Imaal Terrier has stayed with Jacqui & Ray several times and on this occasion he stayed for three weeks. He certainly makes himself at home and runs in to greet them when we drop him off. They both clearly love dogs and he is thoroughly spoilt when he is with them getting lots of attention and cuddles. Jacqui send regular updates to let us know how he is and what he has been doing. We have no worries whatsoever about leaving him with them. It’s like a second home for him and he has a great time on his holidays.

Liz

Dora

March 2026

Dora had a fantastic holiday with Cath and Denis as always. Even though they have had a house move Dora didn’t seem to bother, when Cath opened the door Dora rushed in and was excited to see them. Cath and Denis love Dora and it shows in the photos Dora is completely relaxed and happy to be with them. Makes my holiday knowing that Dora is enjoying her time with Cath and Denis. Thank you xxx

Skye

January 2026

I was nervous to leave Skye with a Boarder for the first time: she is a 2-year-old Border Collie who has a lot of energy! Linda carefully matched us to our boarder and made the introductions in a professional manner that inspired confidence that everything was going to be ok.  It was fantastic to meet our boarder Claire  beforehand; it really put my mind at ease that Skye would have a good holiday at the same time as us.  Claire was wonderful, she sent us pictures every day of the lovely walks as well as updates which let us know that she was taking excellent care of Skye.  I am so pleased that we used PetStay and we will be using the service again.

Lorna

Stanley

January 2026

Our dog Stanley stayed with Irene. I can’t recommend her enough. From the first time we ( Stanley and me) there was an instant connection with Stanley and Irene. Even if he did have a wee on the carpet at Irene’s house when we did the initial visit ( sorry Irene) but it didn’t put her off him (phew!! Ha) Irene sent us photos and updates on his stay he really enjoyed himself (and so did Irene). We love PetStay and recommend the service to anyone who wants to put their dog in a home based environment while they are away.

Stanley will definitely be visiting Irene again!

Thank you Irene :-).

James

Eric

January 2026

Jenny and Mark were fantastic with Eric, I cannot praise them enough. Eric can be a bit anxious but I knew that he would be looked after really well. He’s normally a bit fussy with food but he was so relaxed he ate well. Photos and videos were shared daily. We would highly recommend.

Lottie

December 2025

We were so happy with PetStay, who introduced us to our pet sitters, Jenny & Mark in their lovely home. Lottie was certainly looked after well with updates every day with photos. We felt very content knowing Lottie was in such a caring environment & being totally spoilt! Think she’ll want us to go away again soon. Big thank you!

Christine

Alfie

December 2025

Our usual PetStay hosts were unable to honour our booking due to a house move. PetStay boss, Linda stepped in and took Alfie for the New Year. We were nervous about sending him to stay with the boss!! Will he behave?! Will he get a bad report?! All was well, he came home happy and Linda took time to send us updates and photos. It’s a friendly, efficient service.

George & Mildred

December 2025

Xmas with George and Mildred the Westies . Our Westies went to stay with carers Jenny and Mark over the holidays . Linda at PetStay has brilliant carers and with Jenny and Mark being new to us, and I didn’t have to worry at all knowing they had settled by all the pics of the brilliant walks they had and their clean empty food bowls. We had lots of pics and updates every day and couldn’t have wished for better care . They even had their own doggy Xmas dinner. Every carer we have used via PetStay have been brilliant and I wouldn’t think of going elsewhere for doggy care. Thanks again to Jenny and Mark for having the white wild Westies to stay over Xmas . They will be returning xx

Gillian
