With a dedicated PetStay branch in your area, you can enjoy peace of mind knowing your dog will receive the best care from experienced, fully vetted carers who are part of your local community.
Our daily rate is made up of two separate payments: the Arrangement Fee and the Carer’s Allowance. Together, these payments cover the full cost of your dog’s stay, ensuring they receive loving care in a safe and happy home.
Prices listed are per day (or part thereof), except for Bank Holidays, when the Carer’s Allowance is doubled — because we believe our wonderful carers deserve extra for their dedication during these special times!
The Arrangement Fee secures your dog’s booking and is due within five days of meeting your chosen carer. For repeat bookings, this fee must be paid within five days of your requested dates being confirmed by PetStay.
This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, as it covers the service provided by your local PetStay branch in carefully matching your dog with a suitable carer. It also contributes to essential operational costs, including:
The Carer’s Allowance is a separate payment, made directly to your chosen carer when you drop your dog off for their holiday. On Bank Holidays, this allowance is doubled, reflecting the extra commitment and care our carers provide during these times.
Together, the Arrangement Fee and the Carer’s Allowance make up the full daily rate for your dog’s stay.

You must be a genuine dog lover, have experience of looking after dogs and you need to be home during the day so you have plenty of time to give to the dogs you are caring for. You must have a secure garden and agree to abide by PetStay guidelines. You are allowed to have a dog of your own as long as your dog gets on with other dogs.
If you meet all the requirements listed above, we will come and visit you at your home. We will check the security of the garden, explain PetStay procedures and show you the guidelines each carer needs to follow. If you are happy with everything and we feel you would make a suitable PetStay carer, we would follow up a reference and arrange public liability insurance for you.
Our service is on a one-to-one basis, so only dogs from the same household will stay with you. You are allowed to take up to three dogs from the same household, BUT you choose what you are happy with. We will ask you how many dogs you would like to look after and what sized dog/s you would be happy to care for.
No, the owner will bring any food or treats for the duration of the stay. Any toys, bedding, medication and leads will also be brought.
Yes each dog MUST have up to date vaccinations, have been wormed and treated for fleas. Proof of the vaccinations will be brought to the meeting and shown to you.
This was my first time using PetStay and from the first contact with Jane to meeting the carer I felt so comfortable. My dog has anxiety so we were very nervous about leaving him but Marlyn was so accommodating, arranging short visits to allow our dog to get to know her. This meant when we did leave him he relaxed straight away and had no issues. We got regular updates which gave us the reassurance he was happy. I’m so glad to have found them.
Happy Customer
Jane at PetStay organised dog boarders for my dog Pippin called Margaret and Charles. He stayed with them for just over a week and I couldn’t have been happier with them. They treated him like their own and he absolutely loved his stay. I will 100% be using them again.
Claire
This was the second time Apollo had stayed with David and Beth. It was lovely to know he was going back to people who already knew him and the whole process was straight forward from booking to drop-off. We got regular updates – he settled in well and remembered his routines quickly! We would highly recommend David and Beth and PetStay and will use them for our future holidays.
Ruth
We recently spoke to Jane at PetStay in Glasgow to organise our 9-year-old Vizsla, Lola, boarding while were in Rome for 4 nights. The boarders were absolutely fabulous and a perfect fit for Lola. It was easy to organise and set up a meet and greet prior. I would definitely recommend PetStay and Ben and Valerie.
June
Martha had a great time with Eleanor and her family and was very happy staying with them for the week. We loved and appreciated the daily photos & updates Eleanor would send us each night. We will definitely use PetStay again.
Amy
Hazel, Robb and Andrew always make sure my dog’s needs are met. They ask about his eating and sleeping habits. They are always very welcoming to him and take him out trips. They give me updates as to how he is doing and he always seems happy when I go to pick him up at the end.
Wendy
Alfie was more than looked after by Margaret. Even bought him a birthday present. Alfie loved his stay. Perfect.
Syd
We were lucky to be introduced to Kieran and Keith who made Poppy feel right at home. We went away happy to know that she was in very good hands and that we could relax completely and enjoy our holiday.
Brian
Willow had a lovely stay with Ben and Valerie and was so well looked after while we were on holiday. We received regular updates and photos from them which put our minds at rest. This is the second time we have used PetStay Glasgow and we would have no hesitation in recommending the service to anyone looking for a home from home stay for their precious pet. Jane arranged everything so professionally and matched us with lovely families on both occasions for Willow. We can’t thank Ben, Valerie and Jane enough.
Donna
Kona was so delighted to stay with Margaret and Charlie for the third time, that on arrival she ran into their house as if it was her home. Not a backward glance. On our return, she had no wish to leave them. I think if she could, Kona would give Margaret and Charlie one hundred percent approval. I have to agree their care of Kona is beyond wonderful, and it makes our holiday all the more enjoyable knowing that she’s in such excellent care.
Louise
We’ve been using PetStay for several years now and the quality of service is always excellent, both in terms of making the booking arrangements through Jane and the great care and attention our pup receives from her carer Ann. Our dog can be quite nervous but when we get out the car and she realises she’s going to stay Ann, her tail starts wagging and she’s a happy girl, which makes leaving her so much easier!
Roz
Our two boys love staying with Eleanor and her family, more people = more rubs and scratches. Eleanor could rival David Bailey for the quality of the photos sent each evening of their stay. When we pick them up after our holiday they are asleep within 5 minutes of getting in the car. This is a great sign of their contentment and fun walks with their holiday family.
Marion
Seamus is now 7 and we have used PetStay regularly since he was a puppy. He had another wonderful stay with Alice and Bernard recently. He was so well looked after which makes it easier to leave him to go on holiday. I’m not too sure that he wanted to come home.
Isabelle
Our dog had a lovely time staying with Geraldine. We had no concerns on leaving her for the first time as we had met Geraldine beforehand and knew she was the perfect fit for Lola. Geraldine kept in touch and sent lovely photos to us while we were away to reassure us that Lola was being well cared for. From the first chat with Jane when we put the feelers out to PetStay, we knew that what they had to offer was going to work for us. We can’t recommend PetStay or Geraldine enough. Any dog that gets to stay with Geraldine is a very lucky pooch! She’s a beautiful person who is so kind and caring and if Lola could talk I think she would be singing Geraldine’s praises loud and clear….
Jackie
Our dogs stayed with Margaret and Charlie for two weeks while we were away and had a fabulous time. Margaret gave us regular updates and also made them a lovely cosy den on Bonfire Night and gave them their meds to make sure they were safe and calm. It made a huge difference knowing they were so well looked after and cared for. It’s like they’re going on their holidays when they go for a stay
Al
This is our first time using PetStay and can highly recommend them. They have a very thorough vetting process to ensure the comparability of dog with the carer and we felt confident in leaving Oscar with Joanna. We were sent regular updates and photos and Oscar seemed to enjoy his stay with Joanna and Roger.
Anastasia
Nigel had a great time again with Ann and Chip. Nigel was really happy to see Chip again! We knew we could enjoy our holiday while Nigel was well looked after by Ann and having great fun with Chip!
Alan
I would be very happy to have Indy stay again with the lovely Olivia and Dean. I was sent updates in which Indy looked settled and spoiled in the best way, which was very reassuring and she came back in fine form! Thankfully she got a good report card too! I would not hesitate to recommend these carers to anybody.
Eileen
Geraldine sent us photos and an update everyday. Belle was very comfortable in her house when we came to pick her up. We were delighted with the care Geraldine gave to Belle.
Fraser
Bonnie is almost 15 years old and doesn’t like change to her routine but she loves going to Margaret and Charlie. They care for her so well and understand the needs of an older dog. I can go away feeling assured Bonnie will be fine.
Debbie
Alice and Bernard treat Milo as their own so he loves staying with them. We can enjoy being away knowing he is getting the best care. This is so special.
