Hello, my name is Isabelle, and I am the owner of the Dorset and Bournemouth Branch of PetStay. I live in Dorset with my family and two much loved family dogs – Labradoodles called Chester and Poppy. I am a fully qualified and accredited dog trainer and have been helping dogs and their owners for most of my working life. I understand the effort and love owners put into the training and care of their dogs and from experience, I know that owners do not want to leave their furry family members in a kennel. This is why I set up the PetStay Dorset and Bournemouth Branch – to offer bespoke home boarding for family dogs.
At PetStay, we understand that leaving your beloved dog while you’re on holiday is a big decision. That’s why we offer a trusted, home-based alternative to kennels, ensuring your dog enjoys a comfortable stay in a loving environment. With one-on-one care and no mixing of dogs from different households, we provide a stress-free experience tailored to your dog’s needs.
Personalised, Home-from-Home Care – Your dog stays in a cozy, caring home, just like their own.
Solo Boarding Only – We never mix dogs from different families, ensuring a calm and relaxed stay.
Tailored Matching Process – We carefully select the perfect carer for your dog’s personality and routine.
Meet & Greet Before Booking – You and your dog get to visit the carer’s home beforehand to ensure a great fit.
Fully Insured & Licensed – Your peace of mind is our priority, with full insurance and licensing in place.
Ongoing Support – Our team is here to help, offering 24/7 support for both owners and carers.
With PetStay, you can enjoy your time away knowing your furry friend is safe, happy, and being cared for like family.
All our carers love dogs and are experienced dog owners who provide the best care for your pet while you’re away. Each carer is personally interviewed by PetStay to ensure they offer a safe, loving, and comfortable home environment for your dog. We are fully licensed, and our carers are covered by our public liability insurance for your peace of mind.
Some of our carers may have a dog of their own. If your pooch is happy to stay with another friendly dog, we’ll arrange a meet-up so they can get acquainted and see if they’re a good match.
1. Get in Touch – Call or email your local PetStay branch to discuss your dog’s needs and your preferred dates.
2. Learn About PetStay – We’ll explain how PetStay works and guide you through the next steps.
3. Matching Your Dog – We’ll take all the details about your dog and match them with the most suitable carer available.
4. Meet the Carer – We’ll arrange a meeting for you and your dog to meet the carer and ensure a good fit.
5. Ready to Book – If you’re 100% happy with your carer, you’re all set to proceed with your booking.
6. Confirm Your Booking – Complete our online booking form and pay the arrangement fee within 5 days to confirm your booking.
7. Confirmation – You’ll receive an email confirming your booking details.
8. Stress-Free Booking – You’re all set! No worries, just anticipation for your time away.
9. Drop-Off Time – On your dog’s drop-off day, bring their food, bed, toys, and any other essentials to their carer’s home. At this point, you’ll pay the carer’s allowance directly to the carer.
10. Enjoy Your Holiday – Head off on your trip with complete peace of mind knowing your dog is in great hands.

We’re proud to offer our trusted PetStay service in your city, providing local, personalised dog care that ensures your pet feels right at home. With a dedicated PetStay branch in your area, you can enjoy peace of mind knowing your dog will receive the best care from experienced, fully vetted carers who are part of your local community.
Our daily rate is made up of two separate payments: the Arrangement Fee and the Carer’s Allowance. Together, these payments cover the full cost of your dog’s stay, ensuring they receive loving care in a safe and happy home.
Prices listed are per day (or part thereof), except for Bank Holidays, when the Carer’s Allowance is doubled — because we believe our wonderful carers deserve extra for their dedication during these special times!
The Arrangement Fee secures your dog’s booking and is due within five days of meeting your chosen carer. For repeat bookings, this fee must be paid within five days of your requested dates being confirmed by PetStay.
This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, as it covers the service provided by your local PetStay branch in carefully matching your dog with a suitable carer. It also contributes to essential operational costs, including:
The Carer’s Allowance is a separate payment, made directly to your chosen carer when you drop your dog off for their holiday. On Bank Holidays, this allowance is doubled, reflecting the extra commitment and care our carers provide during these times.
Together, the Arrangement Fee and the Carer’s Allowance make up the full daily rate for your dog’s stay.
For more details on Bank Holiday rates or any other inquiries, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

You must be a genuine dog lover, have experience of looking after dogs and you need to be home during the day so you have plenty of time to give to the dogs you are caring for. You must have a secure garden and agree to abide by PetStay guidelines. You are allowed to have a dog of your own as long as your dog gets on with other dogs.
If you meet all the requirements listed above, we will come and visit you at your home. We will check the security of the garden, explain PetStay procedures and show you the guidelines each carer needs to follow. If you are happy with everything and we feel you would make a suitable PetStay carer, we would follow up a reference and arrange public liability insurance for you.
Our service is on a one-to-one basis, so only dogs from the same household will stay with you. You are allowed to take up to three dogs from the same household, BUT you choose what you are happy with. We will ask you how many dogs you would like to look after and what sized dog/s you would be happy to care for.
No, the owner will bring any food or treats for the duration of the stay. Any toys, bedding, medication and leads will also be brought.
Yes each dog MUST have up to date vaccinations, have been wormed and treated for fleas. Proof of the vaccinations will be brought to the meeting and shown to you.
Just wanted to say a very big thank you for arranging Smarty’s holiday with Tina, she did an outstanding job, Smarty had a wonderful time with her. It’s great to have her on your team.
Sue and Smarty
We want to say a big thank you to Vanessa who looked after our 2 dogs Buddy and Rocky for a few days at the end of March. She was very attentive to their specific needs, and her own little dog, Freya, had to share her owner, which she did very nicely! Vanessa sent us updates which put our minds at rest. Our dogs had not stayed with Vanessa before and so there was a period of settling in, which she managed well! The boys enjoyed her lovely garden, and the stay went to plan, and we were very happy with the care Vanessa gave them! She wrote a report about the stay which was very useful!
Very much appreciated!
B and G and Buddy and Rocky
Just to say we are back from our holiday in a rather cooler Norfolk and have just collected Peppa from Sarah and Andy, she has had a lovely time with them all 😊 .Sarah and Andy are such lovely people, and Pickle and Daisy are very cute too! it’s great to know that Peppa is in safe hands when we are away.
Kind regards
Audrey and Peppa
Vivien was terrific, she was all ready for Hudson’s arrival, kept us updated with photos, and made everything very easy. She took care to understand his quirky ways and routine, and he seemed right at home. We were delighted when she said she’ll be happy to have him back in November.
Many thanks,
Melissa and Hudson
We would like to record our gratitude to your great hosts Justine and Nick for taking care of Betty in half-term week. Lots of updates and photos to keep us updated and reassured that all was well back in Broadstone. When we returned to collect her she was in two minds whether to stay! We have no hesitation in recommending your services to our friends with dogs knowing they will be well catered for.
Alan & Debbie
We would like to praise Bev, our carer with PetStay. Bev looked after our little dog Pep, on two occasions, both of which were highly successful.
I was very nervous of leaving Pep for the first time, as she had never been left before.
Bev took so much care of her, and sent us photos daily, of their walks, and what they had been doing that day, which put my mind at rest.
I know now that they are great friends, and if we go away again, I will definitely ask for Bev.
Thank you Bev, and Thank you PetStay.
Margie and Billy.
We were extremely happy with Mabel’s holiday. She clearly settled very well with Debbie and was reported as not being any bother. All the administration was good and we are grateful that you are so thorough. It was also most reassuring to be able to contact Debbie when we needed to sort out details. In fact Debbie was really excellent and we would be very happy for Mabel to stay with her again in the future.
Thank you and thanks again to Debbie.
Simon
I just wanted to let you know how delighted we were with the perfect stay Buddy and Rocky had with Sarah and Andrew (and little Pickle!) They kept us up to the minute with how things were going with lovely photos that showed our boys happy and relaxed in their care!! Having not been apart from our boys for several years I was worried about leaving them, but not for long! After meeting Sarah and Andrew I felt very reassured that they would be absolutely fine, which they were!! Thank you for your help in organising their stay and we are hoping to travel again soon so will be coming back to you.
Barbara, Buddy and Rocky
I was very nervous about leaving Brian for the first time, Bev made it completely fuss free, kept us updated with the day’s adventures with pictures. I felt relaxed and happy that Brian was being looked after 100%. Thank you to Isabelle too for all the organising. Many thanks
Clare & Phil and of course Brian
Dear Isabelle,
After returning home from our family holiday, we were so delighted with Bev, our carer for Pep.
We were worried about leaving her, as it was her first time away from us. However, we did not have to worry, as Bev was such a kind , caring carer for Pep. She sent us photos, each day, of where they had been, on some lovely walks, and visits to places. Even the grandchildren want to visit Bev.
So a big thank you to you Bev, for being the gem that you are, and see you in July.
Margi and Pep
Hi Isabelle
Dylan obviously enjoyed his stay with Jenny – who is absolutely lovely & was sweet enough to send us a couple of texts to let us know he’d settled in.
Very impressed too with the organisation – all made to ensure Dylan was happy & we were too! Very grateful to have found you!
Many Thanks
Lianna
Just a short note to say thank you to you and to Anne for supporting Molly, this last two weeks whilst we have been away on holiday, it was wonderful to be able to relax without worrying if Molly was ok, she clearly was looked after superbly by Anne who was also lovely and who obviously looked after Molly so well. I will not hesitate to use your services again, it was worth it to see Molly so bright, brushed and clearly looked after, which is the main thing we wanted.
Once again thank you.
Wally and Jackie
Digby very much enjoyed his stay and I think Lesley and Ian enjoyed having him. They are excellent dog sitters and I am sure we will be in touch with you again when booking our holidays.
Emma & Peter
Thank you so much for finding a lovely carer for Trevor whilst we were away. June is a lovely lady and Trevor had a lovely holiday too!
Sharon
Isabelle is amazing when it comes to both dog training and boarding. She is very caring and my two cocker spaniels loved their training with her, which was really effective and has lasted over time. In regards to boarding, my boys could not have been better looked after. The checks are really thorough and the families that look after the dogs, amazing. One of the selected few people I would really trust with my dogs. Thank you for everything you’ve done for our boys.
We decided to go back to Ireland for Christmas and leave our Chorkie Roo in the wonderful hands of Vivien. We cannot thank PetStay and Vivien enough for Roo’s stay I don’t think she wanted to come home. From the Christmas present to all the love she received I would recommend PetStay over and over. Our minds were put at ease that Roo was staying with such a lovely and gentle woman. Vivien then sent us some photos of Roo on Christmas day which just showed how much fun she really had. We will definitely be using PetStay for all of our trips now and know that Roo is in the best hands.

Our re-homed Yorkshire Terrier, Susie, has just returned to us after spending a week with Vivien who lives quite close to us. This was arranged by PetStay. They had initially organised for us to take Susie for a Meet and Greet session with Vivien a few weeks previously, to see if the arrangement was acceptable to all of us, including Susie. Fortunately, it went well. When the morning came for us to leave Susie, she went off happily , with the help of some treats, and we knew she was going to be looked after well. A few days into our holiday, we received an email from Vivien assuring us that Susie had settled in and, in particular, was enjoying her walks. We knew that we were missing her rather more than she was missing us!
On our return, we could see that Susie had been cared for and she settled back with us immediately. Thank you Vivien and PetStay. We will not hesitate to use you again and we are able to recommend you without any reservations.
Olivia – St Leonards, Dorset
Thank you Isabelle for recommending Justine & Nick to look after our Staffie Layla. It was the first time we had left her and we were anxious, how wrong were we. She had the time of her life. Now she expects more walks!! She was shown lots of love & affection. Thank you Justine & Nick
Kevin & Jackie – Bournemouth
I have two elderly dogs one very old and they could not off been better looked after with Bev who is a Carer for PetStay. I was concerned as I have not left my dogs before but I need not of worried at all – Bev is a lovely very caring person who is very confident doing her job and I will not have any qualms about leaving them in the future – so a huge thank you for providing an excellent service.
Milo had a fantastic time with Justine & Nick Woods. He was a little anxious at first but Justine and Nick made him very welcome and he soon relaxed and settled into his holiday.
I would highly recommend PetStay as they provided a very professional and efficient service and Milo’s carers were a perfect match. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday knowing Milo was in confident, loving and safe hands.
Many thanks
Michelle & Stuart
