Welcome to PetStay Hull & East Riding, your local home dog boarding provider.

My name is Ian, and I am the owner of the Hull and East Riding Branch of PetStay.

I live in Beverley with my wife Nikki and our beautiful dog, Bella. We are both dog lovers and are passionate about making sure our four-legged friends are as happy as we are when going on holiday. It is important to have peace of mind knowing your dog is in safe hands, and I will do my very best to find you the perfect carer that will ensure this happens.

Why Choose PetStay?

At PetStay, we understand that leaving your beloved dog while you’re on holiday is a big decision. That’s why we offer a trusted, home-based alternative to kennels, ensuring your dog enjoys a comfortable stay in a loving environment. With one-on-one care and no mixing of dogs from different households, we provide a stress-free experience tailored to your dog’s needs.

What Makes Us Different?

Personalised, Home-from-Home Care – Your dog stays in a cozy, caring home, just like their own.
Solo Boarding Only – We never mix dogs from different families, ensuring a calm and relaxed stay.
Tailored Matching Process – We carefully select the perfect carer for your dog’s personality and routine.
Meet & Greet Before Booking – You and your dog get to visit the carer’s home beforehand to ensure a great fit.
Fully Insured & Licensed – Your peace of mind is our priority, with full insurance and licensing in place.
Ongoing Support – Our team is here to help, offering 24/7 support for both owners and carers.
With PetStay, you can enjoy your time away knowing your furry friend is safe, happy, and being cared for like family.

Our Carers

All our carers love dogs and are experienced dog owners who provide the best care for your pet while you’re away. Each carer is personally interviewed by PetStay to ensure they offer a safe, loving, and comfortable home environment for your dog. We are fully licensed, and our carers are covered by our public liability insurance for your peace of mind.

Some of our carers may have a dog of their own. If your pooch is happy to stay with another friendly dog, we’ll arrange a meet-up so they can get acquainted and see if they’re a good match.

Home Dog Boarding Prices in the Hull and East Yorkshire area

1 dog £33.00 a day

2 dogs £45.00 a day

3 dogs £55.00 a day

Prices above are per day, or part thereof, except Bank Holidays. For more information regarding those rates, please contact us.

PetStay Arrangement Fee & Carer’s Allowance

Our daily rate is made up of two separate payments: the Arrangement Fee and the Carer’s Allowance. Together, these payments cover the full cost of your dog’s stay, ensuring they receive loving care in a safe and happy home.

Prices listed are per day (or part thereof), except for Bank Holidays, when the Carer’s Allowance is doubled — because we believe our wonderful carers deserve extra for their dedication during these special times!

Arrangement Fee

The Arrangement Fee secures your dog’s booking and is due within five days of meeting your chosen carer. For repeat bookings, this fee must be paid within five days of your requested dates being confirmed by PetStay.

This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, as it covers the service provided by your local PetStay branch in carefully matching your dog with a suitable carer. It also contributes to essential operational costs, including:

Carer’s Allowance

The Carer’s Allowance is a separate payment, made directly to your chosen carer when you drop your dog off for their holiday. On Bank Holidays, this allowance is doubled, reflecting the extra commitment and care our carers provide during these times.

Together, the Arrangement Fee and the Carer’s Allowance make up the full daily rate for your dog’s stay.

Please fill in the details below, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions about becoming a PetStay Carer

You must be a genuine dog lover, have experience of looking after dogs and you need to be home during the day so you have plenty of time to give to the dogs you are caring for. You must have a secure garden and agree to abide by PetStay guidelines. You are allowed to have a dog of your own as long as your dog gets on with other dogs.

If you meet all the requirements listed above, we will come and visit you at your home. We will check the security of the garden, explain PetStay procedures and show you the guidelines each carer needs to follow. If you are happy with everything and we feel you would make a suitable PetStay carer, we would follow up a reference and arrange public liability insurance for you.

Our service is on a one-to-one basis, so only dogs from the same household will stay with you. You are allowed to take up to three dogs from the same household, BUT you choose what you are happy with. We will ask you how many dogs you would like to look after and what sized dog/s you would be happy to care for.

No, the owner will bring any food or treats for the duration of the stay. Any toys, bedding, medication and leads will also be brought.

Yes each dog MUST have up to date vaccinations, have been wormed and treated for fleas. Proof of the vaccinations will be brought to the meeting and shown to you.

All dogs should be taken out each day for walks. When you have your meeting with the owners all routines, including the number and length of walks, will be discussed. The dog is only ever walked on a lead.

We/you would endeavour to contact the owner or the emergency contact. The owner or the emergency contact would be liable for any expenses incurred in taking the dog to the vet.

You will receive a daily allowance starting from £20 per day.

If you are interested in becoming a carer, please ring us for an informal chat and ask any questions or email us with your details and we will come back to you. You can also use the contact form on the ‘contact us’ tab. If we feel you are suitable we would then arrange to visit you at home.

I always know that my dog will be well looked after when I leave her with the lovely Jackie and her husband. They listen to my requests and treat her like their own pet .

Ivy

July 2025

We have used PetStay now for our last few holidays. Such an easy process and Ivy is so happy with Angie. We get lovely pics while away and she is so happy. She gets a lovely home to stay at and is great like one of the family. Can’t recommend PetStay more

Ronnie

June 2025

Alison, our chosen boarder was absolutely amazing. Our dog Ronnie had skin issues due to allergies when he was due to go to stay with Alison. I asked if this would be a problem as it was rather smelly. She was really accommodating and said it really wasn’t a problem. She went above and beyond to take care of our boy.

First time using PetStay for my 3 dogs. Fantastic service from both the booking process with Ian and the actual stay with the sitter. My dogs were thoroughly looked after and I received regular updates and pictures which put my mind at rest. I was able to relax and enjoy my holiday knowing that my dogs were being cared for by a lovely lady, Jan who really loved dogs and looking after them. I am already booked for their next two stays

Lottie

June 2025

Our dog Lottie stayed with Roy in Hull. She absolutely loves going to stay with Roy. He is such a brilliant career for her. She has a few medical conditions and we always trust Roy to look after and care for her. We have used PetStay for a number of years now and had a few different carers, all of them are brilliant

Michelle

Benji

May 2025

All of our needs were met and we were matched with a lovely carer Angie who not only has a similar puppy just like ours but cared for Benji just like her own. As a result of this experience, Benji is now so much more confident especially interacting with other dogs as he made his first dog friend! He was well looked after and cared for which made our holiday so much more relaxing as we didn’t have to worry about Benji, we were reassured he was in safe hands. I would recommend the service to anyone who is worried about putting their dog in a kennel!

Birdie

April 2025

This is the second time that we have used PetStay and Alison for our Cavalier King Charles, Birdie. Alison is such a wonderful dog carer we wonder who enjoyed our holiday the most, us or Birdie. Nothing is too much trouble for Alison and we get regular updates and photos of Birdie while we’re away so we know we can enjoy our holiday without any concerns. We can highly recommend PetStay and Alison.

Archie

April 2025

Archie stayed with Christine and Derek for the second time and I wouldn’t hesitate to take him there again there both lovely people. Christine kept me updated with how Archie was doing with messages and photos.  Archie was very chilled when we brought him home which put our minds at rest that he had a good time there.

Our 9 year old Border Terrier recently stayed with Jill at PetStay. I was worried as she hadn’t stayed with anyone other than us before. I need not worry. Ian was very organised and informative arranging her stay and Jill was amazing. Our dog settled so well when we took her for a visit and when we dropped her off to stay. We had regular updates and I loved that when we picked her up she went over to Jill before we got in the car for a thank you and bye cuddle/pat which showed she enjoyed her time.

Love using PetStay. Tommy & Bailey stayed with Ann & George, in Hull. They both get well and truly spoilt, especially when they have their granddaughters staying with them. I would highly recommend using PetStay. I’ve got 4 holidays booked already for next year, knowing T & B will be well looked after.

November 2024

We used PetStay for the first time in October because we didn’t want our rescue dog Birdie going into kennels when we were on holiday and have already booked her in again with Alison for our next holiday. Alison from Hull is lovely and obviously very passionate and caring about looking after dogs in her care. She kept us informed with photos and updates whilst we were away which meant we could relax and enjoy our holiday without any worries and Birdie really enjoyed her stay. We would highly recommend PetStay.

October 2024
Our pup, Blue, a Bedlington terrier has stopped with Mary and Peter now on 3 occasions. We were very happy that Blue was secure, in the garden, and safe throughout his stay. His home schedule was maintained through his stay which meant he settled well with them and also back when he got home. We have utmost confidence that Blue was well cared for in a home from home environment when we were away. Would highly recommend PetStay
