Franchise Opportunity
Hello, my name is Alice or Ali, I don’t mind either and I am the owner of PetStay Cambridge, Huntingdon, and Royston. I live in St Neots, Cambridgeshire with my partner and our four children. So, life is busy, just how I like it. I have had dogs my whole adult life and love the joy they bring, that is why a couple of years ago I decided to become a dog walker. However, I saw my customers struggling to find people to look after their much-loved pets while they were away, so I decided to set up PetStay Cambridge, Huntingdon and Royston.
I understand the love that owners have for their dogs and from experience, I know that owners do not want to leave their furry family members in a kennel. This is why I was excited to take up the opportunity to run the PetStay Cambridge, Huntington, and Royston Branch – to offer bespoke home boarding for family dogs.
At PetStay, we understand that leaving your beloved dog while you’re on holiday is a big decision. That’s why we offer a trusted, home-based alternative to kennels, ensuring your dog enjoys a comfortable stay in a loving environment. With one-on-one care and no mixing of dogs from different households, we provide a stress-free experience tailored to your dog’s needs.
Personalised, Home-from-Home Care – Your dog stays in a cozy, caring home, just like their own.
Solo Boarding Only – We never mix dogs from different families, ensuring a calm and relaxed stay.
Tailored Matching Process – We carefully select the perfect carer for your dog’s personality and routine.
Meet & Greet Before Booking – You and your dog get to visit the carer’s home beforehand to ensure a great fit.
Fully Insured & Licensed – Your peace of mind is our priority, with full insurance and licensing in place.
Ongoing Support – Our team is here to help, offering 24/7 support for both owners and carers.
With PetStay, you can enjoy your time away knowing your furry friend is safe, happy, and being cared for like family.
All our carers love dogs and are experienced dog owners who provide the best care for your pet while you’re away. Each carer is personally interviewed by PetStay to ensure they offer a safe, loving, and comfortable home environment for your dog. We are fully licensed, and our carers are covered by our public liability insurance for your peace of mind.
Some of our carers may have a dog of their own. If your pooch is happy to stay with another friendly dog, we’ll arrange a meet-up so they can get acquainted and see if they’re a good match.
1. Get in Touch – Call or email your local PetStay branch to discuss your dog’s needs and your preferred dates.
2. Learn About PetStay – We’ll explain how PetStay works and guide you through the next steps.
3. Matching Your Dog – We’ll take all the details about your dog and match them with the most suitable carer available.
4. Meet the Carer – We’ll arrange a meeting for you and your dog to meet the carer and ensure a good fit.
5. Ready to Book – If you’re 100% happy with your carer, you’re all set to proceed with your booking.
6. Confirm Your Booking – Complete our online booking form and pay the arrangement fee within 5 days to confirm your booking.
7. Confirmation – You’ll receive an email confirming your booking details.
8. Stress-Free Booking – You’re all set! No worries, just anticipation for your time away.
9. Drop-Off Time – On your dog’s drop-off day, bring their food, bed, toys, and any other essentials to their carer’s home. At this point, you’ll pay the carer’s allowance directly to the carer.
10. Enjoy Your Holiday – Head off on your trip with complete peace of mind knowing your dog is in great hands.

We’re proud to offer our trusted PetStay service in your city, providing local, personalised dog care that ensures your pet feels right at home. With a dedicated PetStay branch in your area, you can enjoy peace of mind knowing your dog will receive the best care from experienced, fully vetted carers who are part of your local community.
Our daily rate is made up of two separate payments: the Arrangement Fee and the Carer’s Allowance. Together, these payments cover the full cost of your dog’s stay, ensuring they receive loving care in a safe and happy home.
Prices listed are per day (or part thereof), except for Bank Holidays, when the Carer’s Allowance is doubled — because we believe our wonderful carers deserve extra for their dedication during these special times!
The Arrangement Fee secures your dog’s booking and is due within five days of meeting your chosen carer. For repeat bookings, this fee must be paid within five days of your requested dates being confirmed by PetStay.
This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, as it covers the service provided by your local PetStay branch in carefully matching your dog with a suitable carer. It also contributes to essential operational costs, including:
The Carer’s Allowance is a separate payment, made directly to your chosen carer when you drop your dog off for their holiday. On Bank Holidays, this allowance is doubled, reflecting the extra commitment and care our carers provide during these times.
Together, the Arrangement Fee and the Carer’s Allowance make up the full daily rate for your dog’s stay.
For more details on Bank Holiday rates or any other inquiries, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

You must be a genuine dog lover, have experience of looking after dogs and you need to be home during the day so you have plenty of time to give to the dogs you are caring for. You must have a secure garden and agree to abide by PetStay guidelines. You are allowed to have a dog of your own as long as your dog gets on with other dogs.
If you meet all the requirements listed above, we will come and visit you at your home. We will check the security of the garden, explain PetStay procedures and show you the guidelines each carer needs to follow. If you are happy with everything and we feel you would make a suitable PetStay carer, we would follow up a reference and arrange public liability insurance for you.
Our service is on a one-to-one basis, so only dogs from the same household will stay with you. You are allowed to take up to three dogs from the same household, BUT you choose what you are happy with. We will ask you how many dogs you would like to look after and what sized dog/s you would be happy to care for.
No, the owner will bring any food or treats for the duration of the stay. Any toys, bedding, medication and leads will also be brought.
Yes each dog MUST have up to date vaccinations, have been wormed and treated for fleas. Proof of the vaccinations will be brought to the meeting and shown to you.
We contacted PetStay after being recommended by a friend. Ali, the area coordinator was really informative and matched our dog with an amazing host family after considering our dog’s needs. We could not be happier with our host family and immediately warmed to them during our initial meeting and felt comfortable leaving our dog in their care. Koda settled in their home and loved all the attention. The host family sent regular photos and kept in contact with us during our stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to use PetStay again and hope we get matched with the same family. I have already passed the contact information on to two other people and highly rate the experience.

It’s second time we left our dog with PetStay and was amazing! Our dog Skye stayed with Rubi & Ash and she had a lovely stay. They are an excellent couple who look after amazing Skye. All the time Rubi updated me about how is Skye and we were so relaxed knowing our dog was in good hands. Definitely we will book again with them.

We used PetStay for the first time last week. Alice was so helpful right from the start. The whole process was professional but also so personable. I will definitely be contacting Alice again to have PetStay look after our fur baby Pepsi in the future. We felt totally at ease all of our break. We got loads of photos and updates which was so lovely. Pepsi sulked on our return home as she had had such a wonderful time. Thank you PetStay.
Julie
Really great experience with PetStay – our dog Dusty has had 3 fabulous stays with Charlie over the last couple of years and would recommend the service to other pet owners others too.
Hayley
My dog was so happy with Charlie. She is amazing with dogs and made her feel very comfortable. We didn’t have any problems and my dog is not easy to look after. When we returned it took 2 days for Skye to feel normal at home. We think she was missing Charlie.
Maritza
5 star service from start to finish. We used another pet boarding company before PetStay and had a terrible experience so we was extremely nervous and apprehensive. We did not need to be! Alice was fantastic from start to finish. We had some tester days/nights before we left our dog Dolly for over 2 weeks. The communication was fantastic whilst we were away with videos and photos clearly showing a very happy pup being given lots of love, care and belly rubs. The whole family cared for Dolly as if she was their family member and gave us complete peace of mind that she was in good hands. Will only use PetStay going forward and hopefully it will always be with Alice and her lovely family. Feel very happy.

I needed the sitter really last minute. Alice was amazing and found the right match very fast for me. The family my boys stayed with were amazing! My boys has had a great time . Rubi and Ash were fantastic with my boys! Definitely highly recommend.
Angelica
Our dog seemed to have a great time, the pictures Cat and Mark sent while we were away backed this up and they were both enthusiastic about having Asha there and extremely complimentary about Asha’s behaviour. We have no qualms about asking Cat and Mark again and we were certainly not worried whilst we were away. Recommended, thank you Alice, Cat and Mark.
Garry
Jo was fantastic with Olly, he is a rescue and so we were a bit concerned about leaving him, but we didn’t need to be. Jo put our mind at rest and Olly seemed very happy to stay with her. We would definitely recommend Jo as a dog sitter.
Gillian
Cat and Mark were absolutely amazing! Our boys were looked after and we had complete trust in them. Thank you so much! xx
Katie
The initial call from Alice was warm, friendly and showed the most important thing was the welfare of my dog. I could not have asked for better sitters than Linda and Dave. Dash absolutely fell in love with them. PetStay had a number of options to try to find the right people for Dash and they certainly did. Yes, it appears to be a costly service, but it’s worth it for peace of mind and safety.

Barney had an excellent time at Allison’s; he was so relaxed and happy. She was in contact with me on a daily basis which I wanted as I was so far away. I feel Barney is comfortable and happy with Allison because she looks after him the same way I do and has the same routine as he does at home. It is wonderful to know that Allison is there, as we have tried other people, but it just does not work because of their lifestyle. Thanks again for finding Allison for us.
Nikki
Jo & Chris made our older chap feel very at home whilst staying with them. Infact, I am not sure he wanted to come back! I felt very confident that he would be safe and well cared for especially as it was his first time (at 12 years of age!) staying with a sitter. I was assured by seeing pictures of him asleep or out for a walk – it helps as a bit of a stressy owner!! We will be using them again.
I had tried PetStay closer to me previously (franchise as I understand) and had no luck, but with Alice (& her area) and not only was she successful in finding someone to look after my rather old but scared reactor, she had more than one for me to meet. Then for a recent visit he went to stay with a wonderful family, who he settled with and even had a bit of a zoomie (an indication he was happy). Thoroughly recommend Alice and her home boarders, thank you.
This was the second time we have used Charlie at PetStay for our dog. The house and garden are lovely. Prices are £30 per night including the arrangement fees which is not much more than kennels in this area. But you know your dog is in a caring home environment and gets to go out on nice walks like when he is at home. Pick up and drop off is much more flexible than kennels too.
